My boyfriend and I stayed here for Valentines. We knew going into it that it's not the Ritz, but as with everything in life, we have standards, some higher than others. We got a king bed room and at $70/night we thought it should at least be clean with comfortable accommodations.
We were (hardly) greeted by a grumpy lady & a terrible smell (which seemed to be everywhere in the hotel). As we looked for our room (trying not to breath) it was dark and kinda creepy - as only half of the hallway lights worked, with some flickering.
Upon entering the room it wasn't perfect, didn't look vacuumed and the smell was still everywhere, but we thought it didn't look THAT bad.
Then we found dirty towels in the bathroom (gross) and cigarette burns on the sink!
When we went to check out the view, we realized the window didn't fully close... in winter... So we turned on the heater and it worked, kind of, in a partially broken, obnoxiously loud kind of way.
The fridge didn't look too bad, until we saw what seemed to be mold... good thing we only had soda to put in there.
We were excited about having a hotel bed to lounge and sleep on, until we felt how uncomfortable it was! That's a big deal for me, I would have been able to deal with everything else if only the bed would have been decent! We had three small pillows, my boyfriend said it was like laying his head on a plastic bag full of leaves. lol
Another thing that was kind of a big deal, only because I love ice, is that the only ice machine they have had no ice... that was unacceptable to me. (I had to drive to somewhere to get ice)
After being there a while I went to get something from the car and returned to the room to find that my key card didn't work anymore. Luckily my boyfriend was still in there. We tried both key cards several times, but they must have been deactivated or something.
Overall it was a very disappointing stay and I would absolutely NOT recommend staying at this Super 8 location unless it's your absolute...
Read moreMy room was just at 60$. You get what you pay for. Definitely dated. The room furniture (tables, night stands, dresser, etc..) has been the same for 20+ years more than likely. The mattress was newer but slept like a rock. The bedding had burn holes in it throughout the whole cover to the linens. As well as the pillow cases. My room was also a smoking room but come on.. if it’s ruined get a new one. Like I mentioned definitely get what you pay for. If I’m traveling on a budget I would stop here again. The gentleman at the front counter was very polite and well mannered. Also the cleaning ladies as I was leaving as I passed them in the hallway all stopped and said hello and asked me how my stay was. Just an absolute, very nice and welcoming staff. Also, don’t plan on sleeping past 10am even though checkout is at 11am you will get a very RUDE “courteousy” call at 10am just reminding you that check out is at 11am. So for that reason I change my mind, I will not be back to this hotel ever again. I will pay the extra 20-40$ or drive to the next town because I feel that their so called “courteousy” call is absolutely unprofessional and ridiculous to say the least. I am just appalled. Especially since I didn’t check In until almost 1am what if I wanted to sleep in until 10:45am and check out right at 11? Nope can’t do that because I’ll be rudely awakened with a phone call saying checkout is at 11. Like I can’t read or something, it’s posted everywhere. Yeah I will not...
Read moreWhile I ranked 2-3, but overall 1 is because this place was full of work men traveling. One of which hit on my 11 year old granddaughter. He was 2 rooms down. Tv wouldn't turn down on volume and then after waiting for at least 1/2 at 10:30 at night to have front desk person to come in our room and fix. After he left, I tried to change the channel, and that switched to static and stayed like that. The door lock wasn't working. You could literally hear everything from either side. Bathtub slick as snot. It definitely was not a family-friendly place . The only good thing was that the woman who checked us in was very friendly and provided items needed. I would never stay there or possibly in any Motel 8 again!! Expedia had this hotel rated 8/10, as a family place being right down from 6 flags . It was lies! The only other occupants were trucks full of worker guys, who immediately hit on my 11 year old granddaughter and was only 2 rooms from us.The door lock was broken, tv volume didn't work and then when changed out the remote ,the channels didn't work, and we just felt unsafe! I have been getting trip insurance,I felt leaving was our only option! My granddaughter was scared. I was utterly pissed off. I always buy the trip insurance offered and thought that would reimburse me for what I spent. I JUST RECEIVED COMFIRMATION I WILL BE REIMBURSED $9.00! LESS THEN THE ORIGINAL TRIP INSURANCE! I was also denied a receipt...
