Did you know there’s a whole Cathedral Valley Tour? This remote and rugged district of Capitol Reef National Park features hoodoos, stunning monoliths, and volcanic domes and crags, making for a one-of-a-kind adventure. SAVE to plan your trip. 1. Ford the Fremont River off of Hartnet Road. See below for water depth. 2. Bentonite Hills 3. Lower South Desert Overlook 🥾 .5 mile walk to Jailhouse and Temple Rocks + hoodoos 🥾4.5 mile hike out to the the monoliths 4. Lower Cathedral Valley Overlook 🥾2 miles for a bird’s eye view of the Temples of the Sun and Moon 5. Upper South Desert Overlook 🥾 .4 miles View the sweeping valley vistas filled with black volcanic dikes reminiscent of the Black Crystal IYKYK. 6. Upper Cathedral Valley Overlook 🥾 .2 miles enjoy a picnic lunch at the tables enjoying the panoramice views of The Cathedrals 7. Stop at the Campground to utilize the restroom (your only available) 🥾 .4 miles hike to the Historic Morrell Cabin 8. Cathedrals Trail 🥾If you only do one hike DO NOT miss this one. 2.4 miles for stunning views 9. Gypsum Sinkhole 10. Glass Mountain-a 15 ft tall mound of Gypsum crystals don;t miss it 11. Temples of the Sun and Moon End your tour at this iconic stop with these massive monoliths. Pro Tips then the trip details: 🗺️Obtain a map/info brochure from the Capitol Reef website or visitor center. 🛻Requires high clearance but not necessarily 4WD (8 inches typically) Water depth for River Ford is found on the park website or by calling 435-425-3791, then press 1, then 4. 🌧️Check the weather before you go. Roads become impassable when wet. 🛞💦🥪Come prepared with maps, spare tires, plenty of water and food. There is no cell service, and the remote region receives few visitors. 🦶Stay off any cryptobiotic soil. 🚻Bathrooms only at the Cathedral Valley or pack it out. ⛺️Camping within the park boundaries is permitted only at the Cathedral Valley Campground. FREE Camp spots are first come, first served. Would you take the whole tour? #capitolreefnationalpark #visitutah #hikingadventures #hikingutah #beutahful #roadtrip

Wow! The Juniper cabin at Capitol Reef Cabins is amazing! We had the pleasure of staying at the cabin this past week and could not have been happier with our stay. The cabin provided us with an unforgettable experience that blended comfort and luxury with beautiful awe-inspiring views of the surrounding landscape. The cabin’s sleek and contemporary design effortlessly compliments its natural surroundings. The attention to detail was evident in every nook and cranny, from the tasteful decor to the cozy furnishings. The use of large windows allowed abundant natural light to flood the interior, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The cabin has all the amenities for a comfortable stay. The fully equipped kitchen made it a breeze to prepare meals and enjoy them on the large deck overlooking the park’s magnificent vistas. The spacious living area provided the perfect space to unwind after a day of hiking and enjoy the cozy fireplace during the cooler evenings. All three bedrooms were equipped with plush beds furnished with soft linens and fluffy pillows; each with their own skylight to view the beautiful dark sky and all its stars. There is also a private deck off the Master bedroom with seating to enjoy a private little sanctuary of relaxation. The cabin is located within a 7-minute drive to the entrance of Capitol Reef National Park. It provided easy access to the park’s hiking trails, scenic drives, and iconic landmarks. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone seeking a memorable and rejuvenating escape in the heart of Utah’s red rock country. We will be back!

Our family recently stayed in the Sage House! I cannot say enough about this incredible cabin. Every inch is perfectly appointed. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare your meals, the bathrooms are spacious and full of light, the bedrooms are plentiful and comfortable, and the family space is a delight with ping-pong and space to share and play. The design is such that each floor is quiet and comfortable, even if there are things happening elsewhere. The deck is perfect for enjoying the spectacular landscape of the area, and watching clouds roll by. I realize that this sounds like a flowery review. I assure you that every word is true. When we had questions for the owners, they were thoroughly and politely answered. Nothing is left to chance! They've thought of everything. There are so many activities close by, including Capital Reef, which is so wonderful. We had 15 people (of all ages) in our group, and there was not a single complaint. We're already planning our next trip!

We had an amazing stay at The Cabins at Capitol Reef! The cabin exceeded our expectations and was even cozier and nicer than we imagined. With two families in one cabin, we had more than enough space to enjoy our trip in the middle of winter. The A-frame cabin has massive windows that face the top of Capitol Reef and provide a stunning view from the main living space on both floors. Sunrise and sunset were particularly beautiful, I couldn't resist getting up early each morning to watch it.

Although the cabin feels secluded, it was only a 2-minute drive to Torrey, which was convenient for meals and any forgotten items. I highly recommend Wild Rabbit for breakfast and coffee. Being so close to the park also made it easy to plan our daily activities and change plans as needed.

I also have to give a special mention to the high-end amenities in this cabin. Everything was top-notch, from the well-appointed bathrooms and fancy silverware to the comfortable couches and integrated Sonos speakers both inside and out. It truly felt like a...
