Altos Cantina Mexican Kitchen ==== not sure why they have a good rating - went there for lunch today (Monday 7/8) - only one other table in use - started ok, chips/salsa on table pretty quick - from there down hill.
Food took over 20 minutes (?) the sides for the fajitas were brought fjaitas had large slices of tomato (not cubed) had 5 shrimp and maybe 1 oz TOTAL of chicken & steak burritos had many chunks of the peppers
Oh it gets better! After another 20 minutes (keep in mind, no tables in use), she brings the bill ($32.xx) - I give her $100 bill - 15 MINUTES LATER, she comes back and gives me the bill book with $65 in it, says ok? - told her no, still owes $2.xx - 15 MINUTES AGAIN, she comes back with $67 and no change
They had 3 people on the floor and gave this terrible service. Needless to say, I will not be back (El Agave Mexican Restaurant in Pacific is 1000% better) NOR will I give this a thumbs up to any...
Read moreWas greeted with a warm smile by Olivia, such an amazing server! The place looked exquisite. For the prices, and services its one of the best places I have been out when traveling by far. Right after we came from the super-hyper-ultra overpriced Six Flags with bulging heat, this place definitely healed us.
I had enfrijoladas, a vegetarian dish, after the amazing chips and salsa. In terms of taste, the dish was okay. They don’t put added salt on your dishes so one is on their own for that. Can you make the dish in home? Yes. But if home is 4 hours of drive far away and you want to really eat some good food, this dish serves its purpose. The cheese could have been melted a little longer, and avocado could have been seasoned a little better. So for my fellow vegetarians, you will get experience of good kind, with decent tasting food.
Overall the experience was very positive. Olivia asked us around 3-4 times on if we needed anything that was nice, and always with a smile.
Cheers!...

The service was fantastic, the food took a little while but when you have such a huge menu with so much to offer there is probably more that goes into prep..etc.. Waiting didn't matter though because the chips and salsa were incredible also tried the banana margarita and it was amazing..ordered and highly recommend the shrimp tacos, they were seasoned and cooked to perfection. With Eureka already having 2 Mexican restaurants in town I wasn't sure how this place would fit on my list of favorites. The great thing is that their menu has such an extensive list of unique items that it's fun to have a new place to go while still showing Camilla's and Hola some love too. Am thrilled that Altos has made a home here and will...
