Bait and switch! I am a Google reviewer with over 4,000,000 million views. I have never posted a bad review and I am very fair and honest with my reviews. Please take the time to read.

My husband and I were very excited to find a fossil and gemstone store while visiting Idaho Springs. We were interested in some high priced items she (the owner) had for sale. When we asked about them she said the price would be higher than the price tag. Then we asked what the price was. She said she didn't know since the prices went up since covid. Her friend had just brought in lunch for both of them. So we said please think about what the new prices are while you are eating lunch and we will just come back. So we went and enjoyed Idaho Springs. We purchased several items from other stores. After about 2 hours we went back to the store. We walked in, she saw us and then she turned around and walked back to the living quarters. We asked the other lady that was working when she would be back. She said she was taking a break and then said she can't rush her since she was the owner. So we waited 20 min and then my husband said to the lady behind the counter, I don't think she wants to sale the items. She said I don't think she does either or she would have come up.

I am very disappointed in the business practice as we were looking to spend $3k plus on some pieces she had. I was so turned off by this as we are business owners to and would never bait and switch our customers.

I looked at her reviews this morning and as I did I found that she has also done the same thing to another customer. Who knows how many people she has done this to. I have never given a 1 star review before until today. I was very disappointed with the way we were treated and I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. good selection, knowledgeable and nice enough staff but i am disappointed with my experience. we spent about an hour selecting our items and when we went to pay, i was informed all of the prices labeled were incorrect and were in fact two or three times the amount. as a shopper, i was working within a budget and i mentioned that i felt discouraged and mislead by their prices as i had to put back many items. i suggested that they should update their prices so people have full transparency and they responded by saying that it would "take forever " this is not my first rodeo. i have been collecting for years and i treasure the experiences i have at local small business gem and mineral shops. however, this experience felt slimey and dishonorable. after they made it clear they wouldn't honor the advertised prices, i should have just left and kept my money but i felt so uncomfortable at the whole situation and now...

Fantastic selection, wonderful staff, and loads of educational goodies and rare finds at an affordable price!

This shop does a great service to the community by showcasing fossils, minerals, and gems you’d typically have to pay museum prices to see.

They even point out which finds are local to the area — and one of the owners comes from generations of miners and can show off rare specimens found by her own family members. Pretty amazing!

I only spent about $20 but walked out with 3 of the coolest specimens possible. How refreshing to actually get a good deal on nice things in this day and age.

Above all, there’s a lovely little kitty who lives on site and is super soft and sweet. Love her!
