Mini Boat Adventures — Attraction in Fajardo

10/10 a do-again experience. Kevin was awesome and made the afternoon.

First a quick note on some of the reviews we read that gave these guys, 1- or 2- star reviews. There are a few with some Karens complaining about the ocean being too wavy and bumpy. These should be deleted by Google, as those are customers with a rating of 1/10. You are going into the ocean except bumps and waves.

Back to this review. We were looking for snorkeling tours for a day trip in the afternoon. Most of the big-name tours were full. We came across this one and called to book, but there was no answer. However, they called us back 10 minutes later. +2

They booked us over the phone for that day. +1

After a very quick rundown on their boats, we hit the water to head out to the first cool spot. Kevin shared some hurricane and Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean) knowledge with us. +1

Next stop: Kevin put us in the right spot to see a bunch (five to seven) of sea turtles. +2 Next stop: snorkeling with a quick reef tour. +1 Second to last stop: at the beach, which puts most US beaches to shame. +1 Finally, a drive past the lighthouse, the large resorts, and sites on that end of the island. +1

Finally, back at the docks, Kevin's final moment of excellence was to say, "Leave all the equipment and trash on your boat; I'll clean it up." So we did and stopped into Salabos rooftop bar to grab a drink. +1

Great pictures and tons of fun to get to that 10 out of 10 for the day.

Great afternoon, and highly recommend this. Unless you hate fun and are going to cry about the ocean...

The day we booked to do our mini boat adventure they called and told us due to the weather it would not be safe to go. We easily rescheduled for the next day and showed up and got our orientation and were out on the ocean when when the weather went south again. If you're not aware, the weather can change quickly in Puerto Rico. The decision was made to cancel the trip and we had to head back. Refunds were automatic and they took care of everything. The staff was super awesome at every point (even when we called and said we were lost trying to find free parking lot - it was right in front of us). We were only out for about 30 minutes but it was incredibly fun and you can just tell this was going to be the highlight of our trip. Beyond that, they provide all the gear you need (life jacket, mask, snorkel), cooler full of beverages/fresh fruit, dry sack for anything you want to bring, and they even take pictures for you if you don't want to risk bringing your camera/phone. Staff was friendly and very energetic. In the 30-45 minutes we were out both my wife had a blast even though it started raining and the waves were getting big. Honestly, on the way back we both agreed this mini boat adventure was worth visiting Puerto Rico again next year so we will be back JUST to do this adventure.

My biggest recommendation, don't wait until the last day or two of your trip like we did to book...

We booked the Mini Boat Adventures as a family of five. Three of us went on one boat and 2 of us on another. The day we went a total of five boats were booked. We had to wait quite a bit for one of the guides. who was late, which was unfortunate. However, the staff gave us excellent safety instructions and life jackets were required. The boats all went single file across the bay. Our boat was last, and when moving fast, the boats really pack a bounce, even on a day without wind. The location where the boats stopped for snorkeling was not great; it's clear the reefs have suffered a lot and we didn't see a ton of fish. The boats did include fins and snorkels for everyone, which was really handy. I appreciated the eco-friendly aspect of the company, which made sure everyone understood to be careful around the reef. The tour said it would include snacks and I was skeptical, but much to my surprise, they were adequate and diverse--snack bars, fruit cocktail cups, sodas and capri suns and even pringles. I appreciated that we didn't need to bring our own snacks. The best part was riding on the boat and feeling the wind and water on you. I could have done it all day. Overall, this was very much worth it, but it's not for someone who doesn't like a bit of a bounce or who gets...
