Chef par excellence. Warm, inviting, cozy, elegance, thoughtfulness, friendlessness from every member, everything wine country can be. Boxy and homey, pleasant in the excat way a small town full of passion for food, life, love of neighbor should make you feel. Cool summer evening moves through the eating area, the Russian River hidden behind the buildings on the other side of the steet. The cowd of people navigating a table for themselves at the host station keeps the spirit high, voices dance in conversations, smiles fill the air, the symphony of sounds lovers make with forks and knives playing sacred melodies on dishware every person knows and loves because we're in the fullness of our humanity. Enjoy the moment, this is life.
Sitting in the front dining area exposed to nature's atmosphere, fresh. The clamoring of guests looking to find a seat, while making my own gastronomic sounds, gulps of beer and white wine. Frantic anticipation, the wonder of childlike expectation with each plate moved from kitchen to floor, is it mine? Oh, what will it taste like? What level of pure enjoyment will I have? Conversation, stories, the placing of orders, the music of silverware and porcelain, more gulps of beer wash down my fresh cheese Burrata and pickled strawberries 🍓.
Smells, oh lord the smells. Meat and potatoes. Polenta and vegetables. A round of Beer for the kitchen! Cheeseburger and fries! Home. Cozy. Elegance. Flavor. Rewarding. Pure Enjoyment. Oh look it's Chef Crista Luedtke herself! Smiles, smiles and more smiles. This restaurant and food is made of smiles, every inch of the place. Smiles are transmuted here, smiles swarm the place, every paton, all the staff, of course the food itself is riddle with smiles, they're in everything, in every ingredient, they're everywhere, they're impossible to avoid here and they're absolutely free. 😃
My Birthday Panna Cotta w/ shortbread smiled to me with a single birthday candle 🕯 all because one Chef and her entire team took the time to make a long traveled road trip much more special then it already was. This was my second birthday experience with Chef Crista 👩🍳 and I couldn't be more pleased. Thank you. Unbelievable. Memorable. Everything food should...
Read morethis place is hands down the best local restaurant in Guerneville, don’t miss if you visit! we waited for about 25 mins around 5:30p and got a seat inside.
the service was incredible and food was mindblowing! We tried a mix of dishes, and it was such a memorable meal:
the Brussels sprouts were the only miss for me — too salty and sour from the lemon (2/5). But everything else completely made up for it. skip this if you can, or maybe we were just unlucky last night
the roasted squash with goat cheese was a dream (5/5) — perfectly caramelized, creamy, and comforting. this one was actually their special, the best squash i’ve ever had
then came the mac and cheese — hands down one of the best I’ve had. The crispy breadcrumbs on top gave it that extra crunch, and the balance between the creaminess, cheese, and mushroom texture was just perfect (5/5).
the cod was another standout (5/5): beautifully cooked, tender, and paired brilliantly with forbidden rice, fresh carrots, radish, and roasted peanuts. Such a thoughtful combination of textures and flavors.
and to finish — the chocolate brownie with salted caramel (5/5). Wow. Light as a cloud, perfectly balanced sweetness, and that hint of salt to tie it all together. The ideal ending to a fantastic meal
highly, highly...
Read moreI stopped by with a friend after spending the day in Bodega Bay. I was greeted outside by one of their awesome & friendly staff, there were two parties that were seated quickly & we were seated shortly after. The servers were very attentive as well as prompt when we needed something. My server Constance was outstanding, outgoing & made us feel welcomed, along with suggesting items on the menu. The burgers & fries were on point as they put arugula, smoked gouda, pickled onions, a side of aoli & homemade ketchup. The cooks made our burgers the way we asked for. My burger was cooked medium rare, nicely cooked. The fries were really good as I can tell that they were homemade & not frozen. A party of two decided on the table next to us & was politley asked to sit at the other table for social distancing, the server was very professional to them. I regret not ordering the mac & cheese after I saw the picture of it today! I would have to say that my overall experience with Boon would have to be "Exceptional" the service we exceptional! I would highly recomend that you definately stop by & eat here, you will not be disapointed. I will be back again for the...
