My family and I had the absolute worst experience staying there a single night yesterday. Check in was okay, front desk staff seemed very eager to get us into our rooms, didn't think anything of it. Got to the room, it was okay, there was a dead fly on my bed, i had to stay in my other guests bed. Not many options for dinner. We went to a cafe in town. Delicious food. After finally getting off to sleep, the whole hotel was awoken by faulty fire alarms at around 11:55 pm. All guests had to evacuate themselves, no staff on sight. Finally, after pounding on the staff door for 10 minutes a young woman came out of what looked like a bedroom and then proceeded to not talk to anyone but instead lock herself in a closet and call the manager. Apparently this same event had happened at 5 am that morning. Having no staff to acknowledge the situation, we, the customers had to call the fire department because the fire alarm isn't set up to call 911 when it goes off, Such a safety concern. After calling the fire department and 911 for around 20 minutes, the manager finally came into the hotel, refused to speak to anyone, but turned the ear piercing alarm off. There were terrified children outside on the concrete with no idea what was going on and their parents couldn't even give an explanation because they didn't know either. the manager admitted that he was supposed to be there and left the hotel unattended. There was only one staff there on night shift, who wasn't able to speak english well or just chose not to speak, i couldn't tell. They apparently didn't know the cause of the 5 am alarm but this one was triggered by the humidity of the pool. Firetrucks, police officers, and EMS all came, let's just say it was a restless night for everyone, not to mention the alarm went off again for around 10 seconds at about 1 am. In the morning, i tried to get juice, fridge was unplugged and juice was warm, i then went into the breakfast room. It smelt like mold and when i tried to eat a yogurt, it was spoiled. Do not bring your children here. Worst hotel i've ever been to not to mention we didn't get any compensation for the midnight alarm, and the manager just acted like everything was normal when we checked out, no apology or anything. it broke my heart the most seeing a little girl in her pjs wrapped in a baby blanket shedding tears because she was so scared of what was happening. DO NOT BRING...
Read moreI was put into a position where I had to be put up in this hotel for a little over a week. During my stay I have been treated with the utmost respect and kindness I have ever received in my life. My room has been comfortable, well maintained, and an amazing safe space for me.
Jamal, one of the front desk workers, is an absolute angel and deserves a substantial raise. I accidentally set out a bag of laundry (I had been informed of the laundry room, but simply made a mistake about how it worked) outside of my room to be washed. It was accidentally thrown away (my own mistake for placing it there) and when I realized it hadn’t been returned I reached out to the front desk, while Jamal was on shift, and explained the situation. He told me he would check storage, and when I returned to the motel this angel of a man actually spent a little over an hour DIGGING THROUGH THE DUMPSTER to find my lost laundry. He ended up leaving work late and had himself completely covered in trash (he is very well-groomed and professional) and this man. Did. Not. Complain. Once.
I even told him it was okay to cut my losses and he refused to stop, reassuring me it was okay and he wanted to help me. This poor guy, the bag was literally at the back, all the way at the bottom, in the very last bag to be searched through. HE FOUND IT. This man scoured LITERALLY every single nasty trash bag in the dumpster to find me something I had lost by my own fault. I have no idea if he was told to do this or if it was his choice, but I am so beyond grateful for the kindness he showed me.
I cannot explain how well this hotel takes care of its guests. To a manager: please give Jamal a substantial raise and some paid time off for what he had to do. I cannot say how...
Read moreInitially, after reading reviews on this place I was hesitant to book. I did so anyway, and am glad I did. I cannot say enough good things about the location, rooms and staff. First, location. This place is ideally situated between the start of historic Rt12 and the border of Capital Reef National Park. It is literally next to a gas station and a subway sandwich shop. For motorcyclists (as I was) looking to stop for the day without having to get geared up again to get a sandwich and gas after a long day, this is your place. The other reason is because Ahmed Hossain, the owner, aka "Eddie" has clean "motorcycle towels" for use to get the bugs off of your helmet and windscreen after a long ride. The bed was comfortable, the AC, and heat both worked well, the TV had RCA inputs for watching digital photos or video after a day of sightseeing, there is a power strip screwed to the wall right next to the bed, there is a hot tub, and pool which I didn't use, but plenty of others did. Also, what I was most impressed with were the excellent lightbulbs that made you feel like you were in a real homey environment instead of a dimly lit dungeon like some hotels, and the excellent WiFi signal. There are lots of great restaurants nearby too. "Slackers" burger shack is one of my favorites. I think I will have to come back with my wife and kids! Lastly, the price for the room for a Friday night in early May was $85...totaling under $100. Killer deal for what you get. If you expect the Four Seasons, Ritz, or Montage, you are in the entirely wrong part of the country to begin with. Almost forgot the breakfast, which is not fancy, but adequate, yogurt, toast, hard boiled eggs. No...
