Large, cold, open space next to a small koi pond that extends outside to large pond - hardly a lake. This place is to the side of the Omni Hotel lobby, it’s sterile and devoid of charm
There was a choice of a buffet and the menu fair. Had Crabmeat Benedict that smelled rank, served with out-of-the-can gooey warm sauce, with good poached eggs, and soggy semi- toasted muffins. Muffin basket consisted to two warm rolls on a white plate for two persons.
Service is somewhat efficient for a cafe that was empty with the exception of two tables. We had to ask for our order again after giving it to the waiter.

It was my birthday and they did give me special treatment, but I'm pretty sure the delicious lump crab salad I got was as fresh and tasty as that served to everyone. The added grilled shrimp were perfectly seasoned and topped off the salad perfectly. This combo could not have been better at a 5 star seafood restaurant any where else in Houston. Mary was the food concierge who looked over our meal and Carlos was our super attentive and gracious waiter. We ate the buffet, a great selection of great tasting food for a decent price, plus you must remember this is a hotel, so expectations should be focused on quantity more than quality, but this place had both, and juice comes with the breakfast, plus the scenery with the water is calming and nice seeing as we are in Houston.
