I woke up in the early hours of the morning, around 1:00 a.m., propelled by a sense of urgency. My fiancé is pregnant, and as her partner, it is my responsibility to ensure her comfort during this crucial time. One of the issues we encountered during our stay was the firmness of the beds provided in our accommodation. They were rather hard, and I knew that having extra tiles and pillows would greatly alleviate any discomfort she was experiencing. With a bit of determination, I decided it was necessary to head down to the front desk to request additional supplies. However, as I navigated the dimly lit halls, I couldn't help but feel a mix of anticipation and annoyance. It was late, and the atmosphere was quiet, almost eerie. I could hear the faint sound of air conditioning and the echoes of my footsteps against the tiled floor. The solitude of the moment only heightened my awareness of the situation at hand. When I finally arrived at the front desk, I was greeted by a young staff member who appeared to be in the midst of a night shift. As I expressed my needs for extra tiles and pillows, along with a request for more toilet tissue, I was met with a surprising response. To my dismay, the staff informed me that they had no extra sheets, pillows, or tiles available at that hour. It felt utterly ridiculous to me. How could a hotel, which prides itself on providing comfort and service, be completely out of essential items, especially at such an inconvenient time? I couldn't help but think about how critical this situation was for my fiancé's well-being. Pregnancy brings about many physical changes, often making comfort not just a luxury, but a necessity. I wondered how a hotel could overlook the importance of ensuring that their amenities were well-stocked, particularly at night when many guests may need assistance. My frustration grew as I considered the preposterousness of this scenario. Despite my annoyance, I tried to keep my composure and maintained a polite tone while speaking to the staff member. After all, I understood that they were merely doing their job, albeit under what seemed to be challenging circumstances. Yet, deep down, I was truly incredulous at the lack of preparedness. In that moment, a mix of humor and disbelief washed over me. Here I was, a man in the middle of the night, standing at the front desk of a hotel, trying to secure extra pillows and tiles to ensure my pregnant fiancé's comfort. The thought alone felt surreal, almost comical. I found myself silently chuckling at how absurd life can be, throwing unexpected challenges my way even during what was supposed to be a peaceful getaway. Realizing I wasn’t going to get the assistance I sought, I took a step back and reassessed. Perhaps I could explore alternative solutions. After all, creative problem-solving is a vital skill in times of distress. I glanced around the lobby, which was moderately decorated and equipped with various seating arrangements, and wondered if I could perhaps use some cushions or blankets from the lounge area, albeit temporarily.this doesn't...
Read moreI recently had the misfortune to stay at this Courtyard Houston Brookhollow and it was by far the worst hotel i've ever stayed at and I travel ALOT.
A large roach awaited me when I checked into the room. I thought it was a piece of the carpet that had torn but nope it was like a 2 inch dead roach that your security guard (who was dispatched to come collect it said had been dead a long time)
Someone in the adjoining room kept trying to come into my room. I mentioned I had concerns for my safety because the first day the curtain was stuck in the door showing that someone had gone through the door while I had occupied the room. Despite this I was told that there would be no refunds, and they couldn't change my room as they were fully booked.
I was not able to use the bathroom in my room for half the day nor wash my hands. The toilet was stopped up when I checked in and after I used the facilities and flushed it started overflowing. When I went to go wash my hands I was met with NO WATER. I both called and messaged down to the front desk for several hours and was told simply that they were working on it and they'd let me know when it was done. Eventually I found out on my own that the water was back on but the toilet was still clogged and I had to call repeatedly to get someone to come and snake it. I had only peed so it had been clogged when I had got in which makes me wonder if they even cleaned it because they would have known it was clogged had they flushed it.
Our room was not serviced once during the time we were there from Tuesday through Saturday despite the fact that I told the front desk person and clicked in the app that we wanted room services. We had to call or message for towels each day including a batch delivered by the security guard who came up and get the roach with his bare hands because the front desk person forgot to tell the maintenance person. When I mentioned this to the security guard he asked for some tissue to get it.
I do not typically leave public reviews but I will be doing so everywhere for this property because when I asked if I could get my money refunded for the remaining nights so that I could go somewhere that was CLEAN, had consistent RUNNING WATER and CLEAN SHEETS I was told that my reservation was prepaid and it was therefore not possible. I am POSITIVE that having running water, a bathroom to use, being safe and not having people come into your room, and not having bugs running around are all REASONABLE requests established by hotel bill or rights. The front desk person said they were aware that there was bugs and about the water but there was no where else that i could go and they couldn't...
Read moreI'm really dissapointed with my stay in Courtyard Houston Brookhollow, I arrived on friday oct 25 before midnight. I paid in advanced for 2 rooms 4 people. When I arrived to reception, the person told me that they didn't have information about my payment and they need my card to check. But the person used my card to charge U$ 166 for the night in the hotel. After that I required the refund of that money, and she called the manager who said he can't do anything until the next day. After that see told me that she needs the card again to charge U$ 20 for security deposit, I told her that she lie me and I didn't want to give my card again, she told me that was just for security deposit to give me the rooms. I gave her my card again and when I checked my account she charged for U$ 90, so in total they charge me U$ 253. The worst part of this is that I received to rooms, 323 and 353, when I arrived at room 353 and I prepared to sleep, I saw a luggage and a pair of shoes, so I was really surprised because never in a marriott hotel I had a bad experience. Because the people in the reception didn't answer the call, I had to return to the reception and they said "another mistake. Sorry". On saturday at 6 a.m, I required the reception for the money that they charged me last night, and they just gave me the receipt with the advance payment that I did on sept 25/2015, so I didn't understand how now they can see that I paid in advance and last night No, but they never gave me an answer. Finally I told the lady that I got to go and I need to do the check out, she told me that they needed to check the rooms and I had to wait for a while. That was a new surprise, because never in marriott I had to wait for that. After 10 minutes waiting a manager arrived to the hotel and told me that they refund the money and no problem with check out.
I feel really unhappy and disturbed for that situation. I'll go to do public this situation in social media because the hotel exposed to my family and other guests in the room 353 to an annoying situation and could even...
