What can I say about my stay except you get what you pay for. $74 a night was the online price (I suggest you book there) when I called the angry Indian man quoted me $90 a night. So I booked online. When I was heading to texas for my business I noticed it said my booking was for a smoking room (I didn’t realize that was even a thing anymore) I tried calling to change it but to no avail there were no more rooms available. When I arrived on Friday night there were numerous questionable people fixing cars in the parking lot and staring at all the people arriving. Needless to say I’m glad I didn’t spend long at the room Friday night although I was worried about my truck being broken into. Saturday night was completely different almost like those people had to vacate on Saturday’s for visitors who were going to the stockyards. By the way the stockyards were not within walking distance. you may be able to walk the half hour it would take but there’s not many sidewalks between the motel and the stockyards. Aside from the yellowing on the walls from cigarette smoke in my room, the caked up air conditioning filters and the questionable people on Friday night in the parking lot it was an ok stay. At least there were no bugs. Would I stay here again, absolutely not. But this does not reflect all motel 6s because I’ve had several stays in motel 6s that were very very pleasant. I had made reservations for my husband online, once I saw that my phone had made the wrong dates on the reservation, I had called the hotel right away to fix my reservation for the right date. Well let me say the man that answered indain accent was incredible rude and yelling at me! I’m not sure if he was having trouble understanding English or just not having a good day! Or what his issue was, but I had given him the reservation # and name and he was just not having it. I asked him politely why was he yelling at me?? And why is he being so rude?? I told him I’m not trying to cancel I’m just trying to get booked for the right date! He insisted on yelling, when I asked to speak to a manager he said in a very ugly way he was the manager and he did not want to help me or fix my issue. So I said okay thank you I will be glad to cancel and leave a review. With his response was F&@K my reviews and F&$K me! I wish Motel 6 had recordings so they can hear how ugly and rude they sound on the phone! If some people can’t understand English than don’t own a business that requires you to know English 90% of the time! It’s ridiculous how people get to just understand simple English!! Worth to attend a religious/party event which lasted almost 10 hours total, and wanted to not have to drive 30 or so miles back in the wee hours. We chose the Northside Motel 6 as it advertised 2 large beds and would fit our needs at what we consider a very low price. I did the check-in for everyone around 6 pm while others were already at the event, and the desk clerk ( sorry I don't know his name), was very accommodating and personable. I was surprised that the room had been updated with new linens, newish attractive black counters, white basin, bathtub and newish tile and paint. I would really consider this experience among the very best for a low cost place to stay with my family. I was not at all disappointed in price, nor service. Depending on where you are coming from on your approach, you might have to pay attention to your gps to negotiate the exits and entrances and curves near the hotel to enter. For a low cost hotel, this was one of my best experiences. Forgot to say there were both microwave and small fridge, also like new. I would not hesitate to stay with these people again.
