I had a bad experience at this campground. I was out for a ride looking for a place to vacation for a week. Looking for a family get-away where I can let my kids be kids. I pulled in the campground thinking look how beautiful this place is. I pulled up on the side of the road with a friend and one other friend that had his wife with him. All of a sudden I see a lady come running up to us. I thought oh they are coming to greet us how nice. By the time she got to us she was yelling at the top of her lungs telling us get off of my property, threatening us, with violence, and going on and on. I was totally caught off guard. I did not know what to do or think. I actually thought I might have had the wrong place maybe this is private property. She started yelling your impeding my business. Well, I thought "you just lost my business." I want everyone else to know what happen. I will never go back!
I am trying to respond to the response I could not figure out how so here is my response to the owners response
First of all I never even got a chance to ask to look around. The reality is a friend was showing us where they have camped recently. They thought it was a nice place. We were not even going up into the camp ground he had already described the place to us. Now we know where the place is located and will never go back. (they do not any longer) I have been to several campgrounds asking to look around and we have always been let in. It makes me question What do you have to hide? What is really happening there? What kind of facility is this place? My biggest question is; What did I do to make you think that I was able or even wanted to put your guest in any kind of danger? Is it the way I looked? What I drove? I do not understand? What is the reason you decided that I would put the safety and security of your guest at risk. Please explain because I cannot and will not go around judging someone how did you come to...
Read moreI've never been treated so badly by anybody, the elderly man who works there should not be deadly with the public. We had booked this campsite over 6 months in advance. We had a back and forth email conversation in which we asked what time check-in closed and were told that we could check in any time because the owners lived onsite. Had emailed a few days before arrival to confirm we were still coming. So after flying from Europe for 12hrs and 4 hours driving we arrived at 10.30. nobody at reception so we rang the bell only to experience the most unwelcome interaction. After telling us he hadn't us booked in we tried to show him the emails we had and were told he didn't care what we had. Eventually looked up the calendar on his computer to see that we were booked in. Got annoyed with us for not having a US postcode and entered the details of my credit card wrong on his system so that it got refused. We had to go an ATM to get him cash to stay. Not a kind or welcoming word out of him. Rude rude rude....
Read moreI've come here with friends for a few years and it's always been a very pleasurable experience. Kelly and Michael are always willing to help in any way they can. This is a fantastic spot. For me, it is truly glamping. There are several full bathrooms and a whole bunch of porta potties. They never overfill the place, so it's always peaceful. My friends are here in a large luxury RV but I'm just in a tent ... it's still fantastic glamping!
Yes, they do have rules. The rules actually protect all of the people who come to Camp here, so I don't worry about my belongings being stolen while I'm off at the river. There are signs all over the place as you enter to go slowly, 5 mph because children and pets might be at play and to be sure to stop and check in at the office first. I hate rules, but when we we're all required to abide by them, it makes it such a pleasurable experience.
Thank you so much for another...
