I have been derelict in my duty to rate this place. Rate isn't the word. I'm going to rave about this place. After decades of coming down here for vacation and eventually relocating down here, the Bagel Cafe has been a religiously visited place for us for almost, if not exactly 10 years. How I have not praised this place before now is beyond me except to say they keep getting better. My wife and I relocated from NJ so we consider ourselves bagel snobs. Boy does this place knock it out of the park. They even have Taylor Ham/Pork Roll (depended on what part of Jersey you're from the name matters) which I get every Saturday morning. This place has never given us a bad meal or bad service. The gang behind the counter are quick, efficient, friendly and always smiling....and now that I'm encouraged to draw on the cash register mat my inner child is even happy to go there. Stop reading, go eat!!...

I visited Pawley’s Island and Bagel Cafe is a Diamond in the rough!! I am a Bagel Connoisseur from Chicago to Los Angeles to Las Vegas to New York(street vendors)to Boston. Bagel Cafe has extremely good Bagels but I think the hidden gem is the “French Toast” bagel. I took one bite in my hotel room and I knew exactly what I was going to be eating the next day, more French Toast Bagels. I went back and got a dozen of the French Bagels to take back home with me. I can’t wait to take one to my local Bagel shop and see if she can add this to her menu!!

The owner Chris was very helpful. I plan to retire in 2 yrs. He had a plethora of advise about Pawley’s Island and where to live/ buy. I am definitely coming back real soon. I hope they save me one of those French Toast Bagels. Great job...

Bagels, baked goods and breakfast/lunch menu and hours. Over a dozen varieties of bagels, muffins, crumble cake and other pastry treats, breakfast menu, hot and cold sandwiches, salads and coffee brews. Our chicken salad on a plain bagel was a nice, simple mixture of chopped chicken, small chunks of celery and a light salad dressing. Topped with fresh lettuce and tomato on a soft and chewy bagel. It was nice to have chicken salad that is chicken and not all the extras that seem to be the norm. The side was a small scoop of macaroni salad, other options available, and a pickle. Cinnamon, raspberry crumble cake was a sweet treat that we thoroughly enjoyed. Cafe was clean and brightly lit with seating inside and outside. Staff were friendly and food came quickly. ...

Very tasty bagel shop and they are very proud of them. $50 for 4 bagels and 1 waffle was a little much for breakfast but we are on vacation and it's nice to try out local new food venues. Location is small but they were able to handle to crowds very well. My bacon egg and cheese was missing the cheese but they got it corrected promptly. We also ordered steak and egg, bacon bagel and a plain bagel plus the waffle. The bagels were the softest I had ever had and not chewy at all. Even the high price won't stop us from coming back!

The bagels are great. However, you need to improve the to go orders. I ordered a baker's dozen. I also ordered multiple kinds of bagels. You need to find a simple way of separating the bagels. Plastic bags/sleeves or paper lunch bags. Also tying them up in plastic, or at least a paper bag that closes would keep them fresh. I was given my 13 bagels in an open bag and driving home, hours away. Had to stop and get gallon Ziploc bags at the grocery so they wouldn't dry out.
