I don’t typically post reviews but I was quite motivated to do so given the really terrible experience I’ve had here. Let me start by saying I am a frequent traveler and have been to many resorts; however this was the first real family vacation we have had in 5 years. Having stayed in San Juan several times, we decided to stay in Humacao and explore the southeast part of the island. We enjoy resorts for the added comfort and amenities, so despite the mixed reviews, we decided to give this a chance. BIG MISTAKE. In fact by Tuesday I started looking for other accommodations in San Juan which we are booked or way out of our budget.

I will acknowledge the grounds are beautiful with lovely views of the mountains and plenty of greenery and “island” feel. The staff are polite and I dont have anything negative to say about them personally; however they are clearly short staffed. And it’s not a Covid related thing. And also I was pleased to see that they were taking good precautions in that respect, everyone wearing masks PROPERLY. With that said, that’s about all I can say positively.

The resort itself has clear potential but it has clearly not been maintained AT ALL! We arrived on Sunday and as of Tuesday, we have made an active effort to spend as little time as possible in the actual resort specifically because of how terrible the accommodations are. After we went into a new (second) room the same day we checked in and ran into even more problems, I started keeping a list of problems and it has grown. Keep in mind that today is Thursday and we don’t leave until Saturday. Here is the list:

Room 233: Water pooling by sliding doors AC dripping onto couch which is drenched Phone not working

Room 130: Outside of door is covered in condensation There is also a very large obvious gap above the door at least an inch to inch and half. Door doesn’t lock AT ALL: lock doesn’t turn and no safety latch (fixed) There are no decorations in the room, just bare white cement walls with a sad tapestry behind the beds Sliding door is impossible to open or close and doesn’t lock. Keeps coming off the rail. TV wasn’t working (fixed) Toilet doesn’t flush well. I was told no toilet paper in the toilet, put in trash instead. I mentioned we are 3 people and it will smell. Was told to call for pick up of trash, and I quickly said NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONES. Another guest told me they have been waiting a whole week with trash still piling up. Sink doesn’t shut off correctly since the handle moves a full 180 degrees and you have to find the sweet spot midway to turn water off. Sink is partially clogged and fills up since it’s not draining properly Only 1 disposable cup despite a room with 2 queen size beds and a coffee maker There was NO comforters on either bed but a very old ratty thin brown throw on BOTH BEDS (fixed) No tissue box in the room No room service at all My 5year old Daughter slipped and fell in the tub cause no slipgaurd inside tub Only two washcloths and three towels despite a room for 4 people.

General issues : No one picks up the phones whether calling externally or internally. Even despite calling all the different extensions listed inside the room. TV has limited channels (mostly in Spanish) and no offering for movies or such. Tv also has poor reception. I have a 5 year old so this becomes an issue. Another guest said they haven’t had a working tv the entire week. WiFi is terrible and inconsistent even with their password. Food service is PAINFULLY slow and severely overpriced considering the quality. We waited over a half hour for breakfast our first morning which was for a yogurt with fruit and granola and “full breakfast” (eggs over easy, mashed potatoes, pancake, and pork sausage). No reason for the Full breakfast to cost $18 and yet yogurt with fresh fruit was $9??? Makes no sense. What is most sad about this experience is that the resort, which seems more like a glorified hotel, has so...

The resort was clean, the grounds were beautiful and well kept and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this but there are some thing to know before your stay. There is not actually an adults only pool. The infinity pool and its swim up bar was full of children every day. One of the reasons we chose this resort was for some adult time without children. None the less we enjoyed our time relaxing at the pool and the bartender was great- I believe his name was Joesph. He was very attentive even with the crowds on the weekend. Drinks are 15+ each and we were yelled out for having a cooler bag with non alcoholic drinks (not by the bar staff but by some other woman that was presumably security). Sundays from 4pm until the end of the night the family pool was closed for a party hosted by Trova that evidently happens every week. This of course meant the the adult pool was packed. Also the party plays loud music until after 11 pm which can be heard in the rooms. Pool towels were scarce, luckily we brought our own. Morning yoga was great- if you’re a morning person I would make a point to enjoy time under the trees with a little yoga. She knows all the modifications for any level of experience. You will not have a “beach day” on the beach at the resort. It is covered in seaweed and has very little actual beach and there are riptides and bad undercurrents. It was nice for a little walk and I’m sure kids could still enjoy playing in the sand. But not a swimming or relaxing beach. I was traveling with a friend and our 2 queen bed room we reserved was not available when we checked in and we were given a king room instead. They did give us a resort credit but it would have been nice to have slept in our own beds since this was a trip for 2 mom friends to have time away- and you know relax and sleep. The king bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. The pull out couch which they prepared for us for was horrible. We just shared the king.

