My husband and I had dinner at El Rancho in New Cumberland on Feb 11, along with three friends. It was INCREDIBLE!
It's beautiful inside with an incredible bar that will be open soon, until then it's BYOB. The staff were welcoming and very friendly, and seemed genuinely happy to be there which was a breath of fresh air! Our server was Luis who was FANTASTIC! Very friendly, polite, attentive and efficient. He brought water refills without asking, offered soda refills, etc - didn't have to chase him down for anything.
Three of us had the all you can eat tacos and they were delicious! I had the chicken enchilada and loved it. The pulled chicken in it was juicy and flavorful.
We are all looking forward to coming back and trying additional dishes very soon! Very excited to have some drinks when the bar opens too.
Great job to the owners, management and staff at this restaurant!...
Read moreDinner on Friday at El Rancho, New Cumberland was fantastic. An old Bob Evans Restaurant has been reborn as El Rancho. Located on Sherton Drive, New Cumberland - off Limekiln Road and I-83. The new decor is delightfully colorful and sets the perfect mood. The music is lively but the volume needs to go down a decibel or two. The staff are wonderfully courteous and friendly and very professional. Our waitress couldn't seem to do enough for us. Take my advice and try the MOLCAJETE - bubbling hot in a piglike cauldron there is chicken, steak, pork and good sized shrimp with your choice of red, green or cheese sauce. Do ask for a small plate - or two - there is enough served for two decent servings. Three, freshly made tortillas (corn or flour) beans and yellow rice complete this delicious order. FRIED ICE CREAM is the perfect dessert. Highly recommend you give El...
Read moreFood quality and pricing is solid. The portion sizes are excellent! You get a lot of food for your entre. Everything is well seasoned and cooked. No complaints.
The service was very good. No issues. Waitress even explained parts of the menu we did not know.
Where this restaurant loses stars is in NO FREE REFILLS on their fountain drinks. They serve seasoned and spicy food and charge $3.25 for each soda with no free refills. Absolutely and utterly inexcusable in 2025. And if you want to adopt such an absurd policy, you should publish that very clearly on your menu.
Our last complaint was the salsa and chips. You get one complimentary order or the salsa and chips. Any additional is at your cost. So, there seems to be a lot of nickel and diming here. Too bad, we were really impressed with the...
