Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Houston

I would not recommend this restaurant. I decided to provided payment using my credit card. Unfortunately, I had to repeat my card number twice before the employee could attempt to process my card. There was background noise ringing in my hear so I am sure that it was ringing in the employees ear who was attempting to take my card number. So, she proceeds to inform me that my card is denied. Note, I have more than the approximate $28.00 in charges in my account. I am confident because I checked my account online. I attempt to give her the card number again by speaking ALOT louder than before, but she interrupts and asks me to start over and repeat it. By this time I am irritable and I am now screaming my card number when I am put on hold unexpectedly. So, I decide to hold just to see if anyone comes back to the phone; no one does. I call back only to get the employees name so that I can make a customer complaint and a person who identifies herself as the manager without a name takes over the phone conversation. She proceeds to inform me that I was cursing at her employee. Its astonishing to me that this person could here swearing but could not her me screaming my card number. Note that I did not swear at any employee.

I will be honest that my patience is short when I have to deal with incompetent people. However, I believe I tried to be tolerant until a manager who is suppose to have some skill and technique in resolving issues decided to blame me for their lack of professionalism. Having someone repeat their card number more than once over the telephone due to background noise caused by the staff was more than I can bear.

Very unfortunate to see this location go downhill. I'm not sure if it's a change of Management, but it's been my pizza of choice for 2 1/2 years. They're not the closest to me. In fact, I have the two other big competitor chains around the corner, but I've really love the quality of Papa Johns Pizza.

I don't know if it's a new corporate policy or the store has a policy, but it just does not make sense to me to drive all the way out here with the pizza, ring the doorbell and then leave if I don't get to the door in time.

I called the store to try to figure out what went wrong and they acted like they're not allowed to leave the pizza at my house? How is this benefiting anyone?

I've never had this problem in the past for deliveries. if I didn't answer the door, the driver would just leave the pizza there for me…

Literally having to order pizza from the competitor now as I write this review. Again, I've always loved this pizza chain, and the quality of the food but this specific location has really gone downhill. Just a bummer, I hope they can...

Do not order from this location!! They will send you an overcooked piece of bread, a squiggle of sauce, and a sprinkle of topping. My kids are allergic to dairy so we always get no cheese. The pic attached is what they sent me. They will not do anything to make it right. No refund, no remake, no comp on your next order. And then when you go back to ask them to make it right, they make it seem like it was your fault. I tried to warn other walk-in customers that this is there product and they threatened to call the cops me. Worst customer service experience I have ever had in my life. Stay away from this location at all costs!

PS. I forgot to take a picture of the pizza while it was still whole. My kids were starving because delivery took 1 hr 15 mins (I live 2 miles away). They started eating while I was on the phone complaining to a worker who was trying to convince me that this was a standard pizza. I have been ordering this same pizza for 5 years and it has never...
