Puerto Rico 🇵🇷: A Hidden Gem of Serenity in a Secluded Paradise Hotel

One of the best resorts I have ever been to. If you want the Puerto Rican riviera its right here. El conquistador is situated on a hill and it over looks the ocean. You have to wear a swimsuit where ever you go because with its many pools you are going to want to jump in. There are two main sections with a funicular or cable car connecting the upper level to the lower level. And one more surprise was that they have an island. Yes an island. It is called palomino that is all included with the boat ride over there. We have been to puerto rico so many times and first time discovered this gem. The prices for the rooms are also cheap for a resort of this caliber even with the resort fee. My only gripe is that everyone here speaks almost perfect english. I love accents and they talk like they are from california.

Place is very good. It is far from the main hotel and pools making it very hard to get around without the help of the butler or hotel golf carts. That was very inconvenient. They did give us one golf cart but only works if the entire group comes and goes together. In our case we didn’t all come and go together so I was left with a luggage piece in the middle of a parking lot, somewhere to go but no way to get there for 45 minutes. We tried calling separately for help but still 45 minute wait.

I have read a lot of reviews dinging this resort for not living up to the Waldorf Astoria name. While I can understand some of the issues, I cannot, however, agree with their overwhelming negativity.

The resort resides on the coastline in the Fajardo region of Puerto Rico, about 45 minutes outside of San Juan. This section of the island is home to quiet beaches and the famous bio-bay. I recommend getting a rental car as cabs to San Juan or the surrounding area will add up, while a rental will run you about $20/day.

The resort itself has several restaurants, which are fairly overpriced but that's to be expected when staying on a resort, it is a self-contained ecosystem. They also don't stay open very late so if you come back from the bio-bay and have the munchies, you're stuck with room service or expensive delivery pizza.

There are 3 sections of the resort you can stay in. The top, the Olas (middle) and the Marina. I stayed in the Marina rooms and will base my review upon that fact. The marina is, no joke, a 15 minute walk from the lobby due to the elevator and incline ride you have to take down the mountain. You will be surrounded by the ocean, marina, rain forest, and water park on all four sides. Its absolutely gorgeous and you are steps from the ferry which takes you to the resort's private island, Palamino.

Now, I know this is a Waldorf Astoria and people will take that name into consideration but the rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, and location is amazing. It is not as pristine and, ahem, snobby as a metropolitan Waldorf Astoria can tend to be, but for an oceanfront resort, you will be very happy with...

An Unforgettable Escape at Las Casitas Village!

Las Casitas Village offers an unparalleled luxury experience that truly earns its 5-star rating. From the moment you arrive, you're enveloped in an atmosphere of relaxation and indulgence. The sheer variety of restaurant options means there's something to satisfy every craving, and with plenty of pools to choose from, you can always find your perfect spot, whether you're looking for lively family fun or a tranquil escape.

For families, the Coquí Water Park is an absolute blast, providing hours of entertainment for all ages. And for the ultimate beach day, Palomino Island is a true paradise with its crystal-clear waters – it's an idyllic escape just a short boat ride away. Don't even get me started on El Cafecito; their coffee is nothing short of amazing and the perfect start to your day. As evening approaches, the live music transforms the resort into a vibrant dance floor, offering a marvelous way to unwind.

Beyond the major attractions, the resort boasts an impressive array of amenities for all ages, from pool tables and ping pong to video games, ensuring there's never a dull moment. However, the standout feature was undoubtedly having our own dedicated butler. This personalized service made our stay feel truly catered to, anticipating our needs and exceeding our expectations at every turn. Las Casitas Village isn't just a place to stay; it's an experience to be savored. We can't...

I had an amazing stay. I stayed at villa 5507 next to the concierge. Elizabeth was so kind & accommodating. Eddie my butler- I did not see much of him. He was not available but he was very responsive & very kind carried all my bags to my room upon arrival. Steban really served as my butler although he wasn’t he gave me a tour of the island- he gave me great recommendations anytime I seen him passing by he always spoke & asked if I needed anything! Camillo -who works at the Italian restaurant was extremely professional and gave me a great recommendation on food option! The food was I would say a 6/10. The drinks were a 6.5/10. But the aesthetic . The scenery & my room was wonderful. I was able to get a golf cart to make my commute through out the resort easier. The staff I could brag about all day. They literally made my stay more enjoyable. Me personally- was treated like royalty the entire time. The infinity pool & Jacuzzi was breath taking. The pool was room temp which was perfect. Never crowded none of the days I stayed. I think the only downside which wasn’t really a down side cause it was consumable was the...