Food- the coffee shop has delicious coffee. You should know if you take cream in your coffee the only way to get it is in a latte. To be honest even gas stations had amazing lattes in the area. You can’t go wrong with Puerto Rician coffee. The pizza at the pool was good with fresh ingredients. Trova, the onsite restaurant was terrible: we were over charged (35 dollars for one well martini), the red snapper was not cooked properly and was bland at best. The staff was friendly but never even pretended like they thought we would enjoy anything but the appetizers. To be fair the whipped feta appetizer was absolutely a treat. But not enough to make up for the rest of the meal. You are much better going down to the plaza or offsite completely. They run shuttles to the marina and plaza with a variety of registrants for the gated community they are within. The wait time for the shuttle is usually 30 minutes after you request it, so plan accordingly. Overall, things I learned, the island has not fully recovered from Maria, and knowing this makes a lot of things less significant to complain about. Many stop lights and areas have power outages weekly. You won’t see signs of this on the resort but when driving you will encounter stop lights not working some days. Remember you are on island time, so expect delays and you’ll be better. If you drive the potholes and island road rules are brutal, and expect delays off the highways due to horses - which I found entertaining and not annoying but just a thing to know. There are shopping centers and great small towns very close. We had a couple trips to the Walmart 15 minutes away for some previsions . You can’t get Ubers but the front desk will help you with taxi- if one...

If I can give this review zero stars I would. For my first time in Puerto Rico with my boyfriend this hotel was the biggest downside of the trip

We did not get our room serviced for THREE days

The first day we notified the front desk our room was not serviced. Housekeeping came to clean the room and but did not take the dirty towels. We went to the front desk again to get our towels and had to wait to get new towels. The second day we notified the front desk we were going into town all day & we need our room cleaned. The front desk confirmed they would clean the room.

We left the hotel at 12pm, came back at 9pm and our room was not cleaned. Keep in mind the front desk confirmed they would have housekeeping come. When I explained the situation to the night manager he turned around and interrupted me while I was explaining how we haven't had our room serviced for three days. He said the only thing he can do was give us clean towels, toilet paper, send an email to housekeeping, and put us for housekeeping for first thing in the morning they start.

Luckily, the manager who was notified of this situation was helpful. When the housekeeping came by they left a wet spot on the bed from the picture below. We notified the manager AGAIN about the wet spot on the bed. Housekeeping came by AGAIN to fix the bed. This was truly unacceptable.

Food- The food and drinks was pricey. Some days it was good some days it was just ok, definitely not worth the price.

Room- The room was outdated for sure. In the picture below was our sliding door and it was not allowed to be opened. The heat was not working for the AC. We notified the front desk but they never came to fix it. Some of the cold settings would be freezing or super warm. The tv didn't have a lot options. Thank goodness for wifi so we used our streaming services on our phones. The safe stopped working at one point so we had to call maintenance. We used our suitcase since there was only two small drawers so we only had room to use them for our dirty clothes. The room definitely needs renovations.

Towels for the pool- The towel stand gives you a ticket for the towels. If you don't return the towels with the ticket you’ll get charged- be aware of this. We also had issues getting more than two towels with the reasoning being “we only give one towel per person.”

The hotel doesn't have hot water at all. It was either luke warm or cold. Who knows how long they haven't had hot water based on the other recent reviews.

Overall- I would give them zero stars. The service here was very infuriating and put a dent on our experience. I highly recommend you choose another hotel.

Edit: When I had my bill adjusted due to my horrible experience here I was charged for parking the entire visit when we only rented a car for two days. It was confirmed when I checked out that I would get a call once everything was adjusted. I had to call the hotel twice to confirm everything was adjusted when I promised a call. Today I was charged more than what I was supposed to pay and the bill was not properly adjusted. This is extremely infuriating and waste...

