This was a very short, horse hauling trip for us. We were coming from south of Houston with our horse trailer in tow. We left after 6 p.m. because my wife had meetings and couldn't leave work early. That means we were going to get in very late and we were going to have to leave very early to pick up our horse from nearby Lone Star Park.||The hotel was easy to get to on the 183 feeder. It is obviously an older, rebranded hotel which just about every Red Roof Inn is. We appreciated that at 12:10 a.m., there was still full access to the lobby and a desk clerk on duty. The lobby was nice enough. The clerk was a bit of a dud. He just didn't have much of a customer service personality. I suppose that happens sometimes with the late night shift.||I asked for a first floor room which the clerk agreed to give me. When I told him we had a pet, the answer changed. I had to ask him for two keys...just stuff he should be on top of. We were put at the very back of the hotel, which was fine. There weren't many cars back there which made me wonder why he wouldn't give me a downstairs room.||We were just glad to be at the hotel and we we felt blessed when we found abundant parking and a perfect place to park our trailer. The parking lot was very well lit and we could see our horse trailer from the room. We got into the room and it was very hot. We turned on the wall unit AC which was hard to operate because all of the setting labels had worn off the unit.||It took about two hours, but the room did cool down. I think all of the pet owners end up in the back part of the hotel because there were other dogs back there. Not a ton of grass, but enough to walk our dog to relieve herself. The room had a noticeable smell of smoke, but not a strong smell. It's almost like it gets imported from the AC unit when people are smoking outside their rooms.||The biggest bonus for us was the cleanliness of the room and not a single bug. No alarm clock and the bathroom door would not close. Not a huge deal for us. The microwave and mini fridge both worked well. There were a lot of premium channels on the big, flat screen TV. My wife enjoyed her hot shower and the great water pressure. There was a good bit of trash on the fence side of the parking lot that needs to be picked up.||We left the hotel at around 5:45 am. There is a Walmart next door that I believe you can walk to around the front side of the hotel. There were a bunch of work truck type vehicles around the hotel and that's the clientele that probably stays here often. We were comfortable with the other guests.||The hotel met our expectations for a short stop, budget hotel. We love that they let our pet stay free. We will stay here again when we are back in town. We would love to leave a five star review if they can take of the few issues...

There were 2 African American men behind the desk. One of them was Jason and the other was a skinny guy. He had no name tag and was the one who helped me with the check-in process.
It took a while to check-in for whatever reasons and there was absolutely no apology for that. Once check-in was done, I was simply given the keys with the direction to the room.
I gave few minutes to see if I was going to be told anything about the other important stuff like WiFi, free shuttle to the airport, free coffee in the lobby, check-out time, etc., but nothing was told until I asked for each of them.
Went to the room only to find out no WiFi. I called the front desk and I think it was Jason who picked up the line. His attitude was not friendly at all. He told me to try in few as router has been reset. When I insist on how important WiFi is for me, he rudely told me that I can come to the lobby and use WiFi there. What kind of answer is that? Why I would leave comfort of my room and go to the lobby for my WiFi needs? He then told me that there was some power outage earlier and that might have tripped something. He then simply hung up on me. While I do understand unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, how come I was not told about this issue when I was checking-in? I ended up day 1 with no WiFi at all.
I came to my room the next day and there were water on the floor next to the fridge, about to damage my stuff. I called the office and also asked to send some towels with the maintenance because I have used whatever I had. Again, rude response from some male was that I need to come to the office as they don't send anything with the maintenance. Once again, no apology or anything for the inconvenience. Maintenance guy showed up, without any towel, and told me that house keeping supposed to check the fridge when they clean the room on a daily basis and need to tell maintenance if there is any defrosting issue. Obviously, that didn't happen and I am the one who suffered because of that.
Room service didn't replenish soap and I had to ask her twice for that. When confronted she start arguing on how I only asked once and not twice. Really? First of all, I should not be even asking for it and then on top arguing instead of apologizing...Wow! Just Wow!
At the check-out, I had to deal with this rude young African American lady who had the same no caring attitude for the guest.
Overall, horrible customer service at this hotel. Staff definitely needs an immediate training on what customer service really is. As of now, it looks like they are working because they just have to and absolutely don't care about the guest and/or their business. I will definitely look somewhere...
Read moreI recently had a remarkable experience at the Red Roof Inn, and I can't praise them enough for their exceptional service and accommodations. It was an unforgettable stay, especially considering the circumstances.
One Saturday night, when I desperately needed a hotel at 2 in the morning, the Red Roof Inn was my saving grace. To my surprise, they were the only hotel available, and booking a room was a breeze. Despite my initial hesitation about a two-story hotel (as I'm accustomed to resort-style condos in California), the staff quickly put my worries to rest with their warm and welcoming demeanor.
Upon arriving at the hotel, I was relieved that they provided hot water and maintained a clean and tidy environment. It was exactly what I needed after a long and exhausting journey. I managed to get a solid three hours of sleep, which is better than zero at the airport.
Unfortunately, my flight experienced a three-hour delay, only to be ultimately canceled. Amidst the chaos, the front desk staff at Red Roof Inn went above and beyond to ensure that I reached the airport promptly by utilizing their complimentary shuttle service. Their attentiveness and support were greatly appreciated during this frustrating ordeal.
What amazed me further was the affordability of the hotel. Despite the convenience and comfort they provided, the rates were surprisingly reasonable. I am genuinely grateful for this establishment, which offered a clean room equipped with a refrigerator.
I regret not capturing the name of the outstanding individual at the front desk, as his exceptional service deserves recognition. He demonstrated impressive efficiency, promptly attending to all guests' needs. Even when confronted with demanding and complaining customers ahead of me, he remained composed and focused, ensuring that everyone was taken care of in a timely manner.
It's worth mentioning that there were over 11 canceled flights simultaneously, making the availability of any bookings truly remarkable. Red Roof Inn came through when many others could not accommodate stranded travelers.
Furthermore, I had originally booked a non-smoking room through a third-party app, but there was an oversight, and it assigned me a smoking room. However, the attentive front desk staff swiftly rectified the situation and switched my room to non-smoking, ensuring my comfort and satisfaction.
All in all, my experience at the Red Roof Inn was exceptional. The hotel staff provided outstanding service, the facilities were well-maintained, and they surpassed my expectations. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to anyone needing a reliable, affordable, and...
