We rented a cabin with two queens and a fold-out couch. It was clearly older but clean, had a well-stocked kitchen with everything we needed, plenty of towels and some extra for the pool and spa, decent mattresses and clean linens. Our only disappointments were the couch and the pillows. The pillows were really thin and lumpy despite being very thin. I had to use two of them to equal a normal flat pillow! Bring your own if you don't want to stack. The fold-out couch was a great couch, but the fold-out mattress was pretty bad even for a fold-out mattress. Only use it for little kids and relatives you hate. I put a knee on it and it nearly went through. I convinced my six-year-old that it was a Secret Bed and just really amazing that it was hidden IN A COUCH! and she was fine with sleeping on it because it was just unbelievably cool. The AC was a bit weak, and it was an unusually hot day. We added a fan to help get the cold air around the room and went next door to the burger joint (also a big hit, you'll love the ice cream!) and it was cooled off when we got back.||We didn't get to use them but there was a decent outdoor picnic table and a small grill. The windows opened wide at night and pulled in plenty of fresh air. The front desk person had a mask on and required masks. Room had no unpleasant smell. No regrets about staying there at all, it worked out really well for us. If I go back to that area of Colorado (and I may, the amusement park and whitewater rafting were great!) I'll rent a cabin again. I KNOW they are good choices. Bonus for having a great walk-up...
Read moreWe've been happily staying at this cozy little lodge for over 10 years during all 4 seasons.||After checking the Red Mountain Inn website for any changes or increases in rates, we discovered the same nightly bargains as were listed for years previously for an assortment of room sizes.||||Upon arrival, there were different faces manning the front desk. Our attempts to rent a few rooms for our ski week were declined, at which time we were abruptly turned away unless we were interested in an extended stay in excess of 30 days. ||It would appear that previous options for nightly or weekly traveler stays have been eliminated as of September of 2022. Unfortunately they haven't bothered to update their website or marquis signage 6 months later, which caused us an unnecessary confrontation onsite by the newly presiding owners/management. ||||We should have called ahead and avoided this unfortunate change in accommodations. The lovely Red Mountain Inn and their long gone friendly staff will be deeply missed! ||||At the time of this posting, the Red Mountain Inn website continues to falsely advertise and publish non-existent nightly room & cabin accommodations and rates. Do not believe what you read on their website or show up here for a room rental unless you're a transient laborer faced with the local housing shortage and need a place to live month to...
Read moreIt's a nice, quiet little getaway! The Red Mountain Inn is an older group of cabins close to i70. But the proximity to the highway doesn't mean traffic noise! The little time we spent there, we didn't hear anything from inside the cabin. Although the cabins are a little dated, they are very well kept, and super clean. The bed was nice, and plenty of nice pillows provided. We were able to utilize the provided charcoal grill outside most cabins, it was in good repair, and they even include grill brushes to clean the grill with which is a nice touch. It was hot during our stay, but inside was nice and cool thanks the well placed and quite a/c unit. We had forgotten our towels as we intended on going to the hot springs and stopped to ask the receptionist if we could borrow some... Initially they said their policy is to not lend towels because they get lost, but she checked with her boss and gave them to us anyway. We really didn't expect that as we understood that that could become a problem if everyone did it, but that nice personal touch made us think even more highly of the already friendly staff.
Overall, our stay at Red Mountain Inn was great, and we would stay there again if we have the...
