Wow..where to begin? I booked this hotel through AARP, the reviews had nothing but positive things to say about this place. Then, two days before we were to check in, I searched this hotel on google and the reviews were the exact opposite of what was posted on AARP. I read the elevator was out, terrible staff/service and boring to bad breakfast. Unfortunately, those things were mostly true. I called the hotel to ask if I can get a room on the first floor because of my disability. Mrs. Tracey at the front was sweet and was able to accommodate me and assigned us a room on the 1st floor. So if you or someone you're traveling with isn't able to climb stairs, I suggest calling ahead.
We were traveling with 4, two kids/two adults and we were there a total of 4 nights. There was never enough wash cloths/towels in our room. We had to always ask for extra. It got to a point where the hotel house keepers stopped giving us wash cloths all together and the front desk was not able to locate any extra due to possibility of staff hiding them. So my family had to bathe with hand towels instead. (Apparently house keeping doesn't like towels/wash cloths touched overnight when they aren't there...which is ridiculous!) There was also an incident where all house keeping did was make the beds and not clean the rest of the room/bathroom. I mentioned this to the front desk manager Mercedes and she was extremely sorry and made sure that we received service for the rest of our stay. (Even tho we were without wash cloths)
To my knowledge, no one else was having this issue regarding wash cloths. I strongly feel that this is possibly because we are black family and the house keepers were spanish speaking. I could be wrong but it just felt that way based off of other encounters that happened. Overall, we managed to survive our stay without finding another hotel. We made it work. However, we will not be booking at this location again! I hope this...
Read moreI was not pleased with the service. There was only one cart for luggage. But we were placed on the second floor and the elevator was broken. So we had to carry all of our bags up two flights of stairs. Housekeeping never serviced our room and we called twice the first day. The second day, they never came again until we called again to request service. That was after 5pm. She only brought us fresh towels. Our beds were never made. It was very unhygienic service. Housekeeping also lied and said to the front desk that we requested for her not to service our room. Which was not true. Why would I be waiting for service for two days and ask the maid to not come and clean? When she delivered our towels, she was on the phone explaining how she’s so busy and there is not enough cleaning staff which is why she was behind. First, maybe she can get her work done more efficiently if she got off the phone while she is on the clock. Second. If there is a staffing issue the management needs to address this and hire appropriate personnel. The standard level of service was not executed at this hotel at all. The third day, I complained to the front desk about my experience and I requested compensation like an extra night stay. Which the manager denied. Then I asked for a discount. Again. It was denied. As I was preparing my things to check out, housekeeping knocked on my door to come and clean. But what is the point now, we are leaving? She should have came the past two days. I am very disappointed in my stay at this hotel. The housekeepers lie and don’t do their job. I do not...
Read moreI just wanted to take the time to make it known that your evening front desk clerk, Mercedes, really has been an amazing blessing to us during our stay here. She has gone above and beyond to make sure that all of my needs were met, and was helpful, informative and pleasant every time I walk in the door. I’m staying here for work, so every time I walk through the doors I’m tired and dirty. Having her at the front desk has instead made me smile every time I came in, and I already felt better – before I even got to my room.
She handled our reservations fast – and for us, we usually wait around for 30 minutes or so as we travel from job site to job site en masse. She was ready for us, and really made that first day we touched down go super smooth. Everything is always spotless and feels fresh in the lobby, and it hits you in the face as soon as you step through the door. Like I said, we travel 100 percent of the time for work – so I feel somewhat qualified to speak on what’s good service and presentation. This is it. Having someone like Mercedes is definitely why I’ll ask to be booked here anytime we’re working on a job site nearby.
Thank you for the time taken to read this, and thank you for taking the time to hire hardworking, quality people like Mercedes… It really makes a...
