0 stars on all if I could. DISGUSTING PROPERTY FULL OF BUGS- no customer support to rectify situation. The room was a bit dated with no AC. Lots of bugs- hundreds. It started at night- all screen doors closed and bugs miraculously still coming in. There’s no AC, so if you close everything up (like the front door & sliding glass door), it was extremely hot. We left for a couple of hours & closed the glass and front doors only to find HUNDREDS more gnats all over inside & on the lanai upon return: on the walls, the tables, the floor, the bathrooms, everywhere! It was 1am so we went to our rooms & closed the bedroom doors in hopes of keeping them out. No luck- woke up with some on the bed. I reached out to customer service (Vacasa) and sent photos & videos. She said a local rep would contact me. Someone reached out to tell me because of rain, many gnats were around and I should keep the screen doors closed. That’s great- we were already doing that and they were still coming in. I live in Hawaii, I understand the bug situation. I have never encountered anything like this in all my travels. It was a gnat graveyard ALL over our whole condo. The pics speak for themself. No resolution, no help or offer to credit some of the stay back, just sorry keep the screens shut. DO NOT STAY HERE! VACASA IS HORRIBLE THIS PLACE WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY ($730 for 2 nights!!) & doesn’t care about you actual experience. ZERO STARS. I know the photos don’t look like a ton, but these were just small sections of the condo and the bugs where everywhere. I wish I could post the videos to show a more accurate description. The paper towel pic is after wiping just one corner.

🕍A suite or a studio, not sure. But an apartment in a hotel buildings. Some error brought me here. Alone in a space, expensive but comparably the price it is for a family to loge if to somewhere else.🕍 The kitchen allows you to manage the budget well enough as some hotels do in Honolulu. 🏜Here the balcony in the sunset ignores the money and unforgetable memory ignores the time. Reality might come back after the daybreak. The total price will check you out at right time. 🏜 🌃Exotic design in simplicity. Yellowish lights in old-fashioned atmosphere. The tense of mordernity was threw back. A rental car could drive away the lonliness and the scenic country along the driveway by sea would take you to the Earth on the other end. 🏝 A swimming pool in clarity relax you in the remote land. A grill area compliments the unsufficiency in the kitchen. Only one small restaurant around which satisfies. Minutes of bus drive, more foods spots. 🏖The reception yard close to the swimming pool, seemingly a niche in tropical surounddings. Oasis retreat. 🏜 At about US$ 230 per night, cleaness is okay. A bed in room just for two persons. A set of sofas in the living room could accomadate two plus. 🌇 The website said US$ 84 one night in Hawaii, but actually additional US$ 120 and other fees are charged on the scene when checking in. 🏘

I've only used VRBO (or similar) to book stays at the Kona Bali Kai condominium complex. We've stayed in 5 different condos in the last 4 years and have never been disappointed. We stay here mostly because the living rooms and the master bedrooms open onto the lanais and we can fall asleep to the sound of the waves just outside. All of the condos are overpriced for what you get but we are willing to pay that price for the location. The views of the ocean and palm trees are beautiful. We are often entertained by surfers, spinner dolphins, whales and various marine life, including turtles and eels, in the tide pools all viewable as we sit and relax on the lanai. We always rent a car, which is a necessity if you want to explore the Big Island, so being a 5 minute drive from Kona is no big deal. All in all this is a great complex with clean and well maintained condos. If you like feeling like you live in Hawaii you will not be disappointed staying here.

Had no trouble finding the place, even at night. There is a big sign on the right hand side of the road. We called ahead and checked in over the phone because we were arriving after hours. That was very convenient! However, FINDING THE ROOM took us 45 minutes! When we arrived, we asked the security guard where we could park. He failed to say he had a guest list nor did he offer any help initially. We took the elevator to the 3rd floor and walked the entire length of the building. We didn’t find our room so we went back to the security guard and asked where room 352 was located. He said he didn’t know and told us we had to walk around the front of the building to the courtesy phone located in the parking lot because all the gates were locked. Once we got there, we saw on the wall a map of the place. There are 7 buildings total located on BOTH SIDES of the street. The map said the building was directly across the street and in the back. However, the building directly across the street is a completely different entity and is not shown on the map. After walking all over and twisting my ankle, falling and scraping my knee and elbow by stepping into an uneven area in the parking lot AND moving our car 3 different times, we FINALLY found the correct building. Once we got to our room, we had to play with the faulty lock box a couple of times to get the key out. The room was quaint and clean. I like the room and was grateful to be in it!

A few of suggestions please: Inform your guests and security guards that there are 7 buildings total which are located on BOTH SIDES OF THE STREET! Had the security guard known this information, we wouldn’t have spent 45 minutes walking up and down 3 flights of stairs multiple times looking for the room.

Inform the guest and the security guards where the rooms are located and in what building.

Fix the potholes in the parking lot! My left ankle is sprained and my right knee and right elbow are oozing blood because it is too late to find a store open to purchase first aid. I will be sleeping with a towel under me so as not to stain the sheets.

Oh, and we had to pay a $78 cleaning fee that was not mentioned anywhere in the disclosure. Found out about the next morning! Would have been nice if they compensated the inconvenience and my injuries by letting the cleaning fee slide....

This is an ownership Condo complex managed by Castle so each condo is different. I got a good rate from Google via Castle website and called and booked over the phone directly with Castle. I had a pleasant experience booking with the agent for a "partial ocean view" 15 days before our trip. We are 2 adults and 1 6.5 yr old so on the phone we were promised a Queen bedroom with 1 sofa bed in living room.||||When we arrived, they first gave us a studio #368. This was ok for a couple. I went back to the front desk and they then gave me #367 which is a 1 bedroom apt which was what I was promised while booking. This modest apt is quite spacious for a family of 3 or even a couple with 2 kids. Adequate Amt of closet space. They call it "partial ocean view" since it is across the street but it has a great view of the ocean and we can hear the waves all day and night and has a good balcony to sit in. Across the street in the other building is beach access, a small pool and such. The beach is wonderful rocky beach with a small strip of sand. My son had fun counting crabs walking the rocks and playing in the sand.||||The condo kitchen itself is extremely well stocked with all necessary appliances like a rice cooker, crockpot, blender, coffeemaker .. People take a condo so that they can cook and the owner has made sure everything we need to cook from appliances stand point is covered. There is coin laundry behind the reception area also which is very convenient. There is no dishwasher. We were fine with it. FYI Housekeeping for towel change happens mid stay but only for guests who stay more than 7 days. If you need fresh towels and staying less than a week, there is $10 fee. We just did laundry and washed a few towels. ||||For beach time there is a kids life jacket, beach umbrella, beach chairs, 2 awesome boogie boards that we used .. ||||My only complain was that as we neared day 4 of our 5 day stay we could see small ants surfacing in the apt and the furniture was old and outdated. We were on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator and when we arrived at 10pm the bell desk was closed otherwise there is help to take your luggage up the stairs. However the condo is clean, livable, comfortable and that's all that...
