My wife & I have stayed here previously. We are professional drivers and are choice rewards members. We are in a different hotel every night. We decided to give this place another chance. Here is our review. Limited large vehicle & 18wheeler parking by TA is a plus. Closeness to the freeway is a plus. Staff was the same as the previous lady. Completely RUDE. Pot smell knock you down at front door. We observed an elderly couple that were hard of hearing attempt to check in but was being laughed at by the front desk. Then, we observed the front desk harassing other professional drivers by asking for complete license plate numbers & vehicle description, not just the company name & truck number, then having them show her their truck on the security screen. This facility has a sign that says please have a drivers license and a form of payment ready to speed up the check-in process. My wife has everything my drivers license, her drivers license, my credit card, the service dog paperwork, the choice rewards account number, and I am required by the front desk to come in and sign everything. It's no big deal, right? Well, again, it's the complete license plate number, description of the truck, make model & show lady on security screen. We asked for a single bed but was given a room with 2 double beds after being told the prices & the difference of price for each room. We were assigned to the more expensive room. This person checked us into the room already occupied. When we swiped our card, the door flashed green, but the door remained locked on the 3rd attempt. A naked bearded man peeked around the door, so we notified the front desk & and room was changed. Later, when my wife took the service dog out, this woman followed my wife down the hall, calling her a liar that the original room was occupied.
Then the rooms are smelly, beds are hard as rocks, bathrooms have mold, and airfreshners down the hall in an attempt to mask the problem instead of fixing it correctly. We were placed in the last room at the end of the hall & the exterior & interior hall doors slammed the entire night. Walls were paper thin. We could hear neighbors' conversations even though they were not arguing, just normal volume. The shower knob was broken and had to be positioned just right to have any kind of hot water. IF YOU CAN GET PAST THE RUDE OBNOXIOUS WOMAN AT THE FRONT DESK & THE SMELLS, MOLD, LARGE DOGS BARKING ANYTIME ANYONE WALKED THE HALL. THIS PLACE MIGHT WORK FOR YOUR 10-hour break or 1 night. Our experience every time we attempted to stay at this location has not been comfortable...
Read moreCan't believe this place averages a 4 star review. It is the epitome of "lipstick on a pig". The lobby is nice if outdated and smells very clean. Entering the room the smell changes to a stale odor. There probably hasn't been any updates other than paint and caulk for 20 years and I'm guessing the furniture is older yet. The TV is smaller than most bedrooms have nowadays and the remote has no functions other than channel and volume. Wanna know what's on? Too bad, there is no guide function and not even a list of channels in the room. I could survive these things but the bathroom is where things got bad. There is mold all over the shower ceiling and it's obvious that it's just been painted over several times. The drywall behind the sink is crumbling. The toilet seat won't stay up. Everything in there just gives you the creeps. Speaking of creeps, the peephole is taped over from the inside of the room. I don't know why anyone would do this unless there was a problem and if there has been a problem then I'd use something other than green painters tape. I'm gonna report this place to Quality though I don't know if they care anymore, their franchising standards are garbage at this point. And yes, this place is...
Read moreThe good: Very convenient, right off the I-70 ramp; helpful staff. The average: Rooms are a bit dated, but generally clean and well-kept.
But (and realizing that I have a very sharp sense of smell even at 68), I noticed the obvious odor of cigarette smoke even in the lobby as soon as I walked in, and after entering the hallway to the room smelled it even stronger. My "non-smoking" room also had an odor of smoke but not as bad as in the hall, so I asked for the desk to spray odor disinfectant and she very nicely did and was just as cordial when I asked an hour later if another room was available. I was moved, and did not immediately smell smoke in that room, but when I went to bed found that odor again on the bed clothes and/or the pillows and it made my rest more difficult. I know it's difficult to keep people from smoking where they shouldn't, but that's no help to someone who really appreciates a clean-smelling room.
Bottom line is that if the odor of smoking isn't a factor for you you'll likely enjoy staying here, but if it is, you may not find it to be a pleasant experience. If I hadn't already past the time when I could have cancelled my room I would have done so and found another...
