On a family trip to Idyllwild one of the first things I did was look pet friendly restaurants willing to seat us with our dog. One of the first establishments in the results was the Mile High Cafe. The Mile High Cafe was just a short drive from where we were staying, it was already highly rated, it was one of only two that listed pet friendly as one of its amenities, and we were already pretty hungry and ready for lunch, so we loaded everyone up and headed down the mountain to the sounds of Google Maps, and our dog's anxious whining. On arriving the host and waiter directed us out to the patio where he met us with menus in hand and sat us right away. Throughout the meal the services was polite, friendly, and incredibly patient with our dog who took it on herself to share her thoughts every time he came through the door to the main restaurant onto the patio. The menu is a mix of standard American breakfast and lunch standards, and Korean dishes that will be familiar to anyone who enjoys that cuisine. Our group ordered the bibimbap (with tofu instead of beef), beef bulgolgi with a side of kimchi, yeasted waffle platter, and eggs Benedict. The food was excellent. I had the bulgolgi and kimchi. The meat was cooked perfectly and the marinade was the right balance of sweet and savory. The kimchi was crisp, fresh, pleasantly sour, and a little salty. Lunch at the Mile High Cafe was well worth the visit, and this spot should be on your must-visit list if you are going to be staying in Idyllwild for a...
Read moreMy crew and I tried this place well on deployment here we tried multiple restaurants throughout town. This place was one of our absolute favorite for breakfast. The staff is super friendly and very good at what they do. My crew tried multiple things on their menu we tried their special strawberry pancakes, corned beef, different types of omelettes, and loco moco. There were probably a few other meals in there as well that we tried. I tried their freshly squeezed orange juice it was delicious a little pricey but very good. I have to be honest I expected this place to be more busy during the breakfast time for how good their food is It truly is fresh and well worth driving to. There's also a separate coffee shop attached to them in the same building called alpaca coffee they do a phenomenal job as well they have delicious coffee and are quick to get you the drink you order. I don't see many people being disappointed by taking the trip a little bit outside of main part of town and...
Read morestopped by with my fiancé so we could grab some breakfast, we originally came here for the coffee shop next door but decided to check it out. what makes this a 3 star for me was an incident that occurred. we were already seated & took our order and randomly the manager came by and asked if she could take my fiancés seat he was sitting in for another table. We were sitting in the corner with the padded seats which I understand if maybe it didn't belong there but it was not that packed that she had to take the chair he was sitting on. There was plenty of seats available that she could've grabbed. It just felt rude to me. Aside from that, I ordered the country fried steak and got a pancake instead of potatoes ($2 extra). I really enjoyed my country fried steak & the pancake was good. My fiancé ordered the loco moco and he thought it was really good. Sadly though due to what occurred I don't think we'll be back but the food...
