Drove up from denver during 4th of july weekend..made reservstions on 29th of june directly through the motel. We told the girl on phone we would be up late night and would someone be their to check us in,she said yes ( they live on grounds off of main Office) she asked for a phone number gave her our home number and a card number..We left at 9pm on thursday and got up their at 1am.The Owner thought we where a no-show and tryed to charge the card and apparently their was an issue with our card so the Owner said he tryed calling our house number at 10 pm and left a message which we were already on the road at 9 pm as i said. When we got their at 1am, I rang the buzzer 5 times he finally answered the door and beacause he couldnt get ahold of us and the girl had no notation about our arrival nor did she ask for a Cell number which they should always ask for 2 numbers one being a Cell #, the guy bumped us and gave up our room ..My wife and daughter were not happy to hear this news after a 4 hr drive and thinking we were about to sleep in the car then drive back home so after making calls and stopping buy a few places we were able to find a room for the night at only $15.00 more then what we were going to pay at Hanging lakes Inn..their were 2 other options that would have cost us $350. More at one place or the other had a suit that would have cost us $389.00 more.. It was now 3am and luckly was able to keep the room for friday and Saturday night too..shame on the Motel for putting my Family through this so late at night/ morning,I will not use them again. We use to stay their for many yrs when they were American Inn and then they started going down hill and we stopped staying thier, I really liked the old Owners too, really nice people..They even got me Roses for my wife at my request just cause she had a really bad day and it was Valentines Day and Presidents Day which made for a 4 day weekend and my wife and daughter had never been to Glenwood Springs so all around special weekend for us and room #109 would forever be are room when we went up their which would be once in winter/early Spring and Summer. We noticed last time it said new Owners and changed their name, they even had us still in their system so we thought we would give them another chance, what a mistake. To bad they lost an old Non-Valued Customer in their eyes..Its sad when other hotels/motels know who you are and it didnt surprise them. Regards Dissapointed. P.S. Could atleast helped out and made some...
Read moreWhen to check in and noticed a sign on the counter talking about Elm seed bugs. Nothing was mentioned about it on check in. Got to the room and noticed some bugs in the room. Killed the bugs and thought nothing of it. Later I saw 12 or so more bugs in the bathroom and by the front door. Went to get in bed and found more bugs in the bed. Woke up the next morning and found a couple of bugs on top of me. I looked at the front door and noticed there is a half inch gap in the corner of the door and half way up the door. You could see significant amount of light coming through between the door and the frame. I went to the office to get more towels, which they didn't give enough, and mentioned the bug problem. The clerk said they are a constant issue in Glenwood Springs. He also said he has the same problem at home. He mentioned you can't spray for them. I don't understand why they didn't happen to mention about this bug problem when making the reservation? The solution on the sign in the office said to pack towels around the door. I find that a little ridiculous. The clerk didn't mention any solution to take care of the problem, just seemed to blow it off. Also, the business sign on the street, said they are newly remodeled. They must not have got around to our room. It had 30+ year old carpet with stains on it. The carpet also hid bugs very well because the color and age of the carpet. The furniture was pretty old and worn. The tub was old and narrow. The shower head leaked water against the wall. They claimed that the rooms were squeaky clean. On 1st appearance, they are squeaky clean but found garbage under the bed. I paid $200.00 a night which was a good price, but not with all the problems. Very disappointed with the room and service. Would not recommend nor ever...
