I’ve been a semi regular here for 2 years. I have always felt welcomed. The food has always been solid, and we have had the sweetest servers. Tonight’s experience was nothing like my previous visits. I walked in to place an order to go. I was ignored for nearly for 2 minutes by the lady/mgr who was busy taking inventory of her freezer. It wasn’t until the line cook on the pass pointed out that I had been waiting that she even took notice. I placed my order. I was told I couldn’t have as much salsa as I wanted. Fair enough I guess as this was my first to go order. Usually my husband and I sit with 2 margaritas each and enjoy dinner on premise. No restrictions on salsa at the table. In fact - I’ve never had anything less than stellar service at the tables. This person seemed irritated I was even bothering her at 7:55 (an hour before closing per the signs on the window) because inventory was WAY more important than a customer. Even when the cook put my food in the window, I was ready to grab it and leave- but it took her 3 minutes to even notice. I probably wouldn’t have ever written this review- except for the fact that we are regular dine in customers and I was treated as an afterthought. Final straw was when I opened my bag of to go food to eat and it wasn’t what I ordered. Tacos “Lupita” you pay a premium for. But I was given regular tacos, no lupita add ons. So on top of being dismissed- I paid a premium for the ‘house taco style’ and was given tortillas with beef only, and attitude. Don’t think we will be back. Which is sad- because I care about supporting local businesses, and have been doing so for this one...

Let me start this review by stating, I’m from north Jersey. So I’ve grown up around a lot of Mexican, Dominican, Puerto Rican, and Colombian food spots. From hole in the wall places, to well reviewed establishments. I can say none of them have come close to the things I have experienced here. The sauces they bring to your table are all on point. Ranging from spicy to just a bit sweet. The small tease of beans they bring out to you too is soooo flavorful. It gets the appetite rolling and prepare you for whatever you ordered. I had the barbacoa tacos, with the corn tortillas. My wife had the steak ones. When I tell you I tasted the love and passion in each mouth watering, meat melting bite. I literally was reminded of the day I first met my wife and had a moment of unrivaled bliss. Baby if you’re reading this. These tacos made me cheat, I still love you though lol. Honestly get down here to this place. It’s small, intimate, and filled with good vibes and even better food. I will always make this a priority stop whenever...

Went with my husband end of Jan-there was only 1 man at the other table doing paperwork. We walked in, the 2 young guys didn’t say anything to us so we asked if we just sit. We waited while 3 people walked in to get their to go food and wondered if they will tend to us, young guy came and handed us the menu we ordered then asked for chips since the other guy had some, then we asked for salsa since they didn’t bring any. They didn’t bring us comp beans. I think they judged us and didn’t care to take care of us but they are very wrong about us-we are good people and tip very well. 2 young couples came in and they were greeted/chips-sauce-beans at their table right away so different than us. It’s very sad to get treated this way not sure if because we’re older, or thought we didn’t have money which we do, or because they think we’re from who knows where. The food was good but makes me think the guys are stuck up and...

Okay Tik Tok brought us to this place and I can say it didn't disappoint. The food was delicious and full of cheese and plenty of meat. They also have the red Mexican soda (Fruit Punch) which is kinda rare to see in restaurants. The service was really nice and attentive when taking our order and giving us what we needed. They also provided their opinion on certain foods we had questions about. The reason I give this place 4 out of 5 was because the server stopped attending to us after a while when there was only 2 families in the restaurant during the middle of the week and the fact the salsa doesn't come in a small bowl to dip the chips in only in bottles. But other than that this place was great and we will be back that is for sure!

I just had some of the best tacos. I know that's a big name to put on something in South Texas, but right now I'm pretty sure I am right. Lupita is different than your typical restaurant. They have found the secret. Instead of flaunting their numerous menu options, they are fine-tuning their cooks great talent. I went with their namesake dish, the Lupita tacos. Bistec with avocado and cheese on homemade corn tortillas. They presented an array of salsas and instead of doing the typical rice and refried beans, they bring out charro beans with their chips, complimentary. And they had homemade Limonada to wash it all down. 10/5 stars. Even the pickiest of eaters would love the true flavor in their authentic, homemade meals.
