Americas Best Value Inn & Suites Houston Brookhollow NW — Hotel in Houston

We were there 27-29 Feb 2016. Initially the "suite" was booked because of the median price range and the photos presented on the web site (The room looked nothing like the photos), but mainly because of the proximity to a wedding we were attending. The "suite" was the worst I have ever rented to include the times I traveled for the US Army. No one seem to perform quality control on the cleanup of the room and it was quite clear that the maids did not have proper guidance on what making up a room means. The fan in the room was missing the pull cord so the air circulation was stagnant. The paint job on the walls was a sore sight both in color selection and workmanship. It was a depressing feeling to relax in this room. The bathroom was not thoroughly clean, so my wife scoured the shower before she could use it. The two of us shower morn and evening so I had to call for two extra towels. Who uses 2 bath towels the size of face towels for 3 showers? The price quoted to me excluded tax much to my dismay, and had I known that I would have paid an extra 30 or 40 dollars at another hotel. The door leading to the bedroom was damaged to the extent of the veneer was flapping with no bottom and half the edge was missing on the side. The basin water faucet provided a narrow trickle of water. The microwave was old and missing a base leg missing. The coffee pot was set on top of the microwave which restricted the use of either because of safety, I unplugged the microwave. The light in the fridge did not work. I highly recommend that anyone booking a 100 a day room look elsewhere. I do not know who was renting upstairs but there were thuds and stomping noises till about 3 AM which ruined our sleep. (The noises were not "good" noises either, just stomping and running). I would have liked to have the prices e-mailed to me but the person on the Telephone said he had quoted me the lowest price and that with the confirmation number I would receive the best rate. I really wish that there was a way to rate negative stars. The GENERAL manager of all people cursing and slamming things all because you say that you don't care for the hotel. Then of all things tells me that he's going to call my boss because I said that I don't care for it and asked him to lose his attitude. I'm sorry that when you ask how my last stay was and I tell you that it was as good as all the other times which wasn't at all there is no reason to F this and F that. I'm sorry I work in an industry that requires great customer service and there is no way that I can see myself being like that to one of my customers no matter how mad they may make me. I mean I have stayed in some pretty bad hotels but this has got to top the list. Actually this is the only one that I have taken the time to write a review on. From the looks of things I'm not the only one that thinks this way about this hotel. On the other hand the few times that I have stayed here the employees are great, but with a guy like that over you I'm sure you have to be because of fear that one wrong word and the boss is going to snap.
