We really enjoyed our stay at Lakewood. It is a small park, but really friendly people. Everyone seemed to be so happy we were there.||||When you arrive the gate is really close to the road so you are sticking out in the road while the passenger in the truck has to get out to punch in the code to open the gate. They give you the gate code before arriving, but it is still a little stressful while trying to get in and cars are waiting both ways for you to get through the gate.||||Once in it is a very nice park. The people in the office are very nice and helpful. ||||Our site was big enough for our travel trailer and a place to park our truck. We had a concrete slab to put out our chairs and tables. There were plenty of site that were empty and no one was next to us the 21 days we were there. It was kinda nice.||||The main building, which is really to only building, had the office, main hall, billiards, fitness room, sewing room, library and bathrooms. We used almost all of them. The park even had a great welcome home luncheon for everyone at the park and it was free. They also had giveaways of aluminum water bottles and dinner for two at the Longhorn Cattle Company which is a really good restaurant. They have dances, concerts, bingo and game nights. The place is always doing something.||||I highly...
Read moreThis was our first stay at a 55+ park and now wish there were more through the system ! Being 55+ ot see,ed everyone was much more responsable and respectful than other parks. Let me start with the positives : First of all EVERYONE from the staff to other park guest (both travelers and extended stay) made us feel welcome. The park is minutes from anything and everything you need (movies, shopping, dinning). The staff were always working through the park ; cleaning, fixing, total upkeep. EVERY day the park had things going on (card games, pot lucks, socials in the hall) it was nice to have such a variety of things to do. Now the negitives : the first the park has no control over but the winds through the park were intense through our entire stay. Second ; There is NO shade to be found ! This they could correct with some trees...
Read moreI have filled out a number of these this winter for the Lakewood RV Resort. I just want to take this opportunity to thank Karen and Mark for accommodating us during our last visit. We were really unsure of what we would do with having to move from Alamo Palms to Lakewood, and having to leave for a funeral during our transition between parks. Allowing us to come a day early to make it all work says a lot about the Lakewood family. To answer questions during your day off and make arrangements for us, is truly above and beyond your job duties. My family and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts. This is why Lakewood will always be our winter home. Thank you again for all you do for the...
