The corn and shrimp bisque had one shrimp and about five corn kernels. It was the first brown corn bisque I’ve ever tried and it tasted like actual dirt. The fats were separated from the soup so it had been sitting a long time. The panini was pretty, but not edible. Hard as a rock bread, that wasn’t the sourdough in the menu. The chicken was dry and hard but swimming in pesto. The tomatoes seemed past their prime or previously frozen. Don’t let the pretty menu and decor fool you into expecting good food.

Food is reasonable ok for a hotel like this in the Houston area, but that is not for what my 5-star review is about. Any morning I had the change to walk in the restaurant a smile always received me saying good morning and pointing me to Mr P., who most of the time helped me while getting my breakfast. A 5-star review for both Mrs. Ana y Mr. Pedro…..who made my morning every time they welcomed me. Gracias Ana Gracias Pedro

The breakfast here is decent hotel fare. The pancakes are very different and you will either love them or hate them. They weren't my favorite. Service was nice enough but they seemed overworked as there was only one person waiting tables and hosting.

Large, cold, open space next to a small koi pond that extends outside to large pond - hardly a lake. This place is to the side of the Omni Hotel lobby, it’s sterile and devoid of charm

There was a choice of a buffet and the menu fair. Had Crabmeat Benedict that smelled rank, served with out-of-the-can gooey warm sauce, with good poached eggs, and soggy semi- toasted muffins. Muffin basket consisted to two warm rolls on a white plate for two persons.

Service is somewhat efficient for a cafe that was empty with the exception of two tables. We had to ask for our order again after giving it to the waiter.

So if your hankering for Denny's-like expensive food in a sterile, cold lobby, then this...

We just had a wonderful experience at the Omni Westside Houston Cafe on the Lake. It was my birthday and they did give me special treatment, but I'm pretty sure the delicious lump crab salad I got was as fresh and tasty as that served to everyone. The added grilled shrimp were perfectly seasoned and topped off the salad perfectly. This combo could not have been better at a 5 star seafood restaurant any where else in Houston. Mary was the food concierge who looked over our meal and Carlos was our super attentive and gracious waiter. The hotel was clean and comfortable and made for a very pleasant and highly recommended place to stay and eat while traveling...

We had breakfast at around 9am, service was fantastic, it wasn’t busy for the space they have but I’d say the 2 servers had 3-4 tables each. We ate the buffet, a great selection of great tasting food for a decent price, plus you must remember this is a hotel, so expectations should be focused on quantity more than quality, but this place had both, and juice comes with the breakfast, plus the scenery with the water is calming and nice seeing as we are in Houston. We will definitely return! Great food, good value, great service,...
