I'm sure this was nice in 2011 when this place got an award. Not so much now. I'll give the positives first. Desk staff at check in were pleasant. When I called with a problem they were pleasant. At check out, "meh" was the attitude. Room was quiet except for the ratteling of the AC (it did work). That's about all I got for positives. Negatives were the exterior was extremely dirty. I get the desert dust is hard to stay up on but it's major city pricing and they could do way better. Bird feces all over the ground by entry door. Pool had 4 chairs, 2 were broken and that was all that was there. No handicapped equipment like you see in normal big chain hotel pools. My room had wires hanging from the ceiling were there required by law smoke detector used to be. Heavily stained furniture. Ancient microwave with a huge dent in one corner. It did have a flat screen tv but it was on the desk blocking the wall mirror. Breakfast was super basic. Bed sheet was torn. WiFi worked a total of 1 hour the two days I was there. AT&T cell barely works there so I really needed WiFi. No security on the exterior doors. The furniture in the room looked like it came from a thrift store. Overall, I was able to sleep there but next time I'll try another place down the road. I picked this place for the frequent stay points but I'd suggest trying another place nearby first. Parking lot could accommodated a trailer if the place isn't full.

There is no pool! Don't book a room here. This is why: We prebooked 6 months in advance our three rooms and had five kids with us. So we booked this hotel because of the heated indoor swimming pool. We arrived early (15hrs00) to maximize pool pleasure. After we our arrival registration, after handing back our creditcard, the owner told us the pool was closed, due to precaution of outside freezing of pipes. (He lied; it was 20C° outside and the pool was inside). We asked for 30% discount and demanded a minimum discount of 15%. He refused. When I checked the pool, it was empty and filled with construction and demolition waste. Then I read historical reviews and saw it had been closed for a while, although the historical and current advertisement didn't mention it. We felt scammed. We booked a smokefree petfree room, but the owner had a dog that was free to walk through the hotel. It puked on the floor and there were doghairs everywhere through the hotel. The tried to sweet-talk with the owner, where I discovered that he was a straight Trump-fan. He loves Putin and had several conspiracy theories about Biden. Theories that were actual facts about Trump. Weird. This owner, also receptionist, goes home and waits until his arriving guests call him. It takes him half an hour to arrive. You have to be patient.

We stayed here for three nights in the middle of winter. It was nice to have a hot shower and bed to relax in after visiting the national parks but that's about all you get. There's a pool and a hot tub available but apparently the hot tub is so often unavailable that the "out of order" sign has earned a hard plastic case, semi-permanently affixed to the front counter. The rooms were pretty dirty. There was a questionable stain on one of the box springs - like someone had an accident but the owner didn't want to buy a new one so they just flipped it over. The shower had dirt (maybe mold) settling on top of the walls. There was a very obvious stain on one of the chairs, so obvious that we couldn't believe someone would just leave it there. The dead bolt on the door didn't work. There was no fridge. The wall paper was peeling off the wall in some spots. Perhaps minor considering the other complaints was the heater/AC unit on the wall. There's no climate control so it's either on or off. We had to get up in the middle of the night every few hours to turn it off and then back on again because it was super hot and then super cold and the super hot again. Not the worst experiences of our lives but we'll definitely be trying one of the other hotels next time.

