Wingate by Wyndham DFW / North Irving — Hotel in Irving

Excellent, enjoyable, comfortable, quiet, one night stay! I really like this hotel and very impressed with the friendly, efficient staff associates. This was a last minute change to my schedule, requiring a one night stay near DFW International Airport. Several of my colleagues and friends have visited this hotel and gave it high recommendations. When my work and travel schedule suddenly changed, I decided to visit the Wingate Inn and check it out myself. I'm very happy I did, the hotel is 15 minutes or less from DFW International Airport. The hotel provides complimentary airport shuttle service. I was promptly picked up on my arrival, and departures from the hotel to DFW operate on a schedule ( If you need shuttle service, it's very important you check with the front desk for shuttle schedule and sign up to reserve a seat!) The hotel is not a new property, but has been recently completely remodeled. The remodel is really nice and includes modern, bright, colorful decor, accents and furniturings. My guestroom was spacious, updated, quiet and comfortable. Since the hotel has just completed a remodel, the guestroom felt very fresh and clean. My guestroom included a comfortable queen bed, large flat screen TV, mini refrigerator, microwave and safe. The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast in the morning, which appeared to be very popular with the guests. I am not a breakfast person, so I never partake of breakfast offerings. However, the breakfast was quite busy and appeared to have a large selection of food items. One of my favorite, unexpected hotel amenities is the "The Landing Cafe"! I arrived at the hotel at dinner, and I was really hungry. I was thrilled when the front desk associates told me about their in-house Cafe! The Cafe has a limited, but diverse menu with extremely reasonable prices. You can order and pickup, as I did. They also offer outdoor dining tables, weather permitting. It is my understanding they will also deliver to your room, if you prefer. I enjoyed a delicious Cheeseburger and fries. My unexpected extra night stay in DFW turned out to be very pleasant and comfortable, all thanks to the excellent customer service and staff at the Wingate Inn. I most certainly will be returning in the near future!!

UPDATE 08/05/23: My third visit/stay at this Wingate property. I really like this hotel property; my stay was comfortable and quiet. My guestroom was clean and relaxing. I had a little difficulty with the hotel's airport shuttle service upon arrival. Otherwise, I had a very enjoyable stay. One new feature/service I observed is the addition of cocktails in the lobby area. I've not noticed this feature during past stays. I found this amenity a little odd, especially for a Wingate Inn. If you are booking this as a place to park your car while on vacation or get a shuttle to the airport look somewhere else!!! First of all parking is NOT “included” as they advertise! It’s $10 a night, false advertising. The shuttle is without a doubt the worst shuttle service in the DFW area, I’ve used many! Only booked this one this time because we just need a place to rest for 2 hours before our flight, rookie mistake. At drop off, the shuttle WILL NOT drop you at your gate, he will drop the entire van at the same spot and you have to walk to your gate even if it’s 3 miles away (DFW IS HUGE) even though the lady at the desk claimed he would ask for our gate and drop us there, he never even asked. Lastly, the hotel manager instructed us to call the hotel when we returned and they would send a shuttle. We called immediately after landing, still on the runway, just to make sure because they only have one driver. At that time, we were told it would be 35 mins…fine, we still had to get our bags. 35 mins passed, no shuttle. We called and they said it would be another 30, and that he would not come to the gate we were at we had to go to the other side of the airport for him to pick us up. 1 hour total passed, still no shuttel. We them Called AGAIN! They said they’re trying but they cannot promise a time. We waited for about another 20 mins, watched the shuttle drive by with an empty backseat as we stood right where he told us to be, waving him down and running after him, he never even slowed down! At that point we just got a taxi, which cost $40 for 2 miles. Save yourself the headache and time, use that extra $90 ($50 for parking, & $40 for taxi) on a better hotel that honors...

Welcome to DONTEXPECTYOURSHUTTLEGATE. The rooms are okay, BUT the shuttle is NOT TO BE TRUSTED! We arrived at the airport at 9:30pm and call the place to ask for the shuttle bus and they told us it would be there in 20-30 minutes. I had to call about 5/6 times more in the next 2 HOURS OF WAITING because the shuttle bus did not appear. To start with, it wasn’t even a bus, it was a car where we had to fit 5 people without counting the driver inside, plus bags! There wasn’t enough space. And to be honest, the worst part is that the driver LIED US IN OUR FACE saying that there was a “severe accident” and that he “pass over the terminal over hundred times”. The reality is that I put the drive from the place to the airport in google maps and it said 10 minutes drive, google maps never lies on time EVEN WITH ACCIDENTS. Also, I been waiting for two hours in the airport, do you think I haven’t check EVERY SINGLE CAR it came to the terminal they told me to wait? SERIOUSLY! 😤 we saw all the hotels shuttle-buses from around the area and they pass by us already KNOWING OUR FACES, that’s how long we WAITED! There were NO EXCUSES!! Besides that, the hotel itself was okay and the staff in there (BESIDES THE DRIVER) was nice. NOT WORTH THE COUPLE BUCKS YOU MAY SAVE unless you have your own ride. P.s.: the driver doesn’t know how to drive.
