Holt Bros BBQ — Restaurant in Hartsville

Went in 45 minutes before closing, and no surprise they were out of brisket. The menu isn’t visible while you are standing in line. When you get a menu at the register it doesn’t describe the portion sizes, they are big! We ordered a 5 rib plate and a rib/pulled pork combo. Each came with two sides. Fried okra was good as was the sweet potato casserole. Cole slaw was vinegar style.

We were the only eat in customers, and it took a bit to get our food after the last takeout person got theirs. The ribs were room temperature, but very tasty with a nice touch of crispy fat and a nice sauce. We wanted a bit more sauce and the counter person said it was their original on the ribs, but the original sauce on the table was like water, vinegary and thin and we tried several bottles.

There’s no table service just a few nice booths, but when I went to refill my tea glass they had taken away the tea in preparation for closing (about 10 minutes before closing time). Same at the counter, nothing to wash down the meal, no apology, no offer of an alternative. So we had to...

Me and my three young kids decided to come eat there and I didn't appreciate the employees smelling like weed. The food wasn't Cooked properly my son got sick from it.
