This hotel is not bad, the service is great, the rooms are new and clean, the staff is wonderful and very accommodating, the breakfast is fresh and filling, and overall experience is great.
The lamps in the room all have 120VAC receptacles and they're also on the desk, wall, and by the microwave (has a USB type A there as well).
Breakfast included orange juice, apple juice, cereal (three kinds), fresh cut fruits, waffle iron + batter, scrambled eggs, cheese omelet, sausage (regular and turkey), boiled egg, coffee, and slice nuts and dried banana slices for the cereal.
The TV is also high quality video and works well with my firetv. Just make sure that you plug the HDMI into the box hooked up to the TV and not the TV's HDMI port. If you plug it into the TV's port, then you'll be unable to control the TV. The TV is controlled via the remote which communicates with the box.
The pool is also clean, but rather small.
4-stars because it's not perfect:
WIFI is only 5mbps! this is slow compared to the 2-stars hotels and motels over stayed at. I also prefer connecting my laptop to a lan port, but none were available.
The lights in the hallway, lobby, and conference room are BRIGHT. I walked out of my room, on many occasions and different times, and get overwhelmed by the lights. The first sign was entering the lobby at like 9pm and seeing it lit up like a hospital. While eating breakfast and watching TV, the lights overwhelm my eyes in the lobby. They should dim/turn them off since there's lots of sunlight in the lobby. I think the lights in the hallway need to be dim too; no need to look like a hospital corridor with it flooding your eyes with that much light.
We used the lights in the conference rooms and they were also bright. They do have two zones of lights, but for me and couple, the fewer lights were also just bright. We ended up turning off all lights and opening the drapes for natural lighting.
The conference room could also use ports on the desk because we had the guy hook up his laptop to the TV using his cable. This created a hazard for people walking and not seeing it; get either clothes-lined or knock off the laptop. It would also help to have a whiteboard...
Read moreThis has been the worst hotel experience EVER! Upon checking in, I ran up to the room, turned on the lights and walked in. I encountered a man who yelled, as I entered. I do not blame the man who had been sound asleep in my room. Who wouldn’t be startled by a stranger walking into your room at 1am? The front desk proceeded to tell me that the man had checked out earlier that day. NOPE!!! Guess, again. As it turned out, the only room available was with a king size bed. We were a party of four and our oldest daughter was 5 months pregnant. We were told the room would be comped and that we would receive our original request (double queen beds), the following day. We were awoken the following morning with housekeeping knocking and a phone call asking if we were checking out. I proceeded to the front office and spoke to the general manager, who stated he could not explain the confusion and realized how detrimental that mistake could have been. The manager told me we’d be getting the room next to ours and that it had the queen double beds. I asked how long this would take as we were in town for a Taekwondo competition. His response was, “not long”. Forty-five minutes later, we had to leave and were told they would soon be cleaning our new room. We returned at 8:30 pm and discovered that ALL of our belongings had been moved to our new room without our authorization. I was told I was emailed and called numerous times. Note...not one missed call and email received was at 4pm, from an individual, not from the Fairfield. On another note, our keys to our king room still worked. We discovered our belongings had been moved when we walked into our king room and noticed all of our stuff was missing. We hadn’t packed as we were just moving next door. Obviously, we assumed we would be moving our toothbrushes and other personal items ourselves, especially in the Covid era. Word of advice, Stay elsewhere!! This is NOT what anyone would ever expect from a Marriott. There’s a Hampton Inn by...
Read moreI don’t know who did it, or how, but this establishment has completely turned around. I had to look for a complaint to put in this review – I did not have a Do Not Disturb sign in my room. Yup, that’s it. When I arrived, the Front Desk was well staffed with smiling faces, I was thanked for my patronage with Marriott, and check in was quick and pleasant. My room was exceptionally clean, the bathroom was stocked and set up with new shower curtain and fluffy new towels, the bed was soft, clean, and made up with what appeared to be new sheets. On the desk was a basket of snacks and water, along with a HAND WRITTEN “thank you for your patronage” note from Shirley, who is fabulous. This establishment no longer welcomes you with a dirty welcome mat at the front door, they welcome you with an open-armed hug. The real clincher was the next morning at breakfast. The food was fresh (no powdered eggs here!) hot and plentiful. More importantly, the guests were pleasant with one another, and everyone cheerfully waited their turn at the food bar. This is a sign of well cared for and well-rested guests – no grumpies in the room at all!! I earned my status with Marriott by staying lots (LOTS) of nights, and this was the happiest crowd I have seen outside of Disney; thank you, thank you, thank you. This establishment is in a fantastic location with about 10 restaurants, a large grocery store and a Target in the same parking lot. There is some construction north of the property, so for the best room ask for one on the front of the building facing the shopping plaza. Thank you for such great care, thank you for making Marriott look good, and thank you for giving me and my fellow Marriott members a reason to keep making Marriott our first...
