Just came back from a one night stay at the Grafton Inn. I was pleasantly surprised at our room. Every thing was thought of and the room was full of amenities. Microwave, mini fridge couch, jet tub, electric fireplace, wine bottle opener, even a little radio to listen to the Cardinals game. :) I believe there are only 2 units and they are above a local business. The living room area had a nice view overlooking the river.||||The location couldn't be better. My wife and I were able to walk any where in town that we wanted to. We walked to the Loading Dock, then we walked to the Grafton Winery and Brewhaus. There was even a free shuttle at the bottom of the hill to give us a lift to Aerie's Winery. Once we parked our car at the Inn we didn't get back in it till we left to go home.||||I debated long and hard about subtracting a star for the lack of a "private" balcony, but I couldn't. Truth is, there is a front entry balcony and the owners even supplied folding chairs (that are stored next to the fridge). The fact that there are only 2 units allows you to use one side of the balcony as your own "private" balcony. I am ok with that.||||Bottom line, my wife and I were more than pleased with this charming set up, we will most definitely recommend it to friends...
Read moreMy husband and I decided when we went on vacation in May of 2016 that we really didn't want to make reservations ahead of time. We were going on the Motorcycle and we didn't want to have to hurry but just enjoy where the day took us. On a Sunday evening we found ourselves in Grafton IL. After riding thru the town we decided this was where we hoped to spend the night. (My husband was sold after seeing the Grafton Oyster Bar.) We pulled into The Loading Dock to see what we could find. I got on Trip Advisor to look for a place to stay and The Grafton Inn was the first on the list. I called and to my surprise they had a room available. I must say I was very worried giving my card number to a place I had no clue where it was or what it even looked like. The lady on the phone was very nice and so we went ahead and decided to give it a try. Once pulling up to the building I was still a little concerned. But once we opened the door we was more than PLEASANTLY SUPRISED!!!!! We could not have been luckier to find such a great place. Once we unpacked the Harley we headed to the Oyster Bar, which was also a great place. We hope to go back sometime this summer and will most defiantly try to get another room at the...
Read moreWe stayed on a Tuesday and Wednesday night in late June (2016). We had the best time. The room was great, clean and cozy. We made reservations over the phone, got a confirmation call that morning on the way, it was as easy as that. It is centrally located in the town within walking distance to many things. There is probably more going on during the weekends, but it was nice. The people in the town that we met were super friendly. We totally recommend it to anyone wanting a quick get away.||The whirlpool tub is really nice and she has other nice little touches in the room. Definitely would consider staying here again. A total...
