Never have I ever written a bad review. Until now. And never have I ever been talked to so disrespectfully by an employee at an establishment. Until now.
I went to this Culver’s location for the first time. I pull up to the drive thru and order chicken tenders. She asks what else. I asked for cheese curds instead of fries. She says she can’t hear or understand me. So I repeated it. Twice. I then ordered a vanilla with M&M cement mixer. She kept saying she couldn’t hear me. So I repeated that as well. She then asks what kind of sauce I wanted with the tenders. I said “none”. She said “ranch?" Again, I said “none”. Again, she says “ranch?” She clearly couldn’t hear or understand me, so after the third time asking, my kiddo in the passenger seat pipes up and says “No sauce!” Never once did I raise my voice or talk rudely to the employee.
I’m now waiting for her to give me my total but there’s no sound. So I say “hello?? Are you still there?” More dead silence. I figure maybe she’s fixing her headset or they’re obviously having problems with the intercom. So after a few moments of awkward silence, I figure I’ll just pull up to the window while they sort it out and make things easier for everyone. No big deal.
Well boy was I in for a surprise!!!! I pull up to window and this employee opens it with an attitude and starts laying into me. Apparently, she turned the intercom off ON PURPOSE and stopped taking my order!
My conversation with Culver’s employee…
Employee: I couldn’t tell what you was sayin’ and yellin’ wasn’t gonna get you anywhere!
I tried calmly explaining that no one was yelling. I explained that my kiddo in the passenger seat had piped up since she said she couldn’t hear me. Employee then proceeds to reprimand me.
Employee: That’s why we tell you to order off this side. (I’m not even sure what she meant by that) Cause we couldn’t understand anything you was sayin.
I tried explaining that I was ordering from my drivers seat the whole time. How could I be yelling if she couldn’t even hear me to understand what I was saying???
Employee: “Yeah but then you yelled and I’m telling you that’s not gonna get you anywhere.”
I tried to explain how no one was responding over the intercom.
Employee: “Yeah! I switched over because you yelled at me. So now I can understand you. What can I get you?
Me: Chicken tenders
Employee (with an attitude): Understood that
Me: Ok
Employee: What was your dipping sauce?
Me: None. You kept saying “ranch” but we were saying “none”.
Employee (again with an attitude): That was because I couldn’t understand you. I’m gonna explain that to you one more time! So no dipping sauce? What else?
Me: Cheese curds
She then starts mumbling under her breath something about yelling. I said to her two more times that no one yelled at her.
Employee (again with an attitude): What else for you HONEY?
I was so shocked and flustered that I said “that’s it” then immediately realized I forgot to ask if she got the cement mixer we ordered at the drive thru.
Me: Sorry wait, did you get the cement mixer?
Employee gets upset with me.
Employee: No! cuz you just said that was it!
I said “Yes, I did but…” (tried explaining) and she cuts me off.
Employee: So you want a cement mixer?
Me: Yes
Employee: What kind?
Me: M&M and vanilla
Employee (clearly patronizing me): Say that again?
By this time I’m just done. I pay for the food and sit there in shock while I’m being glared at. When she hands me my food I ask her for the name of the store manager.
Employee: I am one of them.
I realize that text in black and white can not convey a persons demeanor or attitude. But this woman’s attitude was rude, condescending and totally uncalled for. As someone who works in the hospitality industry, I find it hard if not impossible to believe this woman is a manager. If you’re having difficulty hearing someone, kindly ask them to pull forward to the window.
I hope the real store manager sees this review and investigates. I hope he or she can pull footage from the drive-thru or has...

Places like Mcdondald's ask if you want it. I walked to the door to go inside but this was an enployeess only entracne so when a girl came out I explained the issue. They "remade" the shake that now looked like it had no pumpkin color at all. From the lot I called and spoke to the "manager" Monte who informed me "it was on the picture", and we have no requirements to disclose our ingredients. Then after a back and forth she finnaly said it was cinnamon, we don't have nutmeg. OK. I was wrong, I have been wrong before and not afraid to admit it. So if that was the case why would you NOT say Sir, that is not mutmeg it is cinnamon in the first 20 seconds of the conversation? My guess is because she had no idea and had to ask Dave the owner. After the argument, I decided I'll just get my money back. I came in the store bag and shake in hand and waited for someone to help me. I was told they don't do refunds. What? Unhappy customer with the unteaten food and no refund? Instead, I was given Dave the franchisee owners phone number and I called him. Then I had to wait for a callback after I left a message at about 8pm. Dave also said no refunds and I asked if that was Culvers policy or his and it is his. So, I took my two tenderloins that were now over 20 min old and left the shake. I called McDonald's 52nd and Keystone, my normal cordial and consise Culvers at 96th and 69 and the Steak and Shake 54rd Keystone and all said with a receipt and the food a refund was no problem. Dave's way or the highway? 70 is right there so you know the answer. Seems the reviews show I'm not the only one. I wonder if they are brave enough to say "We don't do refunds" when someone tries to place an order or put a placard on the door? ...
Read moreNormally, Culver's is good, next to Steak & Shake and 5 Guys. They just opened recently so they need some slack. But it was a nightmare. Lines were long. The guy taking orders could not get my order correct. I messed him up when I told him l wanted lettuce, tomato, onion and dill pickles, no mayo just mustard. Instead of ringing up a deluxe he rang up the toppings separately only after repeating the items to me over and over and forgetting an item each time. Finally, my total for a single cheeseburger with iced tea was $18.34. I asked him to refer me to someone who was experienced in taking orders. He told me to drive up to the first window. The lady there cancelled the order that had been placed and corrected my order. Oops, wait. I forgot that after spending 25 minutes in line I received an order with grilled onions, which I did not want grilled. The delivery girl told me she would get me another hamburger with fresh onions. While l was waiting for my burger with, no grilled onions, they sent another girl out with my burger with grilled onions AGAIN. The same darn burger. I asked for a manager to cancel my order and the manager told me she was working on something else and l would need to wait. But hurrah, here comes another girl with a burger with fresh onions. After almost an hour there l grabbed my burger and left. I can't figure it out but the burger was cold and gummy. I actually threw the burger away across the street at the Dollar Store. Will definitely give them another try. The east side needs...
