We checked in late at night and the man behind the desk was nice. But there was a large black bug crawling across the floor that looked like a cockroach. It was squashed then left there. He was honest and told me they haven't even had annacrual maintenance man all summer. They've had to borrow them from other locations. We get to our room to find dust on picture frames, mirrors and surfaces. The tub had a gross film and mold on some of the grout. The lamp on our table was broken. Yes it turned on but it wouldn't stand up (I posted photos of having to hold it).But we were so tired I just wanted to go to sleep. The next morning I was woken up at 8:30 am after having broken and little sleep by the housekeeping staff. She was cleaning rooms and instead of propping the door open she kept letting doors slam on the metal triangle that you use to secure the doors as an extra lock. I got up and as politely as I could, I asked her to please stop that. Some guests are still sleeping and I wasn't feeling well. I felt bad even doing that. Then I couldn't go back to sleep because she did it a few more times. My husband spoke to the front desk worker. He asked for 1 extra hour for a chance to sleep. The man at the desk was very annoyed and rude ,never once apologized at all. Never tried to accommodate us at all. He said they were sold out and we had to leave so no extended check out. When we left, their housekeeping staff was at the other end of the hall and wouldn't have gotten to our room for at least an hour. I have worked in hotels so each room takes about 45 minutes to strip, clean, and redress beds. She had several doors propped open! So we go downstairs. I asked to speak to a manager. Surprise surprise,no manager until 3pm. I informed him he was rude to my husband because I was on speaker phone, and that I knew good and well we could've slept an hour more. Yes I fully intend to contact corporate! This makes the 3rd hotel in this chain that has had an incompetent staff, dirty rooms and floors, and we've had to contact corporate. I definitely wouldn't reccomend this place to anyone.

Overall this hotel isn't bad. I will say this is my first time staying at a fair field generally I stay in Marriott and Courtyard. Front Desk- the front desk staff was extremely polite, well versed. And was in the proper attire. Lobby- the lobby is recently updated, very modern, well cleaned and was inviting a pond walk Room- the room was extremely clean and recently updated. Not as many lighting fixtures as a Residence Inn or a courtyard. And Less Furniture. The mattresses were okay. And the pillows were less than desirable. The worst part about my room is that if you are in the rear of the hotel you are a butting up against the highway and you will literally hear every, single, sound that comes off the road. It was impossible to get any sleep. I was on the second floor and could hear every child screaming in the pool area until it closed. If you are staying here for anything other than Leisure make sure to stay in the front of the hotel or you will not be able to get any peace and quiet and or at work completed. The Wi-Fi was fast and had no issues, they did also have a direct Lan connection. Bathroom- the bathroom did have less amenities in it than the residence Inns or courtyards, but was extremely clean and a zero mold no pitted Chrome no spider webs. Overall a very clean bathroom. Since this is a very basic in there are not any connected eateries or amenities other than the fitness room and the pool. I did not have the breakfast the next day as I was tired from not getting any sleep that evening.

DO NOT STAY HERE – Unsafe, Misleading, Not Up to Marriott Standards This property is being used to house long-term guests who’ve created a halfway-house atmosphere. Regular guests are being charged full price while enduring late-night partying, open drug/alcohol use, people blocking entrances, and even police intervention. I witnessed police questioning guests in the outdoor seating area on hotel grounds. At 1 a.m., I was woken up by a party next door. People were in and out of rooms until 3:30 a.m. Doors slammed constantly—because latches were folded to stay open, every bang shook my room. My room phone didn’t even work when I tried to report the noise. The breakfast area was being used as a salon every night—hair spray and product all over the same tables used for dining. Hair was stuck to my shower wall and crumbs on the floor showed the room wasn’t cleaned properly. The gym was filthy with rusty, broken equipment. Staff were polite but powerless. When I brought up my concerns, I was told this “isn’t normal” and that a group was staying long-term. That doesn’t excuse Marriott charging full price to unsuspecting travelers—many with children. This is a serious health and safety concern. If this is Marriott’s standard, I’ll start looking elsewhere. Marriott should delist this property or close it entirely.

We booked reservations for the above dates and occupied rooms 221 & 230. Upon check in, we found that there was nobody behind the reception desk and a group of people waiting to check in. We later found that there was only one employee on premises, and that the room keys were not working. This meant that after checking in, the receptionist had to escort all guests to their rooms. We did not expect to have to wait the better part of an hour to get into our rooms, nor must go back down to reception to reenter our rooms, as we needed to leave for simple thing as getting ice or retrieving items from our cars. Some of the people who in our wedding party waiting an hour and a half! We were told repeatedly that the keys would be working and issued in a few hours. That did not happen until we returned for the night on Sunday. We were also provided with a poor substitute for breakfast. An orange and Granola Bar. I had to go down and ask for a clean towel and was made to feel that it was an imposition. And upon leaving I wanted to have my concerns addressed by the manager but was told he or she would not be available until Monday. I did call Monday and was told they would not be in till Tuesday, and when I called on Tuesday, I went to automated receptionist, selected option to speak with somebody and was told by recording none was available at the time. I tried calling several times on Tuesday and never got through to anyone. We chose your Hotel on a strong recommendation, and I have stayed with Marriott several times over the years. This was in no way, anything I had ever experienced. I would hope that our charges would be credited back, or at least greatly reduced. I have already disputed the Charge with my Bank and I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving the...

We had a terrible experience at Fairfield Harrisburg West. On the second night of our stay, the room next to us had a gathering that went until at least 1 to 1:30am. We could hear it very clearly through the walls and even in the hallway. We called the front desk around 12am and asked if they could request that our neighbors keep it down. After 15-20 minutes, there was still the same amount of noise (talking, laughing, sometimes loud yells). We called again and the person working the front desk said they had not had a chance to notify our neighbors but would do it then. The noise level picked back up after about five minutes, and we called the front desk again. This time, I'm not sure if anything was done as the noise continued until 1/1:30am (we gave up calling as we saw that no one was going to do anything).

The next morning, we mentioned it to the front desk as we were checking out and he started defending the neighbors, saying that they were in town for a wedding. Weddings are great and should be celebrated but not at the expense of others. We were upset that instead of at least sympathizing with us, he came up with excuses and was defending the neighbors. We asked to speak to the manager, but seeing as the manager was busy at the time, we left our phone number and asked to be called at the manager's convenience. We still have not received a call or follow-up at all. We have never been treated like this during any of our other stays at any other hotel - not only were our requests ignored during the incident but also our opinions were invalidated when we voiced them.

We're still waiting for some sort of follow-up but will likely not be...
