Using trip advisor I was drawn to the hotel for the amenities and location in the Allegheny valley. I wanted a retreat away from the busy city. As I pulled up I was disappointed by the location as the hotel is just off the highway surrounded by other hotels and restaurants. Immediately the hotel staff put me at ease. I was greeted by Jeanine who was friendly and welcoming despite the late hour. She offered to help me find somewhere to eat and asked what else I needed to get settled. From there the week just got better and better. My room was amazing! It was impeccably clean, full kitchen including dishwasher and stove-top (this kept my expenses down and I could eat more healthy than usual while traveling), nice modern bathroom and comfy bed. The next morning Brandy was working the front desk and spent probably half an hour helping me craft my dream vacation. She helped me find running/hiking trails, printed out maps, trail maps, and directions. I went for a massage and a mani pedi, went to an escape room and ice skating. I was also directed to the quaint charming town of Oakmont less than a mile up the road (they also have a free shuttle that will take you within a 5 mile radius if you dont arrive with a car or dont want to drive). There are riverfront walks, cute boutique stores, old churches, brick/cobble stone roads, and a wide variety of eating choices. Later in the week a friend of mine that is somewhat local popped in one of the days and we drank coffee around the hotel outdoor firepit and chatted. All of the rest of the staff were also phenomenal, by the end of my week I felt like we were a big family despite me being a little high maintenance AND this being over thanksgiving and them having to work. Lexi at the front desk was awesome, and all the kitchen and breakfast staff were always friendly and cheerful. The complementary warm breakfast was also a wonderful change from the normal cold continentals. There is a waffle maker, but also always an egg of sorts (over easy, with cracked paper, or omelette, etc) and at least one meat choice, often with vegetarian options like veggie sausage. There was also coffee and fruit available all day long. All of this, the friendly staff, and the indoor pool and fitness center made my week feel like a vacation retreat. Thanks to all for a wonderful stay! I will...
Read moreI’m a owner operator (truck driver). When I take 34hr breaks I like to be in a hotels rather then in a truck. I won’t lie my first choice is holiday inn. But this time there wasn’t a holiday inn that could accommodate my truck. So after searching I found towneplace suites. The lot beside it was a great size for my truck and trailer. I walked in and met with Lori at the front desk. The level of customer service and respect I was given was fantastic. Super nice and helpful. I got the king bed suite. When I walked in, the room was nice and cold which I love. It was clean and presentable. I checked for bed bugs and there were none. ( I always check after a Baymont Suite experience).
I stayed here for two days and it was very nice and comfortable. I was able to get some work done with how the desk station is set up in the room.
Now let me just say, no hotel is perfect. I only had two issues that are so minute that it doesn’t even matter. But for the sake of transparency I’ll go ahead and say them. The rooms are not very soundproof. I could hear people out in the hallways but it wasn’t a big deal. Everyone that came in was as quite as one would expect going to their room.
The second issue was the bed/pillows. I like firm beds that have some give. This bed was not that. It was just firm. The pillows I think if they were just a bit less squishy and gave some support then it would have made everything with the bed all the way around better.
So I’m going to end this novel with this. The hotel itself is great. The staff was extremely helpful and care for the customer experience. And if I’m ever in the area again that I need a hotel. This is where...
Read moreStayed here for 12 nights and so far this is the worst experience compared to other close by hotels. Couldn't do "early" checking. Arrived at 1 pm the receptionist didn't even look at me or check anything and told me that check in was at 3. I've stayed 3 times at the hampton -the hotel in front of this one- in and all the times they didn't had a room ready for early check in they sent someone and told me the estimated waiting time. Same breakfast ALL days. They always have omelette and beef patties, they didn't change or even slightly modify it. -Again the hotel across the street and the comfort inn does that by default.- They only have one computer. I wanted to print my boarding pass but a guy was playing chess. I tried to talk to him and then to the receptionist -which tried to talk to the guy again- but he couldn't stop playing in the only computer they have. Again having multiple computers is thing that real hotels do They forgot to do room cleaning in my room once. In addition they didn't left me shampoo one day and after asking the receptionist since she didn't have at hand she had to go to the warehouse and grab more. In conclusion the hotel is probably the most modern nearby but with all things that I mentioned looks like the staff is not doing anything good with it so I won't stay...
