Was in Idyllwild for the day to celebrate my birthday with my mom, who I don’t get to see very often. It was getting dark and we hadn’t gotten any nice pictures together yet, so we saw this place on the map and decided to go see if we could take some pictures there quickly before the sun set (it was around 4:30). Some angry bearded man walked up to our car at the entrance with a scowl. He said in an angry tone “are you looking for day use?” (Obviously not, it’s almost dark). I said “hi, we were just hoping to come through and take a few pictures really quick and then head home.” He said “ok that’s fine, the road loops around”. So I took that as him saying it was fine, right? We were slowly driving the loop, pulled over in the dirt and got out to take some pictures. Mind you, there was barely a soul in sight, so we weren’t in the way of any campers or anything like that. Only 10 minutes went by, and mister grumpy came to find us to scold me about getting out of the car. I told him “oh sorry, you didn’t explain that.” And he continued to berate and argue. Obviously it was a misunderstanding. If he had told us at the entrance “by the way you can’t park or get out of your car” then we would’ve just left and found somewhere else to take pictures. He was a very mean and miserable human being. Not a shred of kindness in behind those sad eyes. Was thinking about camping here in the future, now I definitely know better. I’d understand his concern if it was the height of camping season, but it was 4:30pm in December. Sunset was at 5pm. We weren’t there late, we were only there for 10 minutes. And the campsite was rather...

Check in time is 2:00 but we got here a few hours early and they let us check in early. We got to our campsite with a struggle. We couldn't figure out where it was. Our campsite number was 21 and considered a premium site. (Side note while booking I didn't know why or how this was a premium site) Once we arrived we noticed it's more secluded than some of the others but hardered to find where to actually go. The man at the front didn't give us a map either. So the whole parking situation is kinda weird. We had to drive through a few camp sites to make it ours which was awkward. After exploring the campground we think the sites in the 40s are better. They are flat. We had a slight incline at our site and no where to put our larger tent. It's a cute little spot but definitely not perfect. Alot of the campsites are on hills. Bathrooms were stocked with soap and paper towels. You can shower with coins and it's on a timer. There is water here to clean items etc...You have to bring a propane fire pit. Everyone here seemed to have a dog and we didn't see any poop! It was a well maintained site. People cleaned up after their pets. Dogs must be on a leash at all times. Hiking trails nearby and the beautiful cute town of Idyllwild of course. We stayed from Friday to Sunday on a holiday weekend. Overall we had a great time. Last note...I wish their website was more descriptive...

Hello. Well this was the first time I have been camping here. I got to see lil critters here I haven't seen before. My friends and I had two campsites. Both were good. I do have to say tho you got to be prepared for the sun. Not all campsites have shade. So bring a pop up to add a little extra shade. There is a trail nearby to have an adventure. People and plenty of dogs came and camped. There are wonderful beautiful wild flowers as well(don't pick). Oh everyone has a fire pit. There are also plenty of different looking campsites. From being on a side of a hill to just really flat ground to what it looked like to me a big pit. 😊 This was also one of the biggest places I've seen with so many campsites. 80 something. 😯 Also there were bathrooms and showers. Bathrooms open all night and cleaned what seemed hourly. Big plus. And if you want to shower make sure to have some quarters on you. Will cost 50 cents. With the bathrooms you did have to go on a bit of a walk. So depending on were you were at it could be going on a quest to the bathroom to a little stroll. Either was not a bad distance enless you really had to go. 🤭 This also has a cute lil park if you just want to be in nature for the day. This is were you can have a pic nic and have a grill out amongst the grand trees and critters. So it was a beautiful time here. Will plan on...
