Our room smelled of mildew and had bugs!! All baseboards and most walls paint was missing and huge marks everywhere. Cabinets in kitchen had big scratch marks so paint was gone as well. The carpets all had black stains and needed a deep shampooing and made you not want to take your shoes off. Spider webs all in the corners of most rooms. All ceiling fans are about to fall if you turn speeds above low. Someone broke all the backs off of the 4 barstools so it made holes in the bottom which scraped my 4 years sides up. Wall paper in master bath was falling off the wall. All furniture seemed 2nd hand and all the kitchen table chairs had holes in them. Of course we called Litchfield office and the said nothing they could that night so we went back down to the office at 1am and told them we are not sleeping there and showed them all the pictures we had and could not believe how nasty it was. they moved us to these 4 bedroom cottages so we walked in to check it out before we moved our family at 2am this time. We walk in and grocery bags everywhere so we ran outside and called Litchfield again and they assured us no-one was in the room!! So they sent security over 30 min later so it's after 2:30am and we still don't have a place to put our family. The security guy walked in and came running back saying a lady is sleeping in the bed!!! I believe he was more shocked then we were. So back to the office again to find another room and they finally got us in another room for the night but said we will have to move in the morning because they were booked. So after we woke our 2 kids up at 3am and moved to a better non-occupied room with no bugs we got a whole 4 hours of sleep. Next morning we went to the desk ASAP to see what we have to do and of course they have to make us move for the 3rd time on our 3 day stay. They did comp. us breakfast but our room was still not ready till almost 1pm so a whole day of our luggage being in our car wasting a full day. We finally got into the cottage C next door and it's greatly outdated and starting to fall apart but it's clean and hope it will do for 2 days. We will never be back to stay at True Blue Resort because they do not check rooms before they are booked and maintenance does no up keep!! The pictures online are very miss leading and you better check your room before you put your family in for the night. Don't stay in TB18H at True Blue at Pawleys Island!! Nasty place and not...
Read moreNew Review - 2021 Well we again had problems on annual golf trek to Pawleys. True Blue Unit (19D) managed by Litchfield was not in any shape to be rented out to the public. The carpet was so filthy dirty and stained you would not dare walk on it barefooted. Furthermore there were various obvious items that needed to be repaired in the unit. There still seems to be an absence of quality control by Litchfield with regard to the True Blue Units in their condo rental pool. Doubt this unit has been touched in many many years if at all, with regard to normal routine maintenance and updates.
Prior Review - 2018 Litchfield manages the condos at True Blue complex on and around the True Blue golf course off of Blue Stem Lane, which is off of US17. Renting through Litchfield was not a good experience this year. We reserved and paid deposits in Sept of 2017 for our stay in 2018. Our reservation was for two 3 bdrm/3 bth condos and one two bdrm/2 bath condo. All to be side by side or very close; and on the first floor. In prior years while renting thru a local golf package company there was no problem getting ground units together. This year there was a change in control of some of the condos so we had to go thru Litchfield. We reserved in Sept 2017 mind you. Upon arrival only one of three units was on the first floor and only two units were together. The other one was over a 1/4 mile away. The front desk did try to help and moved the third unit closer (on the same street) and this one was on the first floor. The 2BR unit (4F) was not a unit you want to rent. Wallpaper peeling in the master bath. No chairs you could or would want to sit in on the porch; with a rip in the porch screen. Old bicycle taking up space on the porch. Only the TV in Living Room worked (32 inch); no TV at all in master BR and the TV in 2nd BR would not work properly. Blinds were in bad shape and hardly worked. This unit badly needs updating and maintenance. Net, this unit was in no condition to be rented out. Litchfield should set and maintain higher standards for their rentals. Also upon arrival there were two huge bags of trash in the unit from housekeeping cleaning it after the last guests; we had to place them outside.
Overall we were disappointed in our 2018 rental experience with Litchfield (True...
Read moreAlthough I never stayed at this property, I can you that I never will stay anywhere that Litchfield owns, after dealing with this company's management team. I booked a room through a third party. It was free cancellation until the day before. My husband and I decided to go to Florida instead. So the next day after booking our room, I canceled(which was about 3 months before our stay). I got charged over $100 for canceling. And I wasn't supposed to be charged anything. I waited for about a week to see if it would be refunded. It wasn't. So I immediately called the Litchfield(the people who manage the payments and the properties). I talked to the front desk girl. She put me on hold for over 20 minutes, while waiting for the manager. When I finally spoke to the manager, she was very short with me. Told me that since I booked through a third party, I'd have to call them for a refund. She refused to even look up my reservation at all or speak to me about my reservation. So then after I spoke to her, I called Booking, the third party. They tried calling and emailing this property several times. This management team didn't even respond back to Booking's emails or messages. So because they never responded, I had to send Booking a screenshot of where I had been wrongly charged by this hotel. They opened a dispute with them. 3 days after filing the dispute, Booking still hadn't heard anything from the hotel. They had to put a note on there saying that they had to respond by a certain date. And at that point, I finally got my money back, after almost a month of fighting. I understand that rooms booked through a third party can be complicated, but the way this management team has treated this whole situation, was unprofessional and ridiculous. My uncle lives at this beach. I have spoken to him about the way this was handled. He will be telling people to avoid this place. And I have I will tell everyone I know about this situation, that is looking for a place to stay...
