If you haven’t had a chance to stay at the independence hotel then you are missing out on the modern and nature focused good life! The owners have really put their heart and soul into this wonderful hotel. I felt like I was able to be more productive and more focused on self-care than I ever have at any stay I’ve had in my entire life. I am 39 years old and I own and operate five businesses and that takes a lot of focus and energy so the amenities and the customer service from every staff member was surely appreciated. Every single detail has been carefully planned and executed. The best part is that you’re just a small walk away from dipping your feet in the water and getting close to nature. I am a person who appreciates modern touches as well as having nature close by so this is my new home away from home. Thank you to the staff and the owners for making this heaven on earth. And the restaurant has food that is to live for so that is another added bonus. Thanks again and again! I’ll be back anytime I need to re-center and accomplish things that are important to me.

My partner and I love this place. It’s so peaceful here. The rooms are all nice, even the cheapest one. Service is good and the people are genuine, not the fake “hospitality” you get in some places. If you can swing it (and it’s available), one of the top floor suites with the balcony is definitely the room to have. The view of the Willamette River is amazing and it’s so nice to just sit outside and chill. Independence is a nice town but if you come to stay in the middle of the week as my partner and I tend to do (fewer people and lower room rates) then many of the locals shops and restaurants are closed. The hotel restaurant Territory is a solid option, but if you are ok with lower cost options, there quite a bit in nearby Monmouth (5 minutes away) or many nice options in Downtown Salem (15 minutes away). I recommend Bo and Vine or Best Little Roadhouse.

What a great place ! We only live about an hour in a half away but we are right in the city. We wanted a quite romantic weekend away from all the city and work stress! This place let's you use the hot tub by appointment which is awesome cuz our Apartments has the pool fitness center and the hot tub closed because of covid! I do feel the hot tub could be a little hotter it did feel like lukewarm bath water but it was still nice to use!

The staff has been super friendly and have answered all of our questions. The restaurant in the hotel was very nice and convenient. I think it's called territory. The staff was all so wonderful and friendly ! My boyfriend absolutely loved the brussel sprouts we got as an appetizer! I got the fish and chips it was absolutely delicious except the breading on the fish was underdone but I just took it of and ate the fish. The fries are actually really delicious I couldn't stop eating them they had a great crunch and flavor! My boyfriend got the shirmp sandwich it was absolutely delicious when I tryed a bite of his sandwich I wished I had ordered that instead of the fish and chips but it was all very yummy!

It was pretty awesome they let our drinks come back with us to the room and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. We got the biscuits and gravy .comes with bacon and scrambled eggs! Your drink options are coffee ,tea, orange juice or cranberry juice. I love chocolate milk so that would have been nice if chocolate milk or hot chocolate could have been an option!

We tried the Redgate Winery which was pretty cool they had a live band but unfortunately their seating isn't so great so we had to sit outside and it was raining, windy and cold we did not stay long but the bottle of wine we purchased was delicious! It was nice that it wasn't far from the hotel.

Our trip away from home has been wonderful! I absolutely love how peaceful and quiet the hotel is. I always bring my own feather pillow from home because I have a hard time sleeping in hotels but I actually didn't even really use my pillow all that much here . Their bedding and pillows were very comfortable! Everything is super clean! I would like to give a shout out to all the housekeepers for how very clean the room and common areas are. I used to be a housekeeper and I know how unappreciated and under paid that work is. Hope the management and owner recognized what a wonderful housekeeping staff they have!

Overall I would say the only thing that would make this hotel even greater would be having room service and adding robes and slippers to the rooms and the Hotel restaurant being open later! However the early closing is probably due to covid. Things are so limited now. We decided we wanted dessert after all and the restaurant had already closed. We tried to get dessert delivered with Uber Eats but everything was 45 to 60 minutes away. They hotel has a spa but also closed due to covid. We would have loved to get massages! Unfortunately life just isn't what it use to be anymore but we had a fantastic trip and we will...

We stayed at the hotel for 7+ days. The hotel is a new construction; thus, things are still in good shape, in that regard, an excellent choice for the area. I give the hotel four stars, more precisely three and a half stars; I subtract from the rating because of the staff and overall lack of hospitality. Again, it might just be my experience; since I am European, our sense of hospitality might be different. The hotel thinks of itself as a destination in itself; unfortunately, the staff working at the hotel is not hotel-level hospitable[ there is friendly, which the staff is, and there is hospitable]; the hotel feels more like a apartment building than a hotel. This feeling might be just mine since we stayed here longer than perhaps the average person.

Overall, there were a few issues not too significant but enough to make our experience slightly unpleasant. Firstly, we opted to have the room cleaned every other day; in most cases (there is one exception), the room was not cleaned properly (no vacuum, no dusting, etc), only the towels were replaced. In another case, the hotel room was not cleaned at all, only after I asked for it to be cleaned. The hotel roof is nice, however, the outdoor furniture wasn't properly maintained (stained cushions, etc). Secondly, we booked directly from the hotel's website. On the day of our arrival, we noticed that some sites, such as booking.com, had the same hotel room for almost $100 less, the front desk receptionist was kind enough to adjust the price. But not before, going day by day through each day, finding the price on one of the advertised sites, and matching the rate to the lowest price advertised. It felt like haggling, what a sentiment, and an uncomfortable position. After a 10 hour trip, the last thing anyone would want to do is go through the process of finding the advertised rates and asking for...

This hotel is a hidden gem in the heart of Oregon's wine country that deserves so much more recognition! My team and I stayed in the Squad Suite last week for our company retreat and had the best time together. I love the close proximity of the hotel to all the Main Street shops that are within walking distance, but it was also nice to just be able to head down the hall from our room to their on-site Territory Restaurant for dinner. Highly recommend the baja fish tacos, brussel sprouts, and oversized skillet chocolate chip cookie for dessert! The restaurant alone is worth a trip out to the hotel; the waterfront views are unbeatable, and it has a great indoor/outdoor seating area flow. We also really enjoyed the use of the hotel's hot tub and gym (both which you can make private reservations for) and hanging out on the rooftop balcony overlooking the river. Our stay in the Squad Suite room itself was a great experience - from the comfortable, clean beds (their luxe bunk bed arrangement sleeps 6 in the Squad Suite) to a row of individual lighted mirrors on the vanity bar, double bathrooms, the biggest flat screen I've ever seen in a hotel, in-suite Nespresso and full-size fridge, and delightful art decor, everything the Independence Hotel offers is so thoughtful and you can tell they really care about the small details. The service from the hotel staff is wonderful too, highly recommend patronizing this locally owned boutique hotel for...
