Edit: The place was really lovely. The grounds are wonderful, the room was quiet and pretty, the heater worked great, and there was hardly any warm up time for the hot water. I would bring my own soap if I was staying there again, but that's my personal preference. Housekeeping should've been better, the bedside table tops had a visible layer of dust on them. The clothes rod over the small bed amused us as it was basically unusable. The mattress on the large bed was really, really bad. Original: The room was pretty but very dusty. There was dish detergent to wash your hands in the bathroom. No actual soap was anywhere in the room. There was no way to hang up clothes without them being on the face of the person in the small bed. The heater was wonderful and the room did not get overly cold at night. The bedspread was dirty. The plastic mattress was noisy and uneven. But I would go back. 😃

I've stayed here once a few years ago and loved it. My boyfriend and I booked a cabin studio over this past Christmas week. The bed was comfortable and clean. The fireplace was hooked up to a thermostat that could be adjusted which was very nice since it was cold that week. The cable didn't really work but we brought a laptop to plug in so no worries on that. There's also a mini fridge, microwave, dishes and utensils provided for eating. They even have a sponge and dish soap if you want to reuse everything again. I really love that little detail. The man who checked us in seemed to be the only one on staff. The check in was a little odd because we had to phone him to let him know we arrived, but it didn't dampen the experience. Overall the stay was wonderful and I will definitely book again.

We stayed in Crested Jay for 3 nights. Cons: The room wasn't cleaned for us. Bedding seemed that had been used. (It was replaced upon request) Microwave doesn't work effectively. Only one side of dish was heated up as expected. Furnitures are little aged. Pro The room has a nice cozy feeling. I love the fireplace. It has a decent sized refrigerator so we were able to store all our prepared meals without problem. You can rent DVDs from the office. The office clerk was very nice and helpful.

We rented the Eagle cabin, 7 guests. There's "rustic charm" and then there's obvious lack of maintenance and basic necessities. First: location. The way the picture showing the cabin was taken, you'd never know that it sits literally on the side of the main road. If you're looking for a quiet retreat, this is not it. Watch any small children and pets running out the front door as the traffic is unforgiving. The map posted online shows a wide parking lot, forget that. The windows do not dim the noise of cars, day or night so we felt like we were sleeping in the middle of the road. The cabin has no heat upstairs. You have to get your own wood for the fireplace that has no air circulation thefore no oxygen for combustion so the wood we bought was useless. It was cold even with our own blankets on. To go downstairs one has to use a spiral metal staircase dimly lit. Make sure you have adequate shoes for grip.Watch your small pets/ kids as mine almost fell through. Downstairs, the two rooms are of decent size and amenities. The one major complaint about this cabin above all, are the mattresses. They lost all firmness, the shapes of many bodies forever caved in and zero back support. The bed in the hallway had strings and main metal frame digging into my back. It was so bad that none of the seven of us had more than 2 hours of sleep each night. The heaters in the rooms sometimes work, sometimes just randomly stop, in the middle of winter. The patio doors although locked, don't close completely so you'll have cold air freezing the lucky one attempting to sleep nearby. Two positives: the water heater works and the kitchen is nicely equipped and fully functional. Finally, the WiFi...trust their disclosure that it's not guaranteed or implied. Bring your own hot spot. And an extra day off to catch on some sleep when you make...

We stayed 2 nights. Check in was easy and quick. We were in the 'Falcon' cottage. It was 1 bedroom / living room, a kitchen and small bathroom. It was very dark inside - needs more lights and some bulbs were out so that would have helped in the bathroom. There were windows and when the blinds were open it helped a lot in the day time. The kitchen was smallish but okay for vacation cooking and it was pretty well stocked with what you need. (The gas lighter was empty? We cooked several times with no problems. The bed was comfortable but it needs to be changed out. There is starting to be the valley / bump in the middle going on. There was a fireplace which we used with a Dura-Flame log we brought. It didn't make it warm but gave a nice ambience in the evening. There is a good sized flat screen TV with many channels. The bathroom was quiet small with a massive Jacuzzi type tub and shower. The shower was hot but not so powerful - it must take forever to fill up that massive tub! I found the Lounge to be very uncomfortable and it hurt my back after a short while. Overall it seemed the cottage was clean. There was parking right outside and there is overflow parking in the middle of the complex opposite the office building. It is right off the main road with easy access and is no more than 5 minutes to the center of town. Each cottage looked to have a Propane BBQ and some tables and chairs outside. There are lots of birds to sit and listen to and watch lots of Squirrels scuttling about and running up trees. All the grass has been replaced with synthetic and honestly the grounds look very good. No idea about Internet as we left all that stuff at home to have a quiet weekend away from all that garbage! I would recommend this place for sure and...
