The food was very delicious and my family was very happy with their meals. The Mac and cheese seemed like a homemade recipe. The pasta was more on the soft side than al dented, but still maintained its structure. The cheese sauce was very creamy and had a surprising smokey taste over all. The Mac and cheese was topped off with amazingly smoked pieces of thick bacon topped with cheese and parsley. The chicken fried steak was a thick slice of steak that had a smokey taste to it. The steak was battered and fried fried perfectly. The steak was topped off with a delicious brown pan gravy. The chicken fried steak was very tender and perfectly cooked. The sirloin steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked to requested temperatures. Unfortunately the biscuits came out to the table burnt and the baked potatoes were over cooked and hard.
The restaurant is decorated in a rustic cowboy theme. My kids really got a kick over the mason jar glasses that the drinks were served in and the spur designs branded into the corners of the table. The only thing missing is the chuck wagon style tin plates.
The restaurant was very busy when we arrived, which to me is a good sign of a healthy restaurant serving food food. We were put on a long waiting list and we had to wait for about 45 minutes before we were seated at our table. The waiting area was furnished with couches and sofas which were very comfortable. The hostess and waitress were very courteous and very friendly. Watching how the staff interacted with each other suggested that they have an enjoyable working environment, which bleeds off to how they treat the customers.
In summary, The food was delicious, the portions were more than expected and no one in my party walked away hungry. Especially those that ordered from the kids menu. The environment was enjoyable and comfortable. I would recommend this steakhouse to anyone, and we will be back the next time we...
Read moreBoth of the menu items we ordered were just ok. We had a nice server. But later realized we were disappointed in her. I had ordered two glasses of Cabernet wine. She charged me for the highest priced Cabernet instead of the house wine (which I wanted). She never asked if I wanted the house or the top most expensive brand. Just went ahead and assumed and charged me for the most expensive Cabernet. I don’t agree with this type of service. They also have complimentary breakfast here for the hotel guests. The hours posted are till 10 AM. I came down at 9:25 and the employee working said, “you barely made it in time” and was starting to put everything away. I quickly made a plate. He had everything put away by 9:45 and I wasn’t able to get anything additional to what I already had. If you post (and tell hotel guests) that your hours are until 10 AM, then probably not a good practice to close...

We had a great experience at the Broken Spur Steakhouse! The loaded potato skins were the perfect way to start—crispy on the outside and loaded (literally) with melty cheese, bacon, sour cream, and chives. So good.
I went with the sirloin steak, and it really impressed me—tender, flavorful, and cooked just right. And for the price? Honestly one of the better steak deals I’ve had in a while. The Caesar salad on the side was fresh, with just the right amount of dressing and crunch.
Dessert was a highlight—we tried both the cheesecake and lava cake, and they were awesome. The cheesecake was creamy and light, and the lava cake was warm, rich, and super satisfying.
The atmosphere was casual and welcoming, and the service was friendly and efficient. If you’re in Torrey, definitely make time for a meal here....