My family and I had the absolute worst experience staying there a single night yesterday. Check in was okay, front desk staff seemed very eager to get us into our rooms, didn't think anything of it. Got to the room, it was okay, there was a dead fly on my bed, i had to stay in my other guests bed. Not many options for dinner. We went to a cafe in town. Delicious food. After finally getting off to sleep, the whole hotel was awoken by faulty fire alarms at around 11:55 pm. All guests had to evacuate themselves, no staff on sight. Finally, after pounding on the staff door for 10 minutes a young woman came out of what looked like a bedroom and then proceeded to not talk to anyone but instead lock herself in a closet and call the manager. Apparently this same event had happened at 5 am that morning. Having no staff to acknowledge the situation, we, the customers had to call the fire department because the fire alarm isn't set up to call 911 when it goes off, Such a safety concern. After calling the fire department and 911 for around 20 minutes, the manager finally came into the hotel, refused to speak to anyone, but turned the ear piercing alarm off. There were terrified children outside on the concrete with no idea what was going on and their parents couldn't even give an explanation because they didn't know either. the manager admitted that he was supposed to be there and left the hotel unattended. There was only one staff there on night shift, who wasn't able to speak english well or just chose not to speak, i couldn't tell. They apparently didn't know the cause of the 5 am alarm but this one was triggered by the humidity of the pool. Firetrucks, police officers, and EMS all came, let's just say it was a restless night for everyone, not to mention the alarm went off again for around 10 seconds at about 1 am. In the morning, i tried to get juice, fridge was unplugged and juice was warm, i then went into the breakfast room. It smelt like mold and when i tried to eat a yogurt, it was spoiled. Do not bring your children here. Worst hotel i've ever been to not to mention we didn't get any compensation for the midnight alarm, and the manager just acted like everything was normal when we checked out, no apology or anything. it broke my heart the most seeing a little girl in her pjs wrapped in a baby blanket shedding tears because she was so scared of what was happening. DO NOT BRING...

I was put into a position where I had to be put up in this hotel for a little over a week. During my stay I have been treated with the utmost respect and kindness I have ever received in my life. My room has been comfortable, well maintained, and an amazing safe space for me.

Jamal, one of the front desk workers, is an absolute angel and deserves a substantial raise. I accidentally set out a bag of laundry (I had been informed of the laundry room, but simply made a mistake about how it worked) outside of my room to be washed. It was accidentally thrown away (my own mistake for placing it there) and when I realized it hadn’t been returned I reached out to the front desk, while Jamal was on shift, and explained the situation. He told me he would check storage, and when I returned to the motel this angel of a man actually spent a little over an hour DIGGING THROUGH THE DUMPSTER to find my lost laundry. He ended up leaving work late and had himself completely covered in trash (he is very well-groomed and professional) and this man. Did. Not. Complain. Once.

I even told him it was okay to cut my losses and he refused to stop, reassuring me it was okay and he wanted to help me. This poor guy, the bag was literally at the back, all the way at the bottom, in the very last bag to be searched through. HE FOUND IT. This man scoured LITERALLY every single nasty trash bag in the dumpster to find me something I had lost by my own fault. I have no idea if he was told to do this or if it was his choice, but I am so beyond grateful for the kindness he showed me.

I cannot explain how well this hotel takes care of its guests. To a manager: please give Jamal a substantial raise and some paid time off for what he had to do. I cannot say how...

Initially, after reading reviews on this place I was hesitant to book. I did so anyway, and am glad I did. I cannot say enough good things about the location, rooms and staff. First, location. This place is ideally situated between the start of historic Rt12 and the border of Capital Reef National Park. It is literally next to a gas station and a subway sandwich shop. For motorcyclists (as I was) looking to stop for the day without having to get geared up again to get a sandwich and gas after a long day, this is your place. The other reason is because Ahmed Hossain, the owner, aka "Eddie" has clean "motorcycle towels" for use to get the bugs off of your helmet and windscreen after a long ride. The bed was comfortable, the AC, and heat both worked well, the TV had RCA inputs for watching digital photos or video after a day of sightseeing, there is a power strip screwed to the wall right next to the bed, there is a hot tub, and pool which I didn't use, but plenty of others did. Also, what I was most impressed with were the excellent lightbulbs that made you feel like you were in a real homey environment instead of a dimly lit dungeon like some hotels, and the excellent WiFi signal. There are lots of great restaurants nearby too. "Slackers" burger shack is one of my favorites. I think I will have to come back with my wife and kids! Lastly, the price for the room for a Friday night in early May was $85...totaling under $100. Killer deal for what you get. If you expect the Four Seasons, Ritz, or Montage, you are in the entirely wrong part of the country to begin with. Almost forgot the breakfast, which is not fancy, but adequate, yogurt, toast, hard boiled eggs. No...
