Café Playero has delicious food for reasonable prices, plus the atmosphere is so relaxing and friendly! The employees wear Hawaiian shirts and are all very friendly and welcoming.
Cheo and Andrea in particular made our visit so lovely. As a half Puerto Rican experiencing my first time on the island, I felt so welcomed by them. They answered so many questions about the menu, Puerto Rican food in general, and even helped us plan some of the rest of our stay here, telling us where to find hard to find Puerto Rican classics I’ve been missing like arroz con gandules (Kiosko Luquillo, apparently!).
Lunch was so good that we decided to go back for dinner. The restaurant is also right next to a little park with a playground for kids, and a beach you can walk on depending on the tide. There is both outdoor and covered indoor seating.
All in all a 10/10 place we would go back to if we had more time in Fajardo! Thank you Andrea and Cheo, both for the great food, and for...
Read moreSuper cute restaurant by the sea! Majority oc their seating is outside with only 2 large tables inside. I love that they bring the food in To go boxes. I’m Sure it’s more convenient for them and if you have leftovers, you’re reAdy to go. Price for food and drinks are REASONABLE! You get great portions, no one in my party finished the food. The food was well seasoned!!! Really a home made feel that you don’t get from The restaurant in San Juan. The drinks are delicious and have a good amount of alcohol that keeps you feeling good but functional. You can also just get drinks and take them with you from their bar which we did as we waited. You get to watch all the people driving into the beach, there’s free parking across from the restaurant snd $5 parking behind it on this mountain. Beautiful views for pictures and videos. Make sure to take a picture by the PR flag paining in the park. Also, have your phone ready during the drive, the Mountain...
Read moreUpdate: Very disappointed in our visit today! We waited over an hour for our food and they weren't busy, drinks took forever to come out too. Other families got there after us and got their food before us. The food wasn't even good and only one of our meals was warm! We had 3 added fees on our bill, including a charge for Nutella that we specifically said no Nutella. The Nutella & fruit came with the meal but was extra charges this time. It seemed like a tourist trap, even though we had been there before. Even after we got our food, locals got there and their food came out right away! Very disappointed and we won't be back! We didn't complain, at that point it wasn't worth it, we just paid the $86(4people) and left. I love supporting local businesses & don't mind spending money but this...
