Cafe Bella Vista — Restaurant in Fajardo

We ate here twice simply because the kids were enjoying the pool and we didn’t want to drag them away from it. One time was absolutely awful and the other was mediocre. Friday night, our drinks took 45 minutes to arrive and when they arrived, only 4 of the 6 of us had drinks because the waitress forgot the others and those poor two souls waited 10 more minutes. The drinks were good, and I honestly would have had more than one if she’d bothered to check in with us or deliver anything in a timely manner. The dinner arrived an hour and a half after we ordered (except for the boys’ pizza which showed up with the drinks) and everything was cold, cold, cold. The waitress offered to get new plates of food for us but, honestly, after waiting that long for food there was no way we were chancing waiting again. We ordered appetizers that showed up with our dinner. I ordered the stuffed plantain dinner and was horrified when it showed up with nasty ground taco meat and canned nacho cheese on it. After eating some authentic canoas de platanos earlier at Loquillo Beach, I was absolutely appalled at the version that an establishment like Waldorf Austoria would serve its clientele. So, I scraped off the Taco Bell quality stuffing and just ate the cold plantain. Saturday night, we ordered smarter: classic bar food like the quesadilla and wings and the food was warm and edible. Our server that night was extremely personable and fun. He was a bit quicker than the woman before but not exactly stellar.

In short, do NOT take risks. Order simple bar food. Do not expect even half way decent service. The live music, pool, breeze, convenience and views are the only things that this restaurant has going for it. I would really recommend hopping in the car and driving down to Las Casitas Picadera & Cafe in Fajardo instead of eating here. A third of the price and a million times better. It’s family owned and the service is impeccable and the food is authentic...

Terrible service.

Server just gave food n left. Would not come to check if we need anything (which we did!). Could not see any server at all, they were just chatting with each other behind the bar.

They weren’t even that busy. Finally asked some random staff for help, he said he’ll get someone yet no one still came. When she finally came, the food was too cold to eat.

Food was average or below average depending on what you get. Fish burger was bland. Pizza was decent. But steak was terrible and they don’t have steak knives..so have fun using a blunt butter knife or using your hands like we had to.

Good place, enjoyed the pizzas. The dough is fresh and yummy. The cheese pizzas for kids were great.

We went to this place twice for lunch. The first time we had the pizzas which were amazing. The veggie pizza had high quality veggies. But the waitress was a little forgetful of our order and had to remind her twice.
