So I think the front desk staff were excellent. The person that fixes the key card system on the doors was pleasant but complained he worked too hard and too much. The lady cleaning the glass was only doing a half ass job. Most the glass and there's a lot of glass including on the elevators that was not even close to properly cleaned. The glass near the Koi ponds wasn't and isn't very well cleaned. I would think they would factually care to make sure the glass along the entry ways going past the magnificent and beautiful koi pond that even went under the walkways would be shiny and properly cleaned without so much smearing and unkempt look to it. I was very impressed by the magnificent Koi ponds and though as the feature it would be way better maintained. Yes there was a convention there but the smearing and streaks was old half hearted attempts at cleaning them as I was there looking before 95% of the other convention people showed up. I also watched the female employee only going through the motions not cleaning it with any true effort and I bet the glass on the elevators is still streaked and smeared badly. But this really doesn't outweigh how magnificent the front desk staff were. Their attitudes were excellent and their customer service skills were what you should expect from such a grand hotel. I'll definetly be back. Now I must also speak on the high priced eatery. The wait staff were extremely slow with only 7-8 tables being used by customers when I ate. The glass I recieved for water had egg or something all over it as the picture shows. The food was great but the szrvice was super slow and not attentive or friendly. They weren't rude just not a happy or fun atmosphere group of people. The omelet chef was a pleasure to talk to a deal with though. As an ex waiter myself I couldn't believe how expensive the food was without the customer service you would expect to go with it. They did have a gym and little store in the hotel and the staff that worked the convention were well organized courteous and polite. As I do a lot of reviews throughout the US and other countries I have to speak my truth. I will definetly go back given the need or opportunity but I hope they realize the big attraction is the koi pond and clean it up making it the highlight it can and should be and clean the beautiful glass and the elevator glass better. Also the trip and fall hazard dip in the 4th floor walkway needs to be addressed that is also shown in the pictures.

I recently stayed at for a solo staycation over Valentine’s weekend, drawn by its appealing photos and location. While the lobby’s ambiance and the exceptional comfort of the bed stood out, the overall experience was marred by several issues. Pros: • Lobby and Bed: The lobby exudes a welcoming atmosphere, and the bed was among the most comfortable I’ve experienced. • Air Conditioning: The room’s AC was efficient, maintaining a pleasantly cool environment. • Chromecast Availability: The TV’s Chromecast feature allowed for seamless streaming from personal devices. • Friendly Staff: The employees were courteous and eager to assist. Cons: • Outdated Décor: The room’s furniture appeared worn and reminiscent of the 1980s, with mismatched patterns on curtains and upholstery. • Bathroom Facilities: The bathroom featured an old-fashioned tub with a shower curtain. During use, the tub didn’t drain properly, causing water to accumulate and come into contact with the curtain—a hygiene concern. • Maintenance Issues: The carpet was lifting in areas, and the toilet had low pressure accompanied by a lingering loud noise post-flush. • Unpleasant View and Noise: My window faced a rooftop, offering an unappealing view. Additionally, there was a recurring banging noise every hour or two, disrupting the tranquility. • Breakfast Experience: The breakfast buffet, priced at $26, was underwhelming with bland offerings. Opting for à la carte might have been a better choice. The servers, though polite, seemed overwhelmed, leading to slow service. • Fitness Center: The gym housed outdated equipment. Notably, the Peloton bike was out of order, limiting workout options. In summary, despite some positive aspects, the hotel’s outdated facilities and maintenance shortcomings detracted from the experience. Considering the premium rate during the Valentine’s weekend, it didn’t offer the expected value for money. I would recommend exploring other accommodations with more modern amenities and better upkeep.

