We are fulltime RV'ERS our rig is in the shop.We stayed 4 months with our two Morkies at this location. As travel nurse and CNA, before our Motorcoach We have traveled across America and stayed at many hotels. I will say, our stay at CANDLEWOOD East Indianapolis was excellent.
We were apprehensive about the locations we were told it was an unsafe area however Rondale made us feel welcomed and safe.
Once we settled in we never felt unsafe or threatened or disturbed. Arriving at any place of business the first thing I look at is the parking lot. An unkept parking lot is a red flag. When a property has potholes, trash, crumbling asphalt & poor landscape we dont stay.
The front parking was full and shared with questionable hotel. Rondale told to park in the back. The back parking lot was brand new, clean, spacious and well lit. The location was perfect we were 15 minutes east from Downtown. And as plant-based eaters We shop at Wholefoods Market and Trader Joe's which were 15-20 minutes away.
The manager Rondale and other staff member Ashley, Gavin, Anthony including maintenance Josh and Jaylin were always professional, helpful and considerate. Josh and Jaylin were always being productive. I looked out the window a saw Jaylin shoveling frozen ice. It was a lot of snow and ice. I wanted to help. Perhaps ownership could buy a snowblower. It was way too much snow for a person to shovel.
Everyone were always accommodating. If a light bulb went out it was fixed immediately.
If their were "ANY" issues with the room it was handled swiftly.
Praises to Housekeeping they did a great job cleaning our room. These ladies worked hard and we appreciate coming into a disinfected, clean smelling room and sparkling bathroom with clean towels and shower curtain.
ASHLEY was the smiling face and positive energy of the business. We always looked forward to her working the front desk and making sure if we needed anything to let her know. Our packages from Amazon were handled with care.
Rondale took great care of us. You can't always trust reviews. We took a chance and enjoyed our stay. In all honesty when we return to INDIANAPOLIS we will be staying at CANDLEWOOD EAST because of the location and our positive experience. Plus complimentary laundromat, fitness center, and the store had plant-base vegan food and snacks. When we are not traveling in our RV Motorcoach IHG CANDLEWOOD is becoming our favorite place to stay with our puppies. Thanks for the hospitality Rondale and Team.
Sorry Rondale for Piper sometime yelling at you he really does like you.

Read moreI met up with a couple of friends in Indianapolis over a weekend in July 2024, and we stayed at this Candlewood Suites. It was okay... nothing special. We had two separate rooms... one where I stayed with one friend and another where our other friend and his spouse stayed.||I was the first one to arrive. I arrived a couple hours before the official check-in time. At first, I was told that the room wasn't ready and that I'd have to come back later. But then I had to use the restroom in the lobby, and when I went to leave the building, the gentleman at the front desk stopped me and me that he could get me into a room which was great! The room wasn't the same setup that we had originally planned on, but it was fine because a different friend (who required the other room setup) had to back out of our trip... so I took the room that was available early. I think there was a bit of a language barrier, though, with the front desk clerk. When he first told me that the room wasn't ready, he became somewhat defensive and thought I was really angry when I wasn't; all I was trying to do was ask the question about whether the room was ready... and explain that it was fine if it wasn't.||The cleanliness of the room (#122) was okay, but the room was in need of upgrades. Some paint on the walls had chipped off and the desk chair was really worn. Out in the hallway, there were times when I could smell a bit of weed. Thankfully, it wasn't too prominent and didn't last long.||After I got settled into the room, I realized that the type of room that I ended up getting had a lower cost than the type of room that I had originally booked... so I spoke with the manager and he was able to give me a discount on the room which I appreciated.||This hotel doesn't have a pool or hot tub, and I believe breakfast is somewhat limited. (No big deal, though, because my friends and I had breakfast elsewhere both of the mornings we were in the area.)||Overall, this was an okay hotel and we all slept fairly well... but it was just average/dated and I can't really see myself wanting to stay again. It was expensive for what it was, and it can definitely use...
Read moreGross!!! We checked into two rooms for two nights for the eclipse. The rooms smelled musty, smoky, and old, but appeared clean. Until my niece went to lay in the bed for the evening, only to discover there was URINE soaked through the sheets and into her pajama bottoms!! The sheets were rank, still wet and smelled disgustingly of urine!! Gross!!! We called downstairs and asked for another room entirely. The person at the desk was able to find a single room so my two nieces and my daughter had to stay in a separate room from me and my mom and our other children. At this point we had three rooms. The person at the desk assured me that the following day we would be able to get another room and also assured me that we would be reimbursed for that room for the first night. Fine. The following day I told my story to Diana, who was extremely helpful and friendly, and the manager who was also helpful at the time assuring me that they would have a room for us when we came back in the evening and that I would be reimbursed for that first night. We checked out of the single room and the room with urine and had to crowd everything into the other room that we occupied. When we came back, we were given another room, fine, and again was assured we would be reimbursed. I told the manager that I wanted the money returned to the card that I used to put the $100 incidental deposits (required for both rooms). He sort of waved me off nonchalantly and told me he would make sure it was taken care of. When we checked out on Monday April 8th, he again told me that he would process a refund for that first night. I called the hotel on Thursday, April 11th, and was assured AGAIN that the money would be returned to the card I used for the incidentals. Here it is April 16th, a full week after we have checked out, there's no email confirming that the money was returned, nothing pending in my bank and no return processed. Absolutely unacceptable!!! I want a refund that I was promised, for the ONE ROOM for the ONE NIGHT that our room had URINE SOAKED IN THE BEDSHEETS! ...
