Great Hotel. Rooms are big and very clean. The location is near several stores and restaurants within walking distance. Also near a beautiful bike path for those who love to exercise. I chose this Hotel as a treat for my six-month pregnant fiance' and two daughter's (respectively 3 and 4 years of age). However, the Hotel General Manager turned this "treat" into a "trick." On my second day there, the GM knocked on the door and immediately accused my fiance' and myself of "smoking marijuana" in the room. Stunned at this false allegation, we invited the GM into the room to dispel this crazy allegation and reminded her that we have TWO children in the room. The GM declined the offer to enter to see if such allegations were true but instead now insisted that "we" have marijuana in our possession because she can "smell it." We then invited her to come in and search for this so-called marijuana, she again declined to do so but continued to accuse us in the presence of our children that we were using drugs? Shocked? The GM then stated that she knew it had to be this room because we were the ONLY ones in this particular area? Aside from us clearly knowing this was not true given the amount of doors slamming you will hear clearly throughout the day of guests coming in and out of the hall area, this was further proved untrue when we noticed one of the house keepers cleaning the room out literally next to ours? Make no MISTAKE, this was very degrading and disrespectful to do in front of my children who has never seen or heard of their Dad using drugs. And this GM made no attempts to censor her behavior or language in front of my daughter's. And she obviously wasn't aware that she was also alleging this drug usage to a six-month pregnant woman who also does not smoke marijuana. Let me state for the record, that I do smoke cigarettes and that is the extent of it. I do not even drink alcohol. All of this is verifiable. Aong with my small-business, I also work closely with the Madison Police Department on community initiatives and have never been known to use "marijuana." IF this ONLY me that this GM subjected this disrespect to, I would let it go. But because she had to perform this act of profiling this interacial couple with interacial chidren in front of my whole family, legal action will be explored as I do believe this was a classic case of racial profiling. This lady is sick. Otherwise, the staff were pleasant and the stay is well worth it to those who aren't interacial. Oh, when I told the GM that I would like to file a complaint, she snarled and said, call the...

Outdated and UNFRIENDLY - there are better places to stay in Madison

Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for decent hotel accommodations in the Madison area. The customer service at this hotel is the absolute worst I've experienced at any hotel or resort stay. The staff seemed like they did not care at all about the guests, the experience, or the hotel. My request for an early arrival was never noted when I called weeks ahead due to my flight arriving earlier than anticipated check-in. The agent acted like I was an inconvenience when I arrived early to check-in even though I had called weeks prior. Upon check-in, I gave my personal credit card for incidentals and noted that the corporate card on file should be utilizing for room/tax/fees, etc. In addition, as someone who has a severe feather/down allergy, I always call prior to my stay to ensure that my room only has hypoallergenic/polyester pillows upon my arrival. I did this when I called about the early arrival weeks earlier but apparently this was also not noted. I had to open up every single pillow case and cover to find the feather pillows and ensure that they were put to the side. Luckily, there were enough polyester pillows to use during my stay. Unluckily enough, my hands and face itched the entire evening. In addition, daily housekeeping service is not the standard at this hotel and you have to call daily to request. Even if you do request, like I did on Sunday evening along with pillow replacements, you do not receive housekeeping service. When I called about this miss, I was met with no apology, no solution, and no emotion - just an OK and then a hang up on the phone. In addition, when I mentioned the pillows for a 3rd time, an employee entered my room while my DND sign was on the door and delivered one pillow and extra pillowcases. My room was in desperate need of a deep clean and my toilet actually came up off the floor and the bathroom tiles were cracked. When utilizing the pool on two occasions, I noticed that children of employees were also utilizing the pool as well. Once was a young boy who spent about an hour in the hot tub...and since I was the only other adult in the pool area with him, I did not feel comfortable utilizing the hot tub myself and kept my distance in the space. Upon check-out, my personal credit card was charged for everything when I had previously noted that the corporate card on file should be charged. This took almost two days to correct from calling the hotel, then the manager, and...

