Kona Home Vacation Rentals — Hotel in Hawaii

Do not book any properties with this company, either through their website, Airbnb or VRBO. They are very shady. They claimed a plumbing issue less than 2 weeks before our arrival and tried to move us to a different property that was not as nice as the one we booked. We had to scramble to find other arrangements for our group. We highly suspect they double booked us or got another booking that overlapped with ours because they were still accepting bookings for the property we rented the week before our trip and afterwards.

You’ll also notice their properties on Airbnb and VRBO never have a lot of reviews, we also suspect they frequently delete and relist their properties when they get too many bad reviews. Sketchy behavior overall, not worth...

Unfortunately the rental process isn’t transparent. I had exchanged communications with Emmy the manager and clearly informed her a check was in the mail as she had informed me she would block our dates for a 50th anniversary trip. Once the check arrived she proceeds to inform me that she allowed someone to rent one of our places while our payment was en route. We are people of our word and did as we said and sent payment only to see it be rented to someone else.