We will likely not visit this resort again. We chose it because of the "all-inclusive" option, but it was the most non-inclusive "all-inclusive" resort I've ever stayed on. They give you an uncomfortable plastic wristband to wear the entire stay to show that you are an all-inclusive guest. Other Wyndham resorts give you an elastic wristband that you can at least take off when you want. Then, they give you paper coupons/vouchers for each person and each meal that you have to keep up with. The humidity in the rooms causes them to become damp and very fragile when handling. Why wasn't the wristband enough to show that you're an all-inclusive guest for meals? Well, because there was a cap on the meals you ordered and only certain ones from the very limited menu (which was for lunch and dinner) were included in that package. For breakfast, only a pastry and coffee/juice was included. As all-inclusive guests, we would have had to pay $10 for the limited buffet. Why not wrap the $10 into the package?? The problem with the pastries was that the case had a lot of little bugs flying around in it constantly. The first morning of our stay, I pointed that out to the employee and she pretended not to know what the word "bugs" meant and then got an attitude and became rude when I asked if there were other options not in the case. She then gave us lattes with lids and straws. The lids did not have holes. We saw another customer with her starw in her lid and asked where she got the lid so we can get one from the same place. She explained that they (the employees) would make a hole if asked, so we asked. The same employee got very irritated, grabbed a pair of scissors and started to erratically stab the top of one of our lids. I kindly took my complaint to the front desk and the manager handled it promptly with kindness. She allowed us to eat at the $10 buffet for free that morning. Each morning of our stay, there were bugs in the pastry case. The employees on duty offered different options after that first morning. The food in the case should be covered to mitigate the issue. I was very disappointed with this resort. A friend traveling with me is an owner but I booked as a non-owner. She was very disappointed and embarrassed. I asked one of the very nice servers at dinner one night why it takes so long for food. They advised that the entire kitchen staff quit and there was one cook handling all 3 meals for both restaurants and room service. They went on to say that no one likes working there. We were surprised by the candor. It is a beautiful property, the food and drinks were wonderful (once you finally got them) but I think I will stick with Sandals from now on.

Nice clean room, daily cleaning and change of towels, very comfortable pillows and mattress. Two swimming pools, one jacuzzi. Clean and green area. Good and fast internet. The absence of a beach as such, we went exclusively for the beach, but the beach is covered in seaweed, there is no infrastructure, no sunbeds, no service, nothing at all. The pictures on the Internet, in particular on Booking.com, are absolutely not true. It is very cold in the restaurant, the first day we sat for breakfast outside, on the second day we were not allowed in, they said it was closed. Naturally, no one gives blankets. The hotel provides a complimentary shuttle around the territory to neighboring bars and restaurants, we got there without problems, in order to return back you need to call on the phone, having spent almost 40 minutes and made 15 calls, I finally got through, very inconvenient. On Monday, for breakfast in the restaurant, more than half of the dishes on the menu were not available. There are five dishes on the menu, three were missing. Very long service in the restaurant, for example, only two tables were occupied for breakfast, drinks are brought incredibly slowly. Sometimes food is brought faster than drinks. No large full-length mirror in the room, only a small one in the bathroom. There are torches all over the territory that should burn in the dark, but naturally no one is going to set them on fire. Every time there was a new waiter for breakfast and every time there were new rules about what is included in breakfast and what is not. Dear hotel, develop a unified policy so that all waiters say the same thing. The bar closes in front of my nose, when I ask to take a bottle of champagne with me, he says that everything is turned off and, unfortunately, they cannot sell us. After refusing at the bar, I went to the restaurant, there is absolutely no one in the restaurant, I waited for an unopened bottle for about 20 minutes. Finally, the waitress came and said that there is no wine in the restaurant. And most importantly, of course, the price is overpriced, as it seemed to me, at least twice. With all the taxes, we paid almost $ 1,000 for 4 nights. Expensive. I have to rewrite this review and give the hotel 1 star. When I returned home and rechecked the bill, I found that the hotel had charged me for parking. Despite the fact that I used a taxi and I didn't have a car. I contacted the hotel, they pretended to work hard and did not return anything. It's just terrible how the hotel deceive tourists. NEVER CHOOSE THIS HOTEL. Terrible attitude and you are being tried everywhere
