My best friend was in from CO, so we gathered up the girls and went out for a ladies night in Grafton since we decided we'd have more fun doing that than the Shania concert. We popped in here in hopes of doing karaoke. Unfortunately, they were already packed with more requests on the sign up sheet than could be accommodated in the time allowed, so we went up to the top floor to use the restroom and decided to get drinks since it was dead up there so we could hear each other while still being able to hear the music. The bartender on the top floor was a blonde lady, looked to be in her late 40's, with kind of wavy/curly hair just past her shoulders. I tried to get her attention multiple times with no luck. I went to a couple of different empty spots along the bar trying to get her attention, but she just kept walking back and forth, refusing to look over and not actively waiting on anyone. There were 6 other people on this floor outside of our group of 8, so I guess she was either mad about something, or just wasn't interested in making any money. Even the customer in the middle of the bar tried to get her attention for me, but he had no luck either. I finally walked to the other end of the bar when she stopped pacing and stood there to text on her phone. I tapped my hand on the bar a couple times to get her attention and when she looked at me, I asked if I could get some drinks. She said, "Sure, just gimme a minute," and went back to her text conversation. I stood there for at least 3 more minutes watching her text and wait for a reply, then text back again and wait for a reply a few times before I decided this just wasn't the place for my group. I walked back over to my friends who were sitting at the first 2 tables by the stairs and explained that I was done waiting to get our drinks and that the bartender was more worried about whoever she was texting with. They'd watched her ignoring me the whole time anyway and agreed that if it was busy, they could understand, but it wasn't, so we should just go somewhere else. We walked our happy selves down to the karaoke floor to dance to a song, and then got out of there and went next door to Bobby G's where we got served by a friendly bartender who greeted and served us as soon as we walked in...and they were just as busy...which is why we hung there until we wrapped up for the night. They made the money we would have happily spent at 3rd Chute if things had went differently. While there is lots of potential for fun and the atmosphere and decor at 3rd Chute is pretty cool, having terrible service results in unhappy customers and lost revenue. With 8 in our group, we easily dropped $300+ between shots, drinks and tips. Shame...
Read moreAMAZING! If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would!! Food was impeccable, and the service was so good and so helpful! We couldn't decide what we wanted, and a couple waitresses were so good to offer suggestions of what their favorite things on the menu were and why, and what they could eat there every day. Which helped us decide what to try.
They have a pretty good menu selection, and some not so bad prices. You can sit inside or outside. You can also go upstairs and have a good view of the river. They showed a beer menu, but they didn't show a mixed drink menu...however, they have any kind of wine slushy, rum runner, Pina Colada, strawberry daquari, or other kind of drink you are looking for.
We started out our meal with onion rings. They were really good. They were big, lightly battered, and not like the cheap frozen bag stuff that you get at some restaurants.
Next we got the platter of wings. That comes with 20 of them, and you pick 4 flavors. We got the bone in, and we picked the following:
Garlic Herb Sweet Thai Blueberry Raspberry
Our favorites ❤ ended up being the Raspberry #1. Sweet Thai #2, followed by the Blueberry, and then the Garlic. Which surprised us, because we thought Garlic would be our favorite. Our waitress, and another waitress were so helpful in helping us decide which ones to get. They were the ones that actually suggested the Raspberry and Blueberry wings...we didn't think we would like something like that. They were delicious, especially the Raspberry. We would come back here JUST for those Raspberry wings! And they are huge!
We were sitting next to the kitchen, so we saw them bringing out order after order of food, and everything looked so good. We will definitely...
Read moreVisited here on Mon, Oct 14th with three other members of my family. Literally had three employees working the entire restaurant, including the bar and kitchen from what we could see. As a former server myself, this place was painfully slow. Took 20 mins to get our drinks, and took nearly an hour to receive our room temperature, very mediocre food. Chicken quesadilla was made with cheap plastic-like cheese and had no spices. Meatloaf sliders were just cold hamburger with BBQ sauce on top. I personally never received my tilapia sandwich even though I was reassured that it was "on the way". Of course, I was still charged for it when we finally left and got about our day. A 30 min lunch on a Monday afternoon turned into a 2 hour ordeal. I want to attribute this to the fact that it was Columbus Day and that they likely didn't plan for such a rush of people to come into their restaurant on a Monday in October, but for an established business like this, it should have been planned for. I absolutely do not recommend. The only bright side to this place is that the 3 employees who were working seemed...
