Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Harlingen

I've gone in the past year, about 10 times, the last 2 quality of smoothie has dropped a lot. I didn't say anything the 1st time, the 2nd I went back and girl was very mad that I said anything and she had to remake it, due to zero flavor. I stayed quiet and didn't tell manager or review. This time I went after 3 months of not going, and again it was flavorless. I even asked the girl on duty, if they had the same flavor I was looking for, she said yes. She made it and I trusted that all would be ok. I got home and it tasted like ice and water. I was going to just drink it, but for over 6 dollars drink, it should not taste like that. I went back, told same person about issue and she said, do u want a refund or a remake? No sorry or let me make it better. I said yes remake it if you have the flavor to do it. She said just sit and I'll take it to you. So when she finished she puts it on counter says here u go and turns her back to me. She didn't even wait for me to stand up from table. Just rude and unnecessary. I don't care about money, I'll pay you double if I have to but don't give me a raggedy smoothie. I've been driving all the way to McAllen to smoothie King all these other months just cause I know it's worth it. I rather do business 2 blocks away from my house than have to drive that far. Really hard to keep giving them chances. I hope owner or GM sees this and corrects issue. Train staff to build clients and not...

This is the second time my wife and i visit. We bought a smoothie ansd enjoyed it so we came back with the family to sit down and try the rest of the menu. No bueno. First, kids quesadillas came with a kale apple slaw that was spicy?! Cmon. Second, hummus bowl had about two table spoons of bland hummus along with yellow and brown iceburg lettuce. It's only green from the kale that accompanies it. Had about 10 individual black beans and a bit of rice , not enough to give it any taste. Really disappointed with this.

Also, the lady at the register had no idea about the rewards program and didn't bother to ask anyone. Finally, it was soo cold! My kids were shivering. Granted they were having a smoothie but it shouldn't be this cold.

Visited here from out of town and wished we had one of these at home! The orders came out quickly and I liked all of the different options. My two friends I was with are vegan and got the meatless chicken burritos. I had the Cuban sandwich which tasted like divine heaven. We picked a smoothie to combo with out meal and I wasn't expecting such a large size! There was so much food I ended up taking my chips (side) and half my smoothie home with me. The smoothie itself was really good, although mine was a little crunchy from being fully blended but I stirred it up and it seemed better. From all of the smoothie places I've been, it's probably one of the most refreshing and delicious ones I've had.
