I'm a travel nurse, and i stayed at this hotel for a few weeks and loved it. then one day I checked in early one day to an empty room after work to sleep before my next shift. They put me in a room right next to the staircase on the upstairs. All day long people were stomping up and down the stairs and down the hallway. OK, no big deal, it's a hotel during the day, I get that. I know it won't always be quiet. Then I get downstairs and it's decorated for a party... So I ask what happened and they say it was their Grand Opening today. Which I didn't understand because they've been there for a while, but whatever. I asked if they wouldn't mind letting me know in the future if they were having a party so I could find a quieter place to sleep. The manager abruptly informed me that the party had nothing to do with the noise levels... Ummm yes it did. I've stayed here for the last 3 weeks and it was never this loud. But I just shrug it off. Whatever, there probably won't be parties all the time, so no big deal. In the middle of checking out some girls came up to the counter with sodas they wanted to buy instead of waiting in line and the staff stopped checking me out to help them. OK then, a little weird, and a little rude, and my nerves are starting to get frayed at this point. Then they look at me and say "What do you want?" I smile and say I need to check out. The rude manager then pipes up and says "We can't check you out, we filled up today, you have to have the room for another night." Ok. Firstly, the hotel was far from full when I checked in this morning, so why was I being charged for last night? Secondly, I literally just stood here and listened to you tell your staff that you had three more rooms to sell so you are lying through your teeth. Bit I'm over it and don't want to make a scene so I smile and agree to it, and ask if I have to come back or if they can check me out in the morning without me there because I'm driving home. I go out to the parking lot and think about whether I want to come back to this hotel while I'm putting my bags away, and the rude manager walks out. So I say "Excuse me, I just wanted to say that I was disappointed that I'm being charged for two nights, when I was only here one day and didn't get any sleep because I was placed in a very loud area." Rude manager says "Well you don't have to stay here anymore. I cut you nurses special deals all the time and then you get uppity when I can't do it." What the actual hell? Like I said I checked in early this morning to a half empty hotel, got no sleep, and now have to take care of critically ill patients all night while dog tired. And you aren't booked up, you just said you had rooms to sell right in front of me. I tried talking to her more and she just became increasingly irate and unreasonable. Incredibly rude. A the other staff there have always been great, and the beds and rooms were clean and comfortable, but that woman was horrid. So now I guess I'm finding...
Read moreI travel sometimes as many as 5 days a week for work. For the longest time Best Western was my choice of hotels. Prior to this day all the Best Westerns I've stayed at have been pleasant, clean, quiet and have treated me well. Now I will admit this hotel was pleasant clean and quiet. We have a business account that we use for our hotel stays but we are often asked to use a personal card for incidentals. After I checked out of the hotel I noticed that I had pending charges on my personal card for every day that I stayed there so I called the hotel and inquired and was met with a rude front desk employee who told me to call back when my charges post to dispute them since they were just pending. I advised her that I wanted to prevent them from pending even though the pending charges being held from my bank. I was trying to inquire as to why my personal account was being charged as well as my business account the lady at the front desk could not provide me answers but instead referred me to a manager who she stated was not working that day. I never got a call from the manager I had to go through corporate who advised that all the Best Westerns are independently owned. Corporate contact at the hotel and advised that they needed to get in contact with me and the hotel manager left a message with corporate stating that they tried but they got a voicemail that was not set up. I asked corporate to confirm with the hotel what number they had and the hotel admitted that the number that they called was my business account customer service not my actual phone to this day I have not had a phone call an apology or an explanation from the hotel. They did finally reverse the charges but only after my money was held hostage for a week. My call originally was just simply to inquire why my personal card was being charged to which nobody could offer an explanation or even have the decency to call me back with an explanation. I get that mistakes happen, but when nobody will call you back you begin to think that this was done nefariously instead of accidentally. At any rate this Best Western has now made me a la Quinta fan as to now that's my new hotel choice. A simple phone call with an explanation and an apology could have resolved this whole issue but instead of the hotel chose to not own up to their mistake and either try and cover it up or just simply avoid the problem altogether and for that reason I cannot trust Best Western hotels anymore even though I know they are all independently owned this Best Western hardworking...
Read moreOne of the worst rooms we've stayed in. I'm pretty lenient when it comes to places we stay lately because I know everyone is struggling right now. And I hardly ever leave a 1 star review. However, I moved a stool in the room & there was a pair of socks rolled up under it, proving it wasn't vacuumed properly, there was long hairs inside the sheets, lots of hair in the tub drain so you're standing in ankle deep nasty water with stuff floating in it while showering, toliet is pulled away from the wall so your leg hits the wall when you sit down unless you sit on the side, our door wouldn't shut all the way and kept sticking when we tried to open it, there was about an inch even gap at the top of it, the white rags & hand towels had a nasty brown tint to them like they hadn't been washed in bleach in a while, no elevators that we could find and the carpeted stairs were disgusting looking with lots of stains, the parking lot is small with tight spaces, not friendly front desk clerk. The Breakfast area was unacceptable, I understand they don't have to offer one, but since they do, it needs to be better kept. Water labeled as hot was cold so I had to dump out tea because it was gross not hot, Biscuits and Gravy were Luke warm, pancakes super thin and palm size, yogurt comes out of a machine and smelled sour, milk was in a pitcher beside microwave not cold when poured in cup, scrambled eggs were super light in color almost white, apple juice was clear and tasted severely watered down, no knives or spoons, very small selection of pastry items. When anything was brought to the front clerks attention, she'd roll her eyes and go search for stuff. We arrived for breakfast as she was opening everything up, so it's not like it had been sitting there for hours. She couldn't find any knives, and said that was as hot as the faucet would pour out for the hot water. No one makes hot tea with faucet hot water lol. Huge safety issue-Only one entrance/exist in the front. The side door going out to the pool was locked because they had emptied the pool out for cleaning. For the price of this hotel, just save your money & sleep in your car. We've stayed in 5 hotels in the last month, the price of this one is right up there with our other hotels. And it should be a $50 a night room at best. We've stayed at cheaper holiday inns that had full hot breakfast bar, super clean rooms, and roomy...
