Our family reunion was in Fort Smith and Hampton Inn was selected as the hotel that we would use as our accommodations. Upon checking in we were greeted by very nice front desk ladies, I believe the young ladies were Bria and Kristin. The check-in was effortless and initially all seemed to be going well. My immediate family requested two rooms (one of them being handicap for my father) my sister begins to spray the rooms and bedding with peppermint oil and water and sure enough a spider comes crawling on the bed (not a big deal cause it is kindda a small creature). The evening goes on and all is well, we are all having a great time. The next day after breakfast, I need to use the women's restroom and being that my room is a little farther then I am, I decide to use the ladies room closet to the HOPE meeting room. After using the facilities I attempt to leave the restroom and to my surprise, the door handle turns but the door will not open up from the inside (mind you this is NOT a door that locks) I continue to try to pry the door open and then decide to call my sister who is in the hotel room. she comes to the restroom only to find that she can't open the door from the outside either. I call the front desk and let them know I am in locked in the restroom. About 5 minutes later a young man ( I believe his name was Drew) shows up trying to pry the door open. After he confirms that the door is INDEAD stuck he leaves to try to get some type of tools to pry the door open. Drew comes right back and I hear him trying with all his might to get the door open. He tells me that he needs to leave one more time but he will be back (at this point I have been locked in the restroom for about 15 minutes) Drew returns and this time tells me to stand back, I hear a lot of prying and banging but still that door is not budging. Once again I am left and this time Drew comes back and I can hear him talking with others while banging on what seems like the hinges. Finally about 35-40 minutes in to my quick bathroom run I see the hinges being removed and the door is pryed open enough for me to squeeze out. Drew apologizes for the inconvenience and I go on my way. Now at this point, I have made a FaceBook Post, and Snapchat video and Googled how to get out of a locked bathroom. As I am walking through the hotel a couple hours later, I see that there is not a sign on the door and it completely pisses me off because, I know that door is still broken and I know there are several small children in this hotel. In addition to the 10-15 children we had in our party under 10 years old, there were a few little league teams staying at the hotel as well. My concern was "what if one of them children go in there and get locked in" it is obvious not a high traffic area because when I was knocking from the inside no one heard me. I waited to the evening to speak with Bria (who informed me that she was a manager) to ask her about the outcome of the locked door situation. Bria was aware of the situation but didn't know the details, I informed her what happened, told her my concerns and asked that a manager contact me. Bria agreed that a notice should be placed on the door, however I don't recall seeing a notice on the door the remainder of our stay. This happened 4 days ago and I have been checked out of the hotel for 3 days, I still have not heard from a manager and find it a little disheartening that Hampton Inn management doesn't feel a need to reach out to it's guest to offer an apology, assure the guest that the problem with the faulty door has been corrected or see exactly what happen. I am not sure what the laws are in Arkansas, however I can assure you that had that been where I live in California and something of that magnitude happen someone would be answering to management and perhaps others because a guest being locked in a restroom presents all types of...

We arrived at the hotel around 3:30pm and checked in. The room was clean, and the jetted tub very inviting. My wife was under the impression that the indoor pool was heated, and so we got our swimming clothes on and went down to check it out. The little kiddie pool was definitely heated, but the bigger pool was bone chilling cold. So, we opted to head back to our room. On the way, my wife stopped off at the front desk to request some extra pillows. Due to her health condition, my wife needs more pillows to support herself throughout the night. She was told that they would get them up to us. This was around 4:30. at 5:30 my wife called the front desk to request pillows again. It had been a long day, and we both wanted to lay down to rest but there weren't enough pillows for both of us. Over the phone, my wife was told that they would bring them up, even after offering to go down to retrieve them herself. At 6:30 my wife went back down to the front desk to get the pillows. Apparently shift change had happened, and our request was forgotten. As my wife was talking with the new attendant at the front desk, the previous woman that was there snuck up behind my wife to tell the new person that my wife was there for pillows. Then she went on to complain about her hand being swollen and hurting and that's why we didn't get our pillows. I can forgive the the awful night's sleep I just got due to the uncomfortable bed. I can forgive waking up in the middle of the night sweating because the A/C reset itself and shut off. Hell, I can even forgive the toilet seat falling down while I'm mid-stream and splashing urine all over my legs. What I cannot forgive, is on one of the worst days of my wife's life, she is made to feel insignificant and rejected by the people being paid to provide the simplest hospitality services. We are in town for my wife to have a battery of cancer tests done, and we CHOSE to get a room at this hotel in order to have a little escape from the nightmare life we are enduring. Instead, the rude staff here robbed us of our temporary reprieve.
So, that's...
Read moreChose this hotel to stay at while attending drill weekend because of late check out option and they allow pets. I needed late checkout so my daughter and dogs had a place to stay while I finished drill. Leaving them sitting out in the parking lot for hours just wasn't an option for me. I paid both fees. Sunday while at drill this hotel called my unit TWICE asking my supervisors to make me to come get my dogs, daughter and things out of my room right away. I called back to talk to Katie that it was confirmed with 2 employees that late checkout, I even repeated it a few times while checking in to make sure everything was set up. She mentioned there were no notes and the man checking me in must have forgotten to add them. She said she would let the general manager know, and then followed up asking a time that I would come get my things out of my room. Around 2:30pm I returned to the hotel to pick up my daughter, dogs and items before heading back home to St. Louis, MO. I attempted to go in a side door and my card had been shut off. Walked around to the front and let the manager know, and he turned it back on for me. Go up to the room which was extremely hot!! I did not know it was even possible, but the hotel actually shut off the air conditioner while my daughter and dogs were in the room! Anyone familiar with Arkansas knows how hot it can get and how quickly the temperature will rise in 90 degree temperatures. Overall disgusted with this hotel. I PAID for an extra service which resulted in being harassed at work, disrespected and treated as if I was in the wrong. I will now choose one of the other hotel options for drill weekend. I have heard other stories of their poor treatment of service members at this particular location, I really hope the military drops their contract and finds a customer...
