I gave this hotel a one star rating because my family and i visited saint paul, minnesota from fayetteville, nc and we stayed at this hotel. our ORIGINAL stay was from July 2-July 5 2018, but we decided to intended the stay, last minute, til July 6. July 2-5 was charged to my dad's card and the added night (july 5-6) was charged to my card. Long story short, my family and i had a change of mind and decided to leave on the 5th as ORIGINALLY planned. when my dad went to check out on the morning of July 5th, the lady at the desk, Stacy, told me dad a refund would be issued for the added night (July5-6) we DID NOT stay. remind you I paid for the added night on MY CARD. we were told the refund process takes 3-5 business days but my bank takes 7-10 days. i called my bank a week 1/2 later to see if they seen any charge credited back to my account and i was told NO. so i called the hotel the same day THE FIRST TIME, and stacy told me she did so give a refund. so i called my bank AGAIN and they stated the only see the charge from the hotel and nothing was credited back. I called the hotel the second and so happen stacy werent there no more and i spoke to a new employee , so girl name emma i believe, but emma told me the refund which was the amount of 165 and some change. but emma told me one amount of 80 something was refunded to my dad card and the other half was coming to my card. HOW CAN YOU REFUND MONEY TO SOMEONE CARD THAT NEVER CAME OFF THEIR CARD!!!!! there was no reason why any money should have been sent to my dad card if the FULL $165-$166 came off my freaking card. needless to say NEITHER ME OR MY DAD DID NOT GET MY DANG REFUND!!!!!! STACY, I never got my money back !!! It is August 9th, 2018, and I'm still mad!!!! and the rooms weren't all big like the pictures made it out to be. and i will keep posting a bad review until i'm contacted...
Read moreThey claim the beds are queens. If they are queens, I am the Queen of England. I have a queen at home, my husband and I can lay side by side and still have room, but not this bed. We were slammed up against each other, its that narrow, so yeah, its a double. I always check under the mattress just in case of bedbugs. This isnt even a normal mattress, its a foam mattress and boy can you tell, the dip in the middle was pretty insane. I had driven 14 hours, walked in, and then walked out and went next door to the Holiday Inn Express. Yeah I still paid for this room and had to pay again, but thats how bad it was. I wasnt going to sleep on that bed. Period.
This hotel is 135$ for a room with one "queen" bed, I got a king size next door for 160$. Worth it. Never going to stay at a Microtel ever again. I suggest you avoid it too.
Edit: This is the email I got from the manager. Beds at the end of life but Im lying. Please enjoy the quote.
Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problem and prevent any future occurrences. Here at Microtel Inn and Suites by Wyndham, we continuously strive to meet your needs and expectations. You must be the Queen then because our beds are queen size mattresses and they are not foam. Our beds are on the tail end of their life and will be replaced next year. I am sorry you found us so unpleasant and I really don't appreciate being called out for being dishonest when you don't know what you are talking about. Had you brought your concerns to the desk we would have moved you to a room that was more to your liking. The majority of our guests find our beds very comfortable. Again, I am sorry your stay was not to...
Read more2nd large family group stay Sept 2023. Looks like Google would not let me review again separately so I am adding to the original review below that was from Oct 2022.
Again, this hotel was a fantastic location for our large family to gather. We had a large block of rooms to accommodate family coming in for my dad's funeral and the hotel staff was truly wonderful in allowing us to gather in the breakfast area at night to reminisce and to comfort each other. Chatey and Devin made the reservation and check in process go so smoothly. Definitely a bargain considering the proximity to the airport, area restaurants and attractions, decent breakfast , accommodating and very friendly staff and clean rooms. We will be back!
Oct 2022 - We had a large family group in for our dad's 90th birthday and this hotel was perfect for us. It was close to all of our activities and easy access to the highway to go to airport or downtown St Paul. Rooms were clean and the staff was fantastic. Chatey was wonderful to work with on the initial set up and then preassigned our rooms the day of arrival to have the majority of our group on the same floor. Nathan , the night manager was very gracious putting up with our large group congregating in the lobby/breakfast area every night. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Beds were comfy , breakfast was standard offering but I will say the waffle batter seemed to have a better taste than others and were nice and crispy! Only suggestion would be more fruit choices. We will definitely stay here again! Great value...