Grace was great, however the manager Dawn seemed to have not had a liking to our skin tone or maybe it was favoritism to her skin tone I’m unsure. I turned a one week holiday visit into a 21 day stay due to extended family in the area. There were no problems, my children and I were always out of the way we kept a low profile while here in the room. We’ve heard various loud noises throughout our stay. I have a toddler that has 2 different types of seizures he had several while there from loud noises. They actually placed a stampede or a marching band right above us two nights in a row and I didn’t complain. They received one noise complaint from an older gentleman directly next door from us and it may have been a little noisy it was 12:46pm in the afternoon when Dawn called. I advised my twins to keep it down right away when she called. Dawn stated the man next door complained and I had to move him to another room. I’m letting you know there will be no extending of your stay tomorrow and I’m letting you know today as if I wasn’t fully aware of my stay which is why we were to check-out the next day 12/21/22 @ 11:00am. It’s the principle I know that’s how she felt when she seen Grace check us in she just didn’t have any HOTEL CHARGES against us I’m guessing, she proceeds to say this isn’t an extended stay which I’m fully aware and didn’t understand why that was said. I booked the first two weeks online and the last week with the front desk directly so an additional incidental fee wouldn’t be charged to my card. If my children were noisy I don’t think we would have managed 3 weeks. When we arrived she introduced herself as the mean one, WOW that RINGS TRUE. That was our first interaction makes so much sense now. I always meet a Scrooge around the holidays seriously. I will be reaching out to corporate…2...

I had never stayed at a Wyndham Gardens property before; I doubt I will again. Was in Madison for a wedding and picked this site based on online reviews. My experience: PRICE: There was a big University of Wisconsin game, so every hotel in the area was jacking up prices. We paid at least $100 more than we would on a non-game weekend. Not specific to the Wyndham Gardens, but never appreciate price gouging. SERVICE: Between my sister (also staying at this property), we had contacted this hotel three times in advance about early check-in. We hoped at least one of our rooms might be ready 90 minutes early so we could change into our wedding attire. On the phone we were told there could be no guarantee, but the hotel would try as best as possible to accommodate. When we showed up at the property before the wedding, the desk clerk assertively made it clear this was NEVER going to happen. Lets just say there was no attempt to 'best accommodate.' CLEANLINESS: We ended up changing for the wedding in the hotel's public bathrooms. The stall in the men's room was quite nasty; look at the photo. ROOM: We didn't get to check-in until after the wedding that night. Our rooms were relatively clean -- there was some trash left in the shelves under the bathroom sink -- but everything was dated. The bed was hard as a rock and the AC airflow was inconsistent throughout the night. BREAKFAST: The "free" continental breakfast was average: nothing exceptional, but nothing bad either.

Wishing I would have stayed where I was at the AmericInn because the breakfast really lacks here, no bananas, no sliced strawberries for the waffles, no mixed fruit assortment (i.e. melon, grapes, pineapple), no toppings for oatmeal (which only comes in instant packets). For a while I thought there weren't going to be any eggs. It almost feels like a Rodeway or Super 8 type breakfast, and this is supposed to be Wyndham's top of the line? Both treadmills are broken. The shower door has pretty bad signs of water damage and the one piece of furniture in the room other than the desk chair looks like something out of a 1950s VA hospital. The bed is like a board and the pillows aren't comfortable. If you're thinking of getting hot water for tea from the thermos in the lobby, think again, because you'll be in for a pleasant surprise when you take that first sip of lukewarm refreshment.

4 miles from the capital building. Right next to a strip mall with a pick quick grocery, Verizon, Panera Bread & many other convenient places. The rooms are beautiful (large gaps under the door but still was a pretty quiet room) temperature was perfect and easy to regulate with the air. Pool was very nice and clean. The staff has been amazing! So helpful and accommodating. Was a little disappointed yesterday when there was only 1 girl working so had to go get my own extra towels but she was very nice about it. When we decided to stay an extra night on a whim, Jessica at the front desk was more than helpful and got us moved to another room and checked in at 9:30 in the morning. That meant a lot (not having to pack all up and wait till 3:00 check in again). All in all I would definitely come back!