I am staying at this hotel for 10 nights. On my second night, while trying to fall asleep, I found a bed bug crawling about 6 inches from me on the bed. I took a Live Photo video on my iPhone showing the insect clearly — it is indisputably a bed bug. When I killed it, blood splattered on the bedding. The front desk’s initial response was to change my room and send my clothes for cleaning. I was told management would follow up, but after multiple days nobody contacted me. Only when I went back to the front desk myself did they agree to comp the first three nights of my stay. At that point, I considered the matter resolved. Unfortunately, today I received a baffling call from the hotel. A woman informed me that their “investigation” found no bed bugs in the room, which apparently means they don’t intend to take any further action to ensure future guests aren’t exposed to these parasites. That is unacceptable. Bed bugs are not something you can dismiss just because none were spotted in a quick inspection. The evidence is on my phone, and even the blood-stained bedding was left behind when I moved rooms. To future guests: be aware that the fifth floor (where I initially stayed) is fully carpeted and has adjoining rooms — conditions where bed bugs can easily spread. If Hyatt Regency chooses to ignore photographic and physical evidence from a guest rather than take proactive action, it raises serious concerns about their commitment to cleanliness and guest safety. If you find bed bugs while staying here, please know that Hyatt was already made aware of their existence, was offered proof, and chose to ignore it, putting your safety in jeopardy. Note: it won’t let me upload the video, so I’ve taken multiple screenshots of the video showing the bed bug crawling across the bed.

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional service and hospitality we experienced during our recent stay at your hotel.

After a challenging experience at Royal Sonesta Houston Galleria earlier in the day, we were fortunate to find refuge and outstanding service at Hyatt Regency Houston West, which completely turned our trip around.

Upon arrival, exhausted and frustrated from the difficulties at Royal Sonesta, we were greeted with genuine kindness and efficiency by your team. Despite our last-minute reservation and the challenges we faced earlier, the staff at Hyatt Regency Houston West immediately made us feel welcomed and valued.

Our room provided a much-needed sanctuary. It was impeccably clean, with a comfortable bed and all the amenities we needed for a relaxing stay. The contrast from our previous experience was stark and deeply appreciated.

Throughout our stay, your team members consistently went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and ensure our comfort. They were attentive, courteous, and understanding of the challenges we had encountered earlier in our trip. Their professionalism and dedication to guest satisfaction were truly commendable.

The facilities at Hyatt Regency Houston West were excellent, offering everything we needed and more. The hotel's location was convenient, providing easy access to local attractions and dining options, which further enhanced our experience.

We are happy to learn that your team members exceeded our expectations. In particular, [mention specific names or departments if known], demonstrated exceptional service and made a significant positive impact on our stay.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the entire team at Hyatt Regency Houston West for their outstanding service and hospitality. Your efforts made a significant difference and turned what could have been a disappointing trip into a memorable and enjoyable stay.

We highly recommend Hyatt Regency Houston West to anyone visiting the area and seeking a reliable and welcoming hotel experience. Thank you once again...

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. For the most part overall it was great but also had some cons. The location was perfect I was in town for a family thing and my family members live in different areas of Houston so it worked out great. The main floor/lobby of this hotel is really beautiful and smells amazing! They have a koi pond throughout the main floor and you can feed the fish upon request. I did dine at the Cafe on the lake for breakfast and it was delicious. A bit pricey but good quality food and fantastic coffee. The staff were wonderful. The couple things that were on my con list are the bed was too hard for my liking. Just felt like a flat surface on springs and it just made me so stiff and achy. Now if you prefer a firm bed this will suit you. The other issue I had was there was a banging that happened all day and night long. It wasn't just my room I had other family that came into town and stayed there as well on a totally different hall and had the same issues. It was crazy to me that no one has mentioned this before. In the room they have one big duct for the heating/cooling. The vent is a large square on the wall and the banging comes from the duct. My family member thought maybe there was some flap in there opening and closing but I'm not sure that was it. It sounds like if someone swung a door open and it slams against the wall. But the sound varies sometimes it sounds like it's in your room or right on the other side of the wall sometimes it sounded like it was further away etc. Either way this would go on all hours of the night and day 3am it didn't matter. Several times it scared me to death while I was sleeping or falling asleep at night. There's no rhyme or reason to it either you can't time the noise it's random so when you least expect it. I managed since it was just a weekend trip. The shower however was great because they have wonderful water pressure. That was definitely a highlight. The toilet flushed very slow but the shower was very relaxing. The hotel would have been absolutely perfect with a better mattress and no...
