Great park with scenic hiking amd bike trails. The bayou runs the length of the park with lots of wildlife. I've only seen rabbits, a number of cranes, and squirrels but its nice to see them out and about. If you're into cycling, the trail has a number of nice hills to give you a good workout. I'm now realizing I need a better bike as all of the carbon fiber cliques fly right by me. I love it though. There arr even a few exercise stations scattered throughout in çase you want to vary your workout. Pullup bars and sit up benches, there are even book stations where you can grab a free book to read, if you're more into the serenity of it all. I have also seen a number of people fishing in the bayou. So there's really something for everyone... Very kid and pet friendly with nice open areas for dogs to run and kids to play. At the far end of thr trail near I-10, there is a very nice gazebo area with bathrooms. Im here at least several times a week riding as it seems gyms may be out of commission for a while. Highly...

If this was a dedicated hiking trail, it would be fantastic. As we are getting ready for a major backpacking trip where fortunately there will be no cyclists. If you don't mind dodging the cyclists and want a pretty place to hike, this is a nice park. Especially for the Houston area and has lots of shade without the hassles that come along with State Park crowds. Just be aware parking is surprisingly limited...
Read moreAnd the bluebonnets are starting to come in! The last couple of years it's been very nice. With the latest warm up they seem to feel it's time to blossom. It's fun to see families bringing the little ones to snap some photos with bluebonnets without having to drive far. Not quite a great spread yet, but I'm sure in another week or two it will be great. Update: March11 bluebonnets are taking over! :) I even added a location on Google maps to identify where it's happening. Update March 23: blooming still going on, some areas just starting so we should have bluebonnets around for a while. Added a photo from...
